מועדון הכדורגל של הפועל באר-שבע הוקם בשנת 1949, ומאז באמתחתו שלוש אליפויות ישראל (1974/75, 1975/76 ו-2015/16), שני גביעי הטוטו של ליגת העל (1989 ו-1995/96) וגביע המדינה אחד (1996/97).
המועדון מייצג את איזור הנגב, ובעל אוהדים בכל רחבי המדינה.
הנהלת הקבוצה אף מפעילה מחלקת נוער תחרותית ובית ספר לכדורגל. App FC Hapoel Beer-Sheva
