About Voltage Drop
Voltage Drop 2011
*Voltage Drop - This calculation solves voltage drop for a circuit or feeder specified Load Amperage, Phase, Voltage,
Conductor -size – material – temperature, Raceway material, Ambient Temperature, Length and Power Factor based on
NEC Chapter 9, tables 8 and 9. The output results show the drop in volts and percentage plus circuit impedance values.
*Maximum Length - This calculation solves the maximum length of a circuit or feeder for a specified Load Amperage, Phase, Voltage, Conductor -size – material – temperature, Raceway material, Ambient Temperature, Volts or Percentage Drop and Power Factor based on NEC Chapter 9, tables 8 and 9. The output results show the maximum length in feet plus circuit impedance values.
*Minimum Wire Size - This calculation solves the minimum wire size of a circuit or feeder for a specified Load Amperage, Phase, Voltage, Conductor – max size – material – temperature, Raceway material, Ambient Temperature, Length, Volts or Percentage Drop and Power Factor based on NEC Chapter 9, tables 8 and 9. The output results show the minimum wire size per phase plus circuit impedance values.
*Maximum Load - This calculation solves the maximum load of a circuit or feeder for a specified Length, Phase, Voltage, Conductor -size – material – temperature, Raceway material, Ambient Temperature, Volts or Percentage Drop and Power Factor based on NEC Chapter 9, tables 8 and 9. The output results show the maximum load in amps plus circuit impedance values.
*Segmented - This calculation solves voltage drop of a circuit or feeder with multiple Load Amperage added at different points along its entire length for Phase, Conductor – material – temperature, Raceway material, Voltage, Power Factor, Ambient Temperature, Segment Load Amps, Segment Length, and Segment Conductor Size based on NEC Chapter 9, tables 8 and 9. The output results show by segment: the Source Voltage, Amperage, Wattage, Impedance Voltage Drop and Load Volts. Plus Total Circuit: shows the drop in volts and percentage plus circuit impedance values.
*Impedance - This calculation solves the effective impedance of a circuit or feeder for a specified Phase, Conductor – size – material – temperature, Raceway material, Length, and Power Factor based on NEC Chapter 9, tables 8 and 9. The output results show the Resistance, Reactance and effective impedance values.
