TripScout - Travel Guide, Audio Tour & Offline Map for Android
Great app! Guides are made by locals. I used it to explore Boston and loved the interactive map, was very useful to plan my itinerary. You can play the audio guides as background and use other apps at the same time :)
This app has become my go-to travel planning tool. It's way easier than lugging around travel books AND it offers really great tips and ideas on what to see, where to eat, etc. I'm a big fan of the food recommendations!
Love this app. Very simple and easy to use. Everything you'd want to know when planning your visit to a city is overlayed against a map. Great recommendations for hidden gems!!
Great way to get to know a new city. Very helpful for finding things to do and learn about my surroundings.
Really a gem of an app. Helped me travel like a local in NYC.
Gret App! It gives you opportunity to find all cool local places! Love it!
Can't log in on facebook :(
Used this so far for the scandinavian cities and will use for more... 1) helps you get the most of every minute. the way they visualize sites on the map helps plan routes so you can organize your entire day... 2) summaries for each site gives you all the info and none of the TLDR ... 3) its a tiny detail but the fact that the hours and websites are right on the snapshot makes a difference. littel things like that suggests this was made by travelers for travelers... 4) map filters! if you want to do an entire day of similarly themes activities. you wont have to rerun a search. great if you want to do a museum tour of one city, or an eating binge in another, this is a good choice... a lot cheaper, easier, and more efficient than a bunch of outdated guide books.
TripScout has been on iPhone for a while and has had absolutely great reviews. We used iPhone version in DC and was just great. Best part is that if overseas, the downloaded city guides don't use data
We may be biased, but we built the travel app we always wanted :)
Doesn't have Houston, Texas
Really enjoyed using this app for my trip to San Francisco Pros Great user interface. Free preview for every city that has a tour. Let's you explore the city at your own pace. Can pick and choose to learn/explore the topics/places you're interested in. Cons It's not available in every major city. I wish I had it two years ago when I was running around europe.

Easy to navigate and user friendly. I appreciate being able to explore on my own time but still learn from a 'local expert'. I'll be looking forward to additional cities being added!
