FuelLog - Car Management for Android
This was wonderful. I started using it just as I bought two cars, and it kept every dime of expense for each of them neat and organized. For almost two years. Then I had to reset my phone, and lost all the data. Seriously? This application gets reinstalled automatically (thanks Google), but the data is not backed up at all. The 'pro' option allows you to do that manually. How 1997. This is a great tool, but it has a fatal flaw. Now that I have to start over again anyway (and have lost my only expense data), I will be trying something else. WITH an automatic backup.
I needed to reset the phone, after carefully backing up multiple ways but fuel log does NOT get backed up so my data us lost. I'd also love the ability to import historical data as I've had the car some time with the fuel purchases in a book but only just got the app. Then I could enter these in Excel, say, and import them as a csv or similar file.
Not as good! Changed to Samsung s7 edge. On my note 3 I could have 2 cars details on this app. Now I can't. Just the one car as far as I can see. Any help on this would be appreciated then I will give it a better star rating. But as this app hasn't been updated for over 4 years I don't think things will change!
Good detail. It’s great having all the stats on the vehicle in one spot. (My phone) I do wish there were some sort of cloud backup for information. I'm still unsuccessful in retrieving fuel log information from my old phone with this app.... Over all a great tool!
The app itself is really good. Its easy to use. Its well layed out It has lots of features and useful information. Just don't ever lose your phone. The data is not cloud based. And, don't ever buy a new phone either. There is no way to retrieve the data off the old phone, even with the purchased license key that is supposed to allow you to do that (I lost almost 3 years of data when I got a new phone). And, if you ever need support, forget it. Numerous emails have gone completely unanswered. Apparently, lots of other users are having these same issues with it. Uninstalling, and never coming back.
This was very simple, no bloat, tracked what you needed, transfered info easy enough, BUT with the new Android OS, you can't get into the options to change the fuel to "total" rather than "volume price". it still works, but you have to play with the cost to get the correct total. Last update was 6 years ago...
As a Canadian that lives beside the US / Canada border I need the ability to input the distance in kilometers and liters and the Canadian dollar price when I fill up at home. The feature I don't see, is being able to enter the distance in kilometers and the fuel in US gallons and the US dollar price. If it could then be converted to liters and to Canadian dollar pricing and give me both a miles per gallon and a L/100km. This shouldn't be too difficult as there are several currency converter sites to pull the relevant info.
First of all, I like the application very much and I purchase the key to unlock it. Recently, I was migrating my data from the old phone to Nexus 5 (android 4.4). Some how the import from excel doesn't work. (By doesn't work, it means the application itself doesn't show up and csv file in the system even though there's one if I use Astro(file manager) to check it). I hope someone will fix the issue for me. Thanks
Great app! Although it should have a missed fill up button and maybe a share function so I can send the info to my husbands app? Otherwise it's easy to use and was quite helpful! *Would be nice to add a photo album, take pics of reciepts for work done to vehicles. :)
I've installed this app to track the fuel consumtion, and got much more that I hoped for. You can log all cost associated with the vehicles. Yes, vehicles, because it will take more vehicles. It is also very flexible with units. For example, my odometer is in miles, but I prefer to have the fuel counsumption logged in l/100km. No problem there. I input the odometer in miles and fuel in liters, the app calculates and converts all units. Easy peasy. And last, but not least, the Fuel Log never crashed on me.
I love this app. It allows me to diligently keep track of my fuel consumption and my car's performance. My ONLY suggestion would be to put the decimal symbol on the main number pad since it is the most frequent symbol used. Well, for me, it's the ONLY symbol I use. I shouldn't have to change pads to get to it every time I'm entering a number. Please update this so the app can be a 5 star all the way!
This used to be a great app, then something happened. Either it doesn't want to work with my replacement phone (same make/model Droid Bionic) or it doesn't like 2013. It gives me an (invalid date) for 1/3/2013 and 1/10/2013 but not for 1/16/2013. The fuel calculations are not right. It used to be great, but this doesn't work. Please fix and update and I will change my rating.
This app is pretty good but needs to few more functions to make it great. Please add the following: 1. Automatically add the decimal place when entering volume and volume price... This drives me nuts. 2. Service reminders would be great.. The app should allow me to enter in the service and set the interval. Then based on the fill up mileage, send a reminder on the service.
Like the app, used it for years. Wanted to reset my phone, and I was conscious of the fact that the data is not backed up on the cloud, so I wanted to export the data. On the import/export page it says "The data is exported as a CSV file to the sd-card". Unfortunately, that's not where it goes - it goes to phone memory. Four years' data wiped. Feel like there's not a lot of point in using the app anymore.
Have been using for about 4 years have three vehicles recorded and have exported and imported across 5 devices with no problems. Decimal needs to be with numbers. Fuel map by wiki camps has decimal in good spot easier and quicker to use. Hope an update for this one comes very soon.
I've used this app for a long time, but unfortunately it appears this app is no longer updated. On the Samsung Galaxy 5, Android 4.x and 5.x, there is no way to access the menu to add vehicles, adjust settings or anything. It was a good run, but unless you have a hard menu key on your phone, you won't be able to access the menu system.
Bought the app (mistake #1) and tried to import years of data for my vehicles (the data was formatted correctly), but the app kept erroring out with no explanation. Tried to contact the developer for assistance (several times over a one month period) with no response. Can't get a refund. Probably a good app if you are starting of fresh, but don't buy if you have existing data you want to import.
Developers email address seems to be non existant as wanted to get an answer as to why i cannot get the options tab anymore. Cannot import or export data since changing my phone and tried writing to this guy but his email address is either incorrect or has deleted it. Did really enjoy using this app until now. Do not buy if you need to be able to save your data using the new galaxy S7edge phone and probably the std S7 as well.
