About SMS Backup
SMS Backup is a FREE SMS backup/restore application with all the features you want.
When you need to re-install the phone system; repair or change the phone, or want to keep your messages private from others, this app is the perfect helper to you which provides the easiest way to backup and restore SMS data.
As long as backup is done by this app, even if you have deleted all the messages, you can still check them with this app.
You have two ways to backup. To SD card or to a private E-mail. (If you choose to backup to a private E-mail, please set your Gmail account in advance)
Application features:
* SMS backup
* Restore SMS. This app will automatically import the data to the original position.
* Two backup types: Backup to SD card or a private E-mail, you can choose the backup type on your own.
* View feature: you can check the backup messages on SD card, even if you have deleted all the messages, you can still check them with this app without restore.
* Private E-mail setting. You can set your own private E-mail if you want to backup by Email. The backup files will be sent to your designated E-mail address.
* Delete feature. You can delete the backup files on the SD card as you wish.

This app get's the job done, however it can have a few more improvements. First of all, let the user know when it's successfully finished restoring SMS. Another thing I found annoying was if the app were sent to the background or the screen lock came on, it would stop restoring.

Rubbish app, installed on Galaxy S2, backed up contacts but to internal storage not external, then had to copy to ext SD, insert into new S5 and in the app found not able to select the card, so had to copy to internal storage. After doing this found the restore does nothing, tried several times with phone reboots...nothing...waste of time, crap app!!

Where does ut back them up to? Internal memory. So when you to a factory reset, you lose you messages and the back up file.. AVOID THIS APP.... AVOID THIS APP. .. AVOID THIS APP

I've been trying to save my text messages between 2 android phones, and not a single one works. Even though I save the messages to my sd card, the program refuses to see it when I transfer it to restore to my new phone. I can't even get the file into the new phone let alone restore the messages to the messaging program. I can back up files but nothing will open or read them. Niiiiiice.

I have installed sms back up on my old android phone 2.3.6 and now i have moved on kitkat version ( 4.4.2), so when i am trying to restore my sms back up, it is not working. Showing no error at all but no restore happen. but when I click on check option, I can read my old message without any issues, but can 't restore. So giving 1 star... :(
