It's a *plugin* for another app, so obviously it doesn't make any sense if one just installs the plugin but not the main app. Why can't people read or better: understand what they read...

This is a plug-in to another app, Threema. If you don't know how to read or are mentally retarded, you may have an issue with this plug-in.

I love the concept. People who don't want to use that feature don't need the permission in the main app, but people who want it can download this plugin.

I download it. I installed it, and it comes up UNINSTALL. WHAT's up with that.

Plug in for Threema Messaging App. Stupid people penalize an app's rating because they were too busy texting pictures of their food to their uncaring followers or fondling themselves looking at ponies to read what they were clicking "Accept" for. Maybe they're just illiterate. Wait, they have to be able to read to use a device that requires input. I wonder if they scream at people in the drive through at McDonalds because they thought they were at the Apple Store ordering an iPhone. Makes sense now.

Fantastic app & having the scanner extends Threema's functions even further. It's my go to app for messaging. Excellent VFM & a quality app.

This is a PLUGIN for the threema messenger app. There, it works like a charm and is really lightweight. However, if you try to use it as a standalone app, you will get frustrated, because that's not what it is. The publishers say so in the title of the app and in the description, but judging by the amount of people posting how it doesn't work as a standalone app, this is not sufficient. There should be a restricted area of the play store exclusively for those capable of interpreting simple written text.
