בית עזרא

בֵּית עֶזְרָא הוא מושב הנמצא במישור החוף הדרומי, בין אשדוד לאשקלון, ומשתייך לתנועת המושבים. הוא נקרא ע"ש עזרא הסופר. נקרא על שם עזרא בן שְׂרָיָה, שעלה לארץ מבבל 458 לפנה״ס בקירוב. מושב נוסד ב-28 במרץ 1950 על ידי עולים מעיראק, בתחילה היה המקום מעברה ששמה הזמני היה אשדוד א'. בשנת 1991 החלו לתכנן את שכונת ההרחבה. כיום בהרחבה מתגוררות כ-80 משפחות רובן בני מושב שחזרו לגור במושב. מדרום למושב בית עזרא נמצאת גבעה 69, ששימשה משלט וזירת קרבות במלחמת העצמאות. בקרבתו נמצא גם גשר עד הלום, שבו נבלם הצבא מצרי בניסיונו לפלוש לתל אביב. כיום חלק מאנשי המושב מתפרנסים מהפרדסים, לולים, חוות סוסים וכיוצא בזה. היישוב הוא חלק ממועצה אזורית באר טוביה.
