Taro - food and meal delivery for Android
It's a great concept and the chefs make delicious home style food but the app is really laggy and needs a complete ui makeover. I am giving it a 4 only because of the awesome food and delivery service. Otherwise the app itself deserves a 2 or 3.
App can't be closed on Android. Pressing back button several times doesn't close the app or take you to the Android Home screen like other Android apps do.
Update: the bug related to card chooser at the time of ordering is now resolved. Much better now and useful. delays are still observed on app startup. Although it is janky on LTE or on relatively decent network like HSPA+ ..
Gave my feedback multiple times. The app sucks and they keep pushing new menu notifications. Who the hell will wait for 1 or 2 whole days for somebody to cook something you are craving for unless its at home????.....i could just cook or order from somewhere immediately. This is just a stupid concept executed horribly and with no practicality in this kind of age with enough tech for things in terms of delivery and prep like ubereats or doordash or waiter Update: for your response, even if you hide behind the excuse of catering to specific needs, your delivery schedule sucks big time. There is a lot of room for improvement. I too hope this is useful to me one day. I really wanted you guy to succeed when i first heard about you and gave a lot of feedback over emails
The design of the app is horrible- it's so difficult to scroll through because the designers have not heard of the concept of whitespace.
Easy to use, intuitive app, lots of variety.
Been very happy with Taro (been with them since they were Qulinary). You get food delivered to your door, the variety and quality you may not get at restaurants. Customer service is wonderful. They're always quick to respond and resolve all my issues. My fav chef is Sedap Indo, hands down. Unique, superb, authentic. Good value too. Doesn't get better than this.
The app asks me to rate it every time I log in. Even after I hit 'No Thanks'
Kudos on the idea!! It's well executed too. I observed that when I try to scroll, it misinterprets it as a tap and takes me to next screen (full menu/chef homepage, etc.) I use a nexus 5x. Please fix it. Also, I was wondering if you have a (discounted) meal plan for entire week or month which would be great, if someone like me wants to choose an alternative for cooking on weekdays.
Pretty much stopped cooking at home
Very user friendly and efficient
Nice user interface, and good intiatiative. The app can't keep user sign into, required fresh login everytime. Try to upgrade it. Excellent work
The two stars is because the concept is really good. This would be of great help to people who need almost close to home food. But, 1. The food is way too expensive for the quantity they give. We ordered food for around $40 for two ppl, guessing that might be sufficient. But, it ended up that it was not even sufficient for a single person. 2. Second thing is the timing of the delivery. They deliver only between 12.30-4.30. It's too late for a lunch and also too early for dinner.
Wow! Kashmiri food!! Kashmiri food has a very distinct flavor, so if u are looking for regular mutton or chicken curry then don't order it , you need to be ready for distinct flaovours. I from the valley and the food I ordered matches to how it should be- yakhni was awesome and so was roganjosh. A note to the chef - keep up the authentic flavores and looking forward to more Kashmiri food
App keeps crashing at startup after latest update. - Update: Fixed now. New UI looks great.
This app is way too slow. When searching, it almost freezes and I can't type anymore. Then it starts accepting keyboard input after like 2 minutes and then freezes again.
Filters were put up as per my suggestion- which is great. Was able to delete my card information- even better. Somehow, the app seems slower than the previous version, but its much easier to use. I wish there is a credit system added for returned cooler bags, and I wish the delivery fee is reduced. I would order more often once these changes are made.. Great work, Taro! (I liked Qulinary better though) My office colleagues have learnt about Taro from me and would try it soon.
I think app is great but chefs are way too expensive. Its much cheaper to go to a restaurant and order food rather then ordering or picking up food from the chef's on this app.
And lots of bugs and crashes

You can't ask me to create an account before I see a menu :) Pass.

For a working couple family like ours, where nobody has the time to cook, this app is God sent! It's saved the day during so many meal times. The food is amazing and having tried quite a few chefs, there's no replacement for family style eating - which this app perfects.
Its one of those new apps you want to adopt early ;). I like the fact I can order authentic home-cooked meals by Chefs, rather than having to pick things off a restaurant menu. Almost like personalized meals made social! .. Thankfully, prices aren't super-high, given that the meals are probably made to order.
This app takes the worry out of having a great meal at home without the wait and hassle of going out especially during the work week.
I know of no other app which can boast of such a diverse marketplace of home cooked food. Perfect for those who don't want to cook at home but want more than just restaurant food. Also, excellent UI.
Food is superb, and the service nice. It costs just as much as a restaurant but the food is fresh, healthy and made with a lot of care.

Horrible experience. Last time, the driver gave me someone else's order and left before I could check it. After persuading, they gave me a refund and 10% off of the next order. So obviously I had to order one more time to make use of the coupon. This time, the driver left my food off at the front door. It was 20 seconds between the door bell ringing and my opening it. Phew. And I have an item missing this time. I'm never going to order again from Taro. They have a thoroughly careless team and drivers who absolutely don't care. I'll keep everyone updated when my story comes out elsewhere.
