Ello for Android
Very cool app, it's just very slow. Hurry up and fix this issue guys! Also, I don't really like the big green cash sign in the top right corner of the photos that might have a product for sale. Instead try to make it a little smaller and maybe not GREEN because it ruins the artsy look of anyone's photo. Very cheesy.
I like the ideas behind the platform, but it's still young and needs a lot of optimization. The phone app is cumbersome and slow. I'll stick around for a while to see how things progress - again, cool ideas, so I'd love to see Ello grow!
I like the desktop website of Ello, but the app is clunky and messy. They've attempted to translate the website directly into a mobile app, but it doesn't work.
A great app, but it is very slow to load - even after this latest update. But thank you for creating it, and thanks for the new "crystals" category! - @smalltreasures
I love the idea and wanted so badly to use it. But it's slow, and when I tried to post I pressed on the camera icon and nothing happens. Boy.
This app lets me do nothing. I can't open pictures of other peoples work. I can't even make a profile or upload images or posts. Literally a waste of space.
The app is ridiculously slow. You can't even upload properly. Fix this already
Keep crashing every time I try to upload an image.
Good but just not like an app it is more like a webapp and it makes it slow and laggy hope to make it more like and Android apps
A pain in the ass to use, you're better of using ello.co on your desktop.
Can't use the password reset feature; just get a blue spinning wheel.
The app wouldn't even open for me to start an account
Cannot reset password after installing an update...unusable right noe
I downloaded Ello because I am super frustrated with Instagram's ever-fluctuating algorithms and Ello lets you see posts in chronological order so you don't miss anything, and your following base won't miss your posts. So far I am really enjoying this platform and I am really impressed. -thejuniperdiaries
Love the idea but the app is really terrible. It's beyond slow, I've shut the app and been logged and out. It's telling me my password is wrong (it's not) and when I try to reset it the app gets stuck on a loading screen. So I can't even use it. Was really hoping for this app to replace Instagram but they need to fix soooooooooo much first
Slow and laggy app. I hope the bugs get worked out, I am excited to see where this goes. Galaxy S7 active
Been using ello since it launched. Tried using the Android version twice. Always let's me Discover, never let's me see posts from members I am following.
I want to love this app, but it is constantly crashing on my S7 everytime I go to the "post" screen.
Thank you Ello. ❤
It was fine now nothing is uploading it keeps crashing...
The idea behind this is beautiful, and I am loving the UI. The only downfall I'm having is that it is SO. SLOW. It takes forever to load or do anything. Hopefully this will be fixed soon!
This app is terrible on the Android. Every time I try to add an image, it just reloads to the previous view I was on and never uploads the image. These guys put way more effort into the iOS app and little to no effort into the Android one. That is lame. Fix you Android app, not everyone wants to have an iPhone or Apple anything!
Such promise Ello has and yet this app might just ruin it all! So unfortunate. It's way too clunky and slow, searching is horrible, and the whole thing seems counter-intuitive. I hope it gets better soon...
Sigh, I want to use the app, but it is pretty much useless for uploading anything. I guess Ello is the land of apple bigots and fan boys. Ello itself has so much promise, but this app ruins the experience for me. If I wanted to be tethered to a PC maybe things would be ok.
It is very painful to upload pictures. When you select a picture to upload it goes back to your feed page and to actually post it you have to try it like 10 times. It takes your patience and the fun away. Also I understand that you may not find your friends on ello and that it might be a good idea to suggest you people to follow based on your interests, but it should be a suggestion, not an imposition like it is done.
Ello wouldn't install on my Galaxy S2 but did on my Tab 2. It's bloated, slow & cumbersome. When I logged-in, it asked for my interests. Making selections resulted in me following dozens of Ello users I don't want to follow. There's no group delete. Ello had LOTS of promise when it began but its creators dragged their feet & blew it. Now, they're acting like they're desperate. I could've had a good experience today. Instead, I was force fed content by a POS app that wasted my time & wrecked my account.
I find the images loading too slow, it takes lot of time load up. And also the app works bit slower than the site. Hoping to fix it !!
Difficulty uploading pictures. It opens to something I looked at days ago every time I open the app. I just view it in my browser now. Bookmarked it and keep it on home page for easy access. I love ello, but this app needs some work.
For some reason, when I try to post photos of my glitch art, it happens to just freeze up for a second and refresh to my page. Other than that, great app!
I am on Ello almost since its public inception. But as the whole design community is a Apple snob, I had to wait for the Android version for a long time and after so much waiting all I got was a glorified mobile webiste in the form of an app. The app can be better in so many ways, but most importantly it needs to be fast. In the current state , it is just a pile of crap sitting on top of great inspirational material.
I find the app really unstable. It also doesnt connect to my media properly, it goes through the wrong directory so its hard to upload pictures and share from other apps. It crashes a lot, its really slow, and just seems to not work all that well in general. But pretty much all the functions from the site are there which is great, i usually use in browser to upload at the moment until it works better, but the app seems to support almost everything from the site version. Im sure it will be improved in time, i love the site so im hoping it will.
Unlike the site and idea behind the site the android app is just so painful and complex that it takes all the fun away. I just hope Ello is listening to this and try fix it as soon as possible.
the first time I downloaded ello, I was forced to delete it because my antivirus flagged it as malware & placed it in quarantine...not a good sign for a relatively new app. Hoping for a better outcome this time...
My second review 4 months later. The app is horrible. Cant access my own posts. Cant upload photos. You have a lot of work to do. Realy sucks because I've been so looking forward to this app working right.
I sent an error report a few months ago about Ello not allowing me to change my pass. I click the link and it goes to the change password page and sits there and loads. It did this on my S7 Edge and now on my Moto Z Force. And no., I don't have a computer. So this error has got to be fixed asap
The visual design isn't bad, but the two column layout and navigation is just terrible. Everything is slow. A lot of bugs need ironed out before it's really usable.
So glad to see the Android app. So happy you've got around to producing it. So pleased to install it on my tablet. It looks great. I'm happy to live with the teething problems - it's going to be great.
App Caches to much data 50mb every time i turn it on Not enough memory on phone for it Move to SD card would be good Now since update it not working
Photo posting from the app is now broken...when you select to add a photo, nothing happens. Occasionally it opens the gallery, but then the photo isn't uploaded.

Messy and slow. I installed the app, was required me to select interests from a list, and am suddenly following a bunch of profiles I didn't choose. Selecting a profile from the list of notifications takes me to a page from which I can follow the profile, but I can't link to the profile itself. Needs work.
