Threema

Nice Interface, secure messaging and a good feature set makes this a app a good choice, but two things are somewhat annoying which brought me to switch to signal. 1. Poor web interface: lots of connection interruptions and constant battery draining 2. Sometimes I miss out on notifications because the app icon just disappears from my status menu after I unlocked my screen. This is somehow not constant as for e.g. with WhatsApp or Signal.

As a visually impaired user of this app, using Voice Assistant on a Galaxy s eight, I'd like to make a suggestion. Would it be possible for the answer/decline options for voice calls to be buttons instead of having to swipe up and down? This action isn't accessible using Voice Assistant.

For all of you who care about privacy. This is the best messenger. You don't need to register with your phone number. End-to-End encryption is enabled by default, so even the guys at Threema have no access to your messages on their servers. I always hated WhatsApp for its lack of security and privacy. Hope to convince some of my friends to switch to Threema soon. Well done guys!

It has improved a lot, although you still don't see new messages immediately without opening the app. It has recently tuned their set of emojis but unfortunately removed my all-time favourite with the new set. I wonder why, because there's plenty of space to add more. Probably a sad UX decision..

Like it very much. Just one issue: seems to have a glitch when holding phone to the ear with active proximity sensor—voice messages are played over speaker, not earpiece. Annoying and potentially painful.

It's very nice that Threema generates an ID that can be used without linking your phone number. So it works perfectly fine on my tablet:-) it now also supports encrypted phone calls; nice job!!

Threema is under control of Russian Government.....???? I just came to know that threema is going to provide access of meta data of all communications to Russian Govt... If it is true then it's threat to our privacy..... And also today since last 6 hours threema app and website is not working??

The last update prior to this one erased my entire install, and said "welcome to threema" so I hope this one brings it back, if not will probably quit using

Threema kann so ziemlich alles, was ich möchte und brauche, und das gute Gefühl der Sicherheit ist sowieso unbezahlbar. Ich höre so oft, Threema sei teuer. Aber mal ehrlich, wie oft kauft man sich Müll für 3 Euro?! Ne Cola am Samstag abend ist teurer. Diese App ist jeden Cent wert, und ich würde sie immer wieder kaufen! Leider funktionieren meine Notification Badges seit dem letzten Update nicht mehr. Ich hoffe auf schnelle Abhilfe oder ein Lösungsangebot...?

Finally a save, encrypted and good messenger! (Calls, Groups and better Emojis ;)) Invite all your freaking friends to it!

I really enjoy using Threema as a secure alternative to other open and "curious" messengers. Update: Some of family switched to Threema and it is established as my primary messenger. Lovely!

Great app. But what can make it better is : multiple accounts, multi devices (phone, tablet, desktop, just like Wire)

would be the best secure chat app if threema add option to burn & auto delete messages within time limit..

A quick menu when you touch the message like telegram will be awesome; edit and delete messages for everyone too.

Video calling and better group membership management, then it's near perfect.

Make it moveable to the SD card... takes way too much space on my phone. Apps belong on SD cards! ????

Not getting the push notifications. Getting notifications only after open the application.

Offers all functionality that WhatsApp and Co offer as well, just secure and without surveilence.

It is a great secure message app. Do you have plans to introduce a standard message feature (non-secure), for contacts who don't use Threema?

Well made app with slick authentication feature. The only reason I don't use it's inability to del or even set an expiration on sent messages.

I like this messenger. It uses state-of-the-art End-2-End encryption. The unique poll feature is also very nice. I am missing self destructing messages, however. It would help keeping history clean. Not all messages need or should be kept forever in a chat log. Anyway, Threema is a really great app! Thanks!

I really love this app. It works really well, offers a variety of features and, most importantly, privacy :)

Need disappearing messages like signal has. You're looking at 2-500 contacts off the bat that will switch over from signal and all of our friends purchasing your app if so. Absolutely amazing app for anyone looking for secure messaging and the functionality is set up so nicely you've truly done a great job. We just need one more thing. Hopefully this catches the attention otherwise I'll ask everyone signing over to one star until it is noticed.

You need to fix the bug that keeps threema calls from not hanging up. You try to call someone and it beeps but neither can answer and you need to restart the phone to get rid of it.

Privacy first and that's dope. Needs a constant notification icon like BBM to prevent being killed by Android hence missing messages.

In meinen Augen ist Threema der beste Messenger auf dem Markt. Da lohnt sich der kleine Obolus für die garantierte Sicherheit und die super Funktionen, die in einigen Punkten sogar besser als die von WhatsApp sind, auf jeden Fall. Bug: Bei Sprachanrufen zwischen einem iPhone SE und einem Huawei P10 kommt es zu Verbindungsabbrüchen und vor allem zu einer Verzerrung des Gesprächspartners. Bitte fixen.

It's no ones business what I text other people about. I like this app because I can chat with family and friends and don't have to worry about what I say and it showing up on some feed about the crazy things people say, which they are only saying because they incorrectly assume texting is private. Well worth the money.
