Le Catéchisme de l'Église Catholique (CEC) est un ouvrage d'instruction à la doctrine catholique, résumant la foi, l'enseignement et la morale de l'Église catholique. Il a été promulgué le 11 octobre 1992 et publié solennellement le 7 décembre 1992. Sa rédaction a été suggérée par l'Assemblée générale extraordinaire du Synode des Évêques de 1985, vingt ans après la fin du concile Vatican II et approuvée par Jean-Paul II le 7 décembre 1985. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) is an instruction book to Catholic doctrine, summing up the faith and moral teaching of the Catholic Church. It was enacted October 11, 1992 and formally published on 7 December 1992. Its wording was suggested by the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops of 1985, twenty years after the Second Vatican Council and approved by John Paul II December 7, 1985.
