Shutta - Photo from Video app for Android
Useless as hell and doesn't do a damn thing it says it does. All it wants to do is login to Facebook, then show you people you don't know. I wanted an app to take a picture from a video, and this doesn't do that even though the description says it does.
I didn't know it was spamware when I installed it. Regardless, it's not great as an image capture app. The controls are too sensitive. I had a terrible time grabbing the frame I wanted.
Wasn't looking for a social media app. After 2 min of not being able to figure out how to capture from my own videos I uninstalled. Bloatware.
This is spamware. No option to delete the account you created. The worst UI ever and it does not snap high resolution pics from videos. Same as any other picture grab apps. The intent is clearly to steal your email address
Don't Install this app! Don't waste your time. It's Spam App and stolen your information!
This app does not do anything it claims it will. It's like a rip off of Instagram. Wasn't able to edit any videos to a still image.
Between making an account and the UI, this app is terrible.
Okay... So I had little expectation of this app after reading all the poor reviews. However, one reviewer seemed to know what he was talking about, by user "18" on 11/28/17. This app does work. It does capture the correct frame displayed on the screen. It does seem to save the image at the same quality the video was filmed at. You don't need an account, per se... Technically, you could supply any email address that comes to mind, even if it's not yours. In fact, many apps try to fool you into signing up by not offering an out, but if you hit the back button you can usually skip registration. All that bs aside, since there are no instructions provided, you just have to fiddle with it to figure out how to use it. Swipe to the right to open the camera. There's a layered button on the lower left corner of the screen. Press that. Choose one of your videos by tapping on it. It will be displayed at the top of the page. Tap that display. Now use the dial to move through the frames in your video. The larger outer knob is the quick scroll, and the inner portion with the arrows takes you through it slowly, frame by frame, essentially. Once you find the frame you want, tap the center knob. Then tap the same knob on the next screen in the lower right corner of the screen. Now tap the "°°°" in the top right corner of the screen. Then tap "save to device"... All done! Press the back button to take more screen grabs. Now...... The app is a social app, and seems to have a following. I can't blame them for trying, but that should not be their focus, unless it is optional AND they provide proper instructions on the apps' use AND they put it in the description how this app is socially focused. One last thing... The controls for scrolling through your videos are a little wonky. Please improve on that! For those of you who are reading this, take into consideration a few things.... If you have the latest phones capable of high frame rates (30+) and are pulling screens from long videos, the app is going to lag behind your scrolling of the dial knob... So take it slow and give it a chance to catch up and display the correct frame. Other times you really have to haul ass with your thumb to get it to move through the screens. It's also sensitive to movement... So think of it like the default scroll line on video, and realize that you are moving through at least *30* frames per second... It is going to take a gentle and deliberate touch to find the frame that you are looking for.... Lastly, there's no way in hell that I would connect it to any social accounts. I use it to take frames from PERSONAL videos, which are never shared with anyone other than my gf. And there are far too many ways of unintentionally sharing these screens to a connected social account.
Data mining app that requires you to make an account or sign in with Facebook before being able to save a frame of a video as an image.
More like Shitta.
Bad ui
Awful.
I should have read the reviews first. Not sure why it has a 4.2 rating. Unable to access my videos to capture photos as is the reason i installed the damn app. Nope brings me to some damn social app of people to follow ?!?!? No home button no way to LOG OUT !?! Garbage should get a minus 5 stars for wasting our time ! DO NOT INSTALL !
I download this can't figure out what the hell it is you would think there would be a way to load a video of your own but nah fool with it waste your time then go back to play store to get an app that actually does what it says this is like social media of some kind or something
Can't figure out how to get photos from videos. App looks more like a social platform wannabe.
Is awful you need to sign in for use your own videos that's ridiculous
Since the latest update I've been logged out and now can no longer log in with Facebook as it says the account is already taken, we'll duh of course it has, it was taken by me, uninstalling as I can no longer do anything with this app
Horrible app. Horrible UI, took me way too long to find what I THINK was the frame capture tool, but I have no friggen idea cause the app would freeze everytime I tried opening any. Do NOT recommend.
All I wanted to do was capture stills from my videos. No instructions. Weird "missions" that I don't even know what the hell they are. Gave up trying to figure it out and uninstalled.
Too focused on the "social media" aspect instead of what the app was designed for. Very, very, VERY flawed. Non-responsive 90% of the time when attempting to get to certain point of video, and then when (or even if) you manage to, the image it gives after your selection is made isn't even the correct image you chose. Gives you hope to be very promising, then slaps in the face with a big "hell no"
This has to be the worst app I have ever used, in term of product/ux/ui. The ux is anti-intuitive and difficult to figure out what to do. The UI is non-responsive that I thought the app was dead. Don't bother going after fancy looking UI when you can't get the basics right. The product design is totally focused on the wrong thing. A social network that requires registration? For capturing a image? It's not going to happen.
I could use this in class as a case study in poor UX design and/or gold plating. I just want to grab video frames. What is it with all the missions, social media junk, etc please stop it.
I couldn't use it for what I wanted to. When I finally managed to find my way, picture quality was downgraded from the original media. Off to find a better solution.
Complicated to use specially when selecting a video and capturing pics. Frustrating!!!! Plus, why create a social media account? Uninstall
Logging in could have been an "option" instead of a "must login" to even open the app. That's ridiculous. Using your app's method would take ages to extract all the frames when or if needed.
Never did find out how to access my videos to work with. Felt more like a social network app. Needed stupid access to my Facebook. No. Just no.
COMPLETE GARBAGE. DOES NOT LET YOU CAPTURE STILLS; JUST GIVES YOU SOME INSTAGRAM KNOCK OFF. LIE WARE. AVOID.
You have to sign in with your Google or Facebook account just to use it.. No thanks. Just be an app and stop invading our privacy.
When i using this app and capture the picture but it's seems to different image worst app
Yeah, there is absolutely no reason for me to log in to your app. If I can't use it without logging in, I won't use it.
Does its job well the the UI is not intuitive at all.
It's really amazing!! I usually only take videos, so it works perfectly in extracting some of the best frames for amazing pictures
Unresponsive. Does not work without an account.
I love the old version. Thats all
Use it all the time to extract lightning strikes out of my videos, works perfectly!
God awful. Save your time.
Its advertised as a frame grabber but its some sort of social media app?
Can't even figure out where it is storing the stills taken from video. Certainly not in my gallery.
Perfect! Love this app! That is why you got my 5☆....

I read the reviews and this app is NOT for those with short attention spans. It took some getting used to and it was difficult at first. Swipe right to find your gallery, it's the symbol in the lower left that looks like a stack of pictures. Find your video, press the circle. Your video loads the use the jog dial. Small circle on the exterior to make big jumps or rotate your finger on the screen to make incremental frame type movements. Find your shot, press the circle to save. Goto the 3 dots in upper right corner and save to gallery. Voila!
