Disable Service for Android
I didn't like it bcz I want to block cell broadcast coz I'm fed up with alerts.... N I thought this app will help me bt when I click on the alerts opition in app to disable it... It replied couldn't gain root access... Plzz help me
The lack of description is scary. Root Required should be part of the app name, although I do think if you don't realize that, maybe you shouldn't be messing with how your phone works. Dev needs to put a lot more time into this one.
I've recently been hit by the Google Play Services bug and my battery life has been atrocious. With this app I disable GoogleLocationServices and GoogleLocationManagerServices. Helped my battery life enormously. Very good app. All other solutions have failed at improving my battery life.
Hey I have some problem with my applications. It shows unfortunately stopped. I have newest version but it shows that appa has been unfortunately stopped. Can you help me please.
Absolutely useless on my phone. It lets me look at each apps files but doesn't let me control anything. It won't let me turn anything off. Which I thought was the whole purpose of the app. Very disappointed, 1 star till it serves its claimed purpose. On Motorola G2
First off, your phone needs to be rooted....Secondly, if you don't know what you're looking for from this app, you shouldn't be using it. It works...it works...IT WORKS!!! It kicked my wakelock issues square in the arse...Immediately! My rooted, S-off HTC 10 running Nougat now deep sleeps like a baby. I was getting 15-20% battery drain over 8 hours standby, now I get 0% drain over the fist two hours, and about 1-2% over the next 6-8 hours of standby (5 days of 10 hour testing). I found the offending app (We all know which one), and tamed it. Great work Dev!!!
But very good. If you do not have a decent understanding of what this app does, or what root is, then don't mess with it. However, careful incremental use (do a change or two and try your phone before doing more) can result in memory and battery saving, as well as increased privacy. Thanks dev.
It work like charm. Solved my battery draining problems caused by google play services. Obviously you must have root access to run this app. Kudos developers..!!
This needs more documentation about how it works. Does it just run a service that auto-kills other services, or is it disabling them at an OS level? It would also be nice to have a few different profiles and a quick means of switching between them, such as when I want to run a single app and disable every other app's services while it is running. E.g. when trying to play a video that requires software decoding, I'd like to be able to devote the entire device to playing that video and shut everything else off.
There were battery hungry ad services running for a few apps I had which caused me to lose 20% overnight, every night. After disabling them I lose 0% overnight. That's quite a significant change. Really appreciate the work. Would definitely recommend to power users who have the issue I had.
I want this app to check for a process/ services (hangouts) and keep it running, not kill it. I cannot find any apps for that. So I want the app to check every few seconds and make sure hangouts is running. Or create a way to keep handouts always running. I am rooted, but don't want to go into the coding, I want an app to change the codes so that the service and process are running. Hangouts seems to auto shut off and I miss important calls. Please help me!!!
Just read about this, i had a similar app that disabled apps handlers (working almost the same way) but i can't remember the name hopefully it won't matter after this. EDIT: Truly one of the best apps I have installed, keep it like it is (:
I'm reading all these reviews and so many are people that shouldn't have smartphones are leaving one stars. You must be rooted in order to disable factory applications. Try reading and having a basic understanding of technology before writing something that makes you look dumb. The app is simple and works perfectly, exactly what they claim in the description.
People who are reviewing here are giving one star because this apps requires root access. This app requires root access you fools. Grow a pair and root your phone if you can otherwise stop complaining.
I was ready to throw my Pantech burst across the room. my phone was locked into updating ota at&t software update and frozen on the please wait screen for seven hours. found this tiny app after Calling at&t and they said I would have to accept the update as it was mandatory. I managed to get into system and delete cache file and then install this app to prevent it from starting again by simply taking the check mark out of at&tsoftware update dmc file. Thanks. Keeping my phone rooted was the main thing.
Allows to stop/disable services on rooted devices. Depending on the nature of a problem, may help decisively, where no task manager works. You may, however, softbrick your device too.
