Ich war seit längerem auf der Suche nach eine Newsreader-App, die eben genau diese Aufgabe erfüllt ohne mit viel optischem wie funktionellen SchnickSchnanck beladen zu sein. Squid ist definitiv das beste was ich in dieser Kategorie gefunden habe, aber eine grundlegende Funktion fehlt noch, die das ganze endgültig abrunden würde. Ich muss als Nutzer in der Lage sein nicht nur meine Themen einzugrenzen sondern besonders auch die Quellen aus denen die Artikel herangezogen werden. Diese sind zwar klar ersichtlich und es fallen mir nur selten Quellen auf die ich nicht auch so lesen würde, aber um dem Motto der Newsreader im Allgemeinen und dem ihrer App im Speziellen gerecht zu werden, müssen solche Entscheidungen beim Nutzer liegen. Dennoch gibt es für die bisherige Arbeit ein großes Lob. Update: Gute Arbeit Squid-Team. Von jetzt an bester Newsreader bei Google Play meiner Meinung nach und natürlich auch volle 5 Sterne.

I'm not able to filter by publication, so I'm being forced to look at headlines from "The Express". I'm not willing to use this app if I'm not able to filter out specific publications. I'm sure the Express readers would feel the same way about the Guardian articles that also show up on the same feed.

Looks are great and the layout of the articles are nice (except for a huge amount of ads), but video playback is far from smooth with freezing constantly and not being able to go to full screen. Also offline reading would be brilliant...

It works good but I can't filter the sources from where the news are taken, so in the news feed I get a lot of articles from spam-news websites or ridiculous papers and tabloids.... Really must add this feature

'The X Factor' is not film news. Football news isn't 'crime'. Rubbish.

Not working on mobile networks. Articles won't load, only YouTube videos. Can't even read one article while waiting for my pizza in some crowded restaurant.

I miss one important feature: tagging news as read. Without it when I'm opening app again I still see news already readed

Like what I see so far but would really like some options, eg default newsview basic reader view not www - i use these apps to read articles without data-heavy web pages, so don't want it trying to load them every time I click on a story.
