Der LCH ist die Dachorganisation der Lehrerinnen und Lehrer Schweiz und schliesst kantonale Lehrerinnen- und Lehrervereine sowie schweizerische Stufen- und Fachverbände zusammen. Der LCH wahrt und fördert die Gesamtinteressen aller Mitglieder, ist föderalistisch und demokratisch organisiert, unterhält ein professionelles Sekretariat und eine Pädagogische Arbeitsstelle.
