emberlight for Android
the app does not recognise the sockets. i tried reinstalling the app, different outlets for the socket, several emberlight sockets, with and without a bulb in it without success. the bulb does fade in and out but no communication between the socket and the app. any ideas how i can fix this? my phone is a note 4 with android 6.0.1
I've four sockets, two via Kickstarter, when they work, great but the app interaction is spotty. First, I had to make moods to get them to do what I wanted as the regular sliders wouldn't work with any consistency, now, just tonight, I can't turn off or on a set of lights that I turned on with the app two hours ago, yet another set works just fine...And don't get me started on the IFFT intergration that only works half the time...time to find replacements.
All issues corrected, but a reset to 'on' if power source is disconnected and reconnected would be good. Parents don't use the app and if set to off the light never turns back on
App was unable to link with device despite numerous tries and troubleshooting. Also device bulky thereby preventing use in older lamps with shades.
Did everything I could to get the app to work with the lights like they used to...
Such a buggy app, nothing works and i now wish i never bought these
The app and sockets are easy to use and set up. Nice work!
Works fine. Love it
Before installing this app, I'd always know what to expect when I unlocked my phone. Now I don't. The emberlight app is often front and center, even when I haven't been interacting with it. It's egregious. The screen you see when you unlock should not be a surprise. It fundamentally breaks the Android experience. Imagine if Chrome did this, putting an old tab in the foreground. Now imagine it was an incognito tab and you unlocked your phone in front of your grandmother.
I tried installing this on several sockets. The light blinks but does not respond to Alexa. And it heated up quickly. Very disappointed
Bought half dozen and they worked well a few months. Then app couldn't find them. Lots of factory resets, even new account. Emberlight team did their best and even sent a "clean "unit to see if would be recognized. All fails. Their final thought was my router. Now I'm seeing other reviews so with the same issues so eventually I think they will make a bigger effort. Right now I have 7 units in my closet. Will give 5 stars when the app works.
This is one of the easiest apps to use for a smart home product. The app detected the Emberlight and connected it to WiFi without any problems or hiccups.
The app has been great, and looks awesome but a few bugs have occurred that ruin it's ultimate convince. I get kicked off my wifi when I use it, like as soon as I open the app which results in my phone switching to my less than stellar mobile data when in my basement. Moods load quickly but the home page with all lights listed takes particularly long, and Moods doesn't turn off a light that is listed as off it'll leave it alone but will brighten or dim if listed as such. I'm using a note 4 if that helps in any way
I love my emberlights! They were easy to install and work great. I initially bought 4 but after just a few days I decided to buy 4 more. Great gift idea for anyone interested in home automation products.
A great little invention and app!
Great product. Very install to install and use. Can't wait to see what's next to come! Have three devices and may need to get more.
Great product, nice to see a product you've waited for finally arrive and work very well. Very solid product and easy to use app. One suggestion, a widget would be nice. Other than that, no complaints.
Works well with my devices.

I was an initial investor a few years ago when this was a project on Kickstarter. I loved the idea of a new company setting up shop to design something like this from the ground up. I was pleased with the build quality of the socket. It worked well for all of these months that it's been in my office. It even integrated fluidly with my home network and IFTTT. But of late, the app doesn't recognize the socket and I've factory reset it. But it still won't recognize the socket.
