dict.cc dictionary

Nice app except for one thing: The website version has "VERB" section with preterite and past participle forms for german verbs. For example rief an and angerufen for anrufen verb. Very useful but missing in this application.

Still one of the best German - English dictionaries, but bad app. Keeps on crashing, takes long to start the app, out dated interface

(Samsung Galaxy Note 4) I can no longer open the app. It freezes immediately after opening.

I clicked download from the server. And suddenly after downloading 98% it stops. And they tell to download it again. I tried it for 4 times. But no progress. Same thing happened. Please response me.

I know the online-desktop version of dict.cc and i always found it one of the best. The app is also really good! I need a german dict.and google translate is not the best but this app is very good and also it has a friendly interface! I love it

This app is great especially since the dictionary works offline. The only downside is that it's a bit laggy...

I love this app and use it all the time, but there are some things that make me frustrated. The search algorithm means that if you misspell/differently spell (with a dash, not a space for example), the app won't find the word; the app doesn't have as much slang/idioms as the online dictionary. The other irritating thing is that when you scroll, the app selects one of the words and plays the audio file, even though you can tap on a speaker icon for that function.

I believe that it's one of the best de/eng dictionaries with its strong database. This dictionary is one of the rare apps that I paid for a year subscription. However, it would be amazing if there would be a chance of reading an example sentence which shows the usage of words in context. Außerdem das, alles ist ganz gut!

Good app for a free dictionary. However on my Nexus 6P it always crashes once when I try to start it. The second time works.

My friend recommended me this App. But it's not good for Italian.

I used to use dict.cc, I am really happy to have its app as well. It is the most user friendly dict I've ever used.

Super Übersetzer für unterwegs/für die schule. Die neue Oberfläche ist auch sehr gut. Top. Allerdings wird das laden der Datenbank mindestens gefühlt mit jedem Update langsamer.

It is good to learn , but I wana give a suggesteion that please add Urdu language also, its a national language from Pakistan. Hope you will take attention on that. Thanks

It's not a bad app but what about showing the plural of nouns (German). For example I needed to check the plural of Nacht. After entering the word, there was every other related form but no plural. I chanced entering Nächte and there it was as a separate entry. So it appears that you have to try and guess the plural and if you are correct, it will show it. Am I using the app correctly, I wonder.

Every time you open the app it shuts down immediately. If you open it up again it is fine. This happens on all phones I have tested it on (3 different models). I purchased the full version but that hasn't made a difference. Could you please fix this bug?

The new update introduced UI glitches, the lookup of words now often doesn't work (using LG G3). Please fix. While the looking up itself is snappy starting the app takes a few seconds. The ads are subtle but the "Additional Features" button that the new update added is too prominently placed.

This app is generally good but needs a feedback feature. I searched the German word 'geizig' and was upset to see a racial slur, or rather a coded racial slur, in the English results. This word is no longer used and does not need to be here. As far as I can tell, the word is used exclusively by people trying to sneakily say the N word. Please remove.

Cant expect more than this in a free version. But, the Download location selection menu does not work. Without changing this setting, it occupies the precious phone memory. Also it hangs a lot. Can't afford this.

02/2017: Last updates fucked it up. 10/2016: I started using this dict back in 2006 when it was only a web page. Now, 2015 - Still the best one EVER ! Especially for German :) Thank You guys ! For the opportunity to use such quality for free ! Respect and Gratitude!

Great translations but one annoying bug: Could you please fix the automatic restart of the app sometimes? When I open the app, it closes and opens again what makes it kind of slow. I love dict.cc very much, it's just that thing which is a bit annoying. But else, great work!

I think this is the best online dictionary! Only one thing...could you please, add the plural of German nouns? It s very important for us, German learners.

It's very good, I use it, Why not integrate verb conjugation here? But not seperate application please, we do like one app for all

It would be nice if they give the audio through offline also every time when ever i want to check my pronunciation i need to go to the place where i can get connectivity. .behalf of this everything was nice till now..

I gave 5 star for dictionary contents but 2* for interface and 0* for pronunciation because its not clear low quality of voice and sometimes wrong and because its online! with a big delay anyway I'm plus customer

Very excellent dictionary with meaning of phrases, uses in different context. Problem with the functionality of latest update is really troublesome. Search while typing is really unstable and often stops in the middle or hangs. That bug is really making it difficult to use the app. I hope it will be fixed soon.

The results are really good, even includes a lot of slang. The app works well but start up speed and design could be better. Downloading a dictionary works but it's sometimes pain and could be better, once it's successful downloaded it works good.

Before the update, one can select and copy the words. but now , all have changed. please can you guys fix it cos I really need it. thanks

If for verb we can see all expand verb for other Pronouns its become the best Dic.

This used to be the best de to en dictionary I ever had but suddenly it started bugging badly and wouldn't even allow me to download the 'big' pack for my new phone. Quite a shame. Before this was even considering to buy the full version. Am now installing it :(

The new Tap and Long Press behaviors are very strange: whenever I try to scroll down, it detects as if I'm long pressing a word and instantly plays the pronunciation audio. This makes scrolling very annoying. Even when it's disabled, the long-press listener shouldn't be called. You never really tested this, did you?

The best German<->English dictionary for me which is free.

It'd lot better, if "SCREEN BRIGHTNESS LOCK" feature is added.

Whether on the Web or as an app. Dict.cc is the only dictionary I've been using daily(!) for the last 5+ years and this app is first to get installed on every phone I ever used. Really good de-en keyword base, reasonable non-intrusive advertising and full database download for fast offline usage. Job very well done!

Last update killed it. I hate where "additional features" is placed, also when changing dictionaries the text field gets cleared, please fix it.

OK, you do encounter the odd weird omission, but this is a really good dictionary overall, which provides invaluable help.