I'm using this since last two years and finally decided to give-up & start using other app. The reason being it only allows limited no. of costs entries in free version. So if you are planning to use it for long term without upgrading to pro version, then you are making a bad choice as I made. Otherwise it was very easy to use and UI is very simple.
No more printing gasoline receipts, I just enter the info into the app, and I'm good to. Would like the decimal point to be on the front page since it's used more than once on each entry. And would like to be able to back up data so it doesn't get lost.
Will not calculate anything other than gallons used per mile which is useless. I can only keep records for one vehicle now add well. All the settings disappeared and I can't change anything. Used to be able to keep multiple cars now theI paid for this this app and have complained about these issues and have had no reply. I want my money back unless this works.
I just upgraded from a Galaxy S4 to a Galaxy S7. I backed up my data on my S4, but there was apparently no "menu" button on my S7 to restore the data. I was able to find a "floating menu" button using "Settings > Accessibility > Dexterity and Interaction > Assistant Menu". This allowed me to import my data, from the .csv, file backed up from my S4. Phew !! I'm back up and running, and havent lost years worth of data :-)
I was using this great app for last 2 years but lost all the data when I purchased license to export the data before doing a factory reset. Even tried reaching out to the App creator as mentioned the licensed version. Unfortunately Simon did not respond. Please make yourself sure that you have exported the data correctly. Sometimes it does not import back correctly. Would have rated this 5 star if Simon had responded...
I have been using this app for 4 years now and purchased the license 4 years ago. I changed my phone to one plus X and the settings menu has disappeared. I am able to add fill up etc, but can't export the data. I need to reset my phone but will lose all the data. I even mailed the developer, but he didn't even bother replying.. Please don't buy it...
I used to be able to track all 3 vehicles fuel. After upgrading to a note 5 last year, i could only add one vehicle. I can't access a settings menu either. I'm afraid to uninstall and loose all my saved data. I haven't found a fuel tracker that is as good as this one was.
Please put the decimal point back on the main screen for adding a fill up. When adding fill ups, the asterisk (*) is not used. Replace it with the decimal point. Also, it would be nice to be able to export/import data when I change phones. Idea submitted early January and no response yet.
Previously i used fuellog on nexus 4,it worked very well but when i switched to Samsung J7, i m nt able to add vehical details. Infact i m not getting any option like settings. Due to this not at all able to use the app. Forcibly i have to use the other app which i dont want. Pls solve the issue on high priority. Once the issue gets resolved, i would like to give 5 star to app.
Great app. Using it for 3 years to track car and bike fuel consumption and costs. Only issue is no server side backup. So if your (no SD card} phone dies like mine did and you haven't backed up for a month or two then you've lost the data.
This it's a great app very useful and surprisingly accurate; however, I purchased the full version ( which I rarely if ever do) for the functionality of the full version. Unfortunate it does not function like it says it will. I cannot add multiple vehicles which is what I truly need since one vehicle is a Harley and the other is a Ford F-450 and both the fuel and Tyne millage vary so greatly. Please fix this app, it's a great app and I desperately want the full functionality!
Seems like a fairly decent app but I have lots of data from another app in BlackBerry apps and developer advertises that he will assist with csv import process. Well, that's a flat out lie and false advertising! I've emailed him 5 times - no response. Thanks for nothing. Will apply for refund. LIAR.
Great app for keeping up with gas expenses. However, if moving to a new phone the menu to be able to backup and restore is no longer accesible since the app has not been updated in quite some time. An email to the developer did not receive a reply to the problem. This has forced me to move over to Fuel Buddy. I'm also a pro version owner of this app which is quite dissapointing.
I have used the app with great success for years. Just upgraded from an S5 to the S7, and now I cannot get into the settings menu. Whenever you long-press the settings menu button, it states the app does not support split screen. Send an email to the developer, no response. So now I can't continue to use it.
A good functional app that has almost all the important features you want in a fuel log app. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in years and the user interface is now sadly outdated.
This was the very first app I ever paid for back in 2011 but now with Android lollipop the left option button doesn't work like before and so previous functions associated with that button is lost, which is a pity
Close to beating MYCARS. But graphs are way too small. Don't seem to able to display 2 cars at same time.ah well after testing shone 15apps still found no replacement for MY CARS
I have used this app for several years but am no longer able to. With Android Kit Kat and prior you could hold down the Recents button to access an apps menu. In Lollipop that was removed but a floating button was added to accomodate legacy apps that still needed to be updated. Now with Marshmallow, that accomodation for legacy apps has been removed. As such, I can no longer use this app with my Galaxy S7 Edge as it has not been updated in almost 5 years.
I' ve used the Pro verison for two years, and would give 5 stars if there was a better method to backup data and transfer data to new or other devices. I was able to do data trans. before on other devices through import/export selection within the settings menu. There is not a menu trigger to be found, for the Note 5... Please fix and come up with better backup and transfer data method, possibly a backup to "Dropbox".
After over 2 years of saving data, I just got a new phone and I can't reload my saved data! How do you get into settings? Fix those issues and will be 5 stars
Since I have upgraded to the Samsung Note 5 I can not get to the menu to import my data that I exported from my Note 4. If I could import the data I would continue to use it since I paid for the license upgrade. Right now I don't want to use it if I can't export/import. Software needs needs to be updated.

I've been using this app for a couple of years and I can tell you that it is sensational. I've tracked all costs and the stats it provides is amazing. I have three vehicles logged and I know exactly what their true running costs are. It even tells me how much it will cost me to travel any given distance in either vehicle. This app is worth every cent. Congratulations to Simon and thank you. Oh and I imported my data to my new Samsung G4 by emailing myself a copy of the .csv backup file then imported it.