Used this app to disable systemupdateservice, which was preventing my Nexus7 from ever going to sleep in spite of DS Saver Pro. Very easy to get to service in question and disable it. Battery is back to lasting days rather than hours. Highly recommended
First of all. I have to thank the developer for making such a useful app. Works like a charm in speeding up mobile and decrease battery drain. Since it takes use of system, wrong setting may have undesirable effects, so take a backup in the app first.
Disabling auto update Services which previously drains the battery and cause over heating. Now my Phone is back to normal condition again. Thanks.
Used it to 1st disable the spying app 'IQService' inside 'Android System'. Phone was rooted. When debug-mode is enabled then it works great.
I do wish there was a widget to quickly get to a few select services. I use Google location once every other day and leave it off the rest of the time. Kind of a pain to get there.
Hey I have some problem with my applications. It shows unfortunately stopped. I have newest version but it shows that appa has been unfortunately stopped. Can you help me please.
Doesn't work. I try to uncheck the tickbox for a service, grant this app superuser access, then quick as a flash... nothing happens. The box stays ticked and the service continues to run. Yes, the device is rooted.
Stop giving bad reviews because this app won't work on an un-rooted device. And stop complaining if you messed something up. This app is awesome and works perfectly if you know what the hell you're doing.
failed to gain root access , what that means... it's not working kid , and people don't know how to use this app to disable and enable junks in phone. you better put a tutorial
Wish that there is... (1) a quick filter to show ONLY currently running services, and (2) saving of changes made in each session so we could always review them & roll back any changes if necessary, but it's WORKING FINE AS IS.
As it turns out, a lot of services are important. Don't go balls deep with service disabling. Only disable one thing at a time or you will wonder why the time is always wrong and location services never work.
Seems to work to disable OTA updates on my Nexus 5X. So far it seems to persist through reboots. Hopefully the service is not allowed to restart on its own. Time will tell.
OK, it only does exactly what it says, but that is absolutely bloody fantastic! I can't believe how simple, straightforward, powerful it is - and it's free! Truly the Dev is a star. Thanks.
tool to restrict unnecessary services. You may be surprised how many services run in the background, consuming battery & bandwidth. Kills ad/analytics services too.
one suggestion, can you make this app to support tasker? its so annoying that i have to enable a service because an app that i want to use cant running without that service, i want to make task in tasker that if i started that app, the service automatically enabled and automatically disabled when i leave that app
cannot re-enabling service. i disabled "imageasync" from google play service. then i realized, all images in google play games missing. i try re-enabling but images still not appeared.
It helped me to disable some useless services from Google Play Services that was draining my battery. After that, my battery now is lasting much more! Thanks!!
Messes up apps if you disable certain. Services, be careful
I tried to disable Anti-Piracy in settings but it just kept staying on I'm using AICP ROM but I need Lucky Patcher to use my bought apps offline
It work like charm. Solved my battery draining problems caused by google play services. Obviously you must have root access to run this app. Kudos developers..!!
Just read about this, i had a similar app that disabled apps handlers (working almost the same way) but i can't remember the name D: hopefully it won't matter after this (: Edit: Just remembered the name, Autorun manager, but i think it works in a different way, are handlers the same as services?
Can stop the snoops and the sniffers very nice gui a program that actually is designed to help you. Made the way I love, pure function not an add portal with useless app attached like 99% of crap on play store. Do not waste your time if no root.
Used it to disable SystemUpdateService on my rooted HTC One M8, so that I could avoid pocket updating my phone to Android LolliPOOP 5.x. It's a hot garbage OS and I won't be Google's test dummy for the Windows 8 of Android operating systems.

Only one drawback would be great if there was a way to disable this program before boot incase of boot loops (disabling system services can cause) maybe a flashable zip that defaults everything to how they were before. or maybe a check to see if there is more than 2-3 reboots then automatically disables itself. ive had to flash stock image because of this... shouldnt be too hard to implement.
