Eclipse Calculator for Android
Which futur eclipses will be visible from my location? And from the antipodes? What they will be like? How long will they last? And in the past, how many eclipses have there been? All these and many other questions about both, eclipses and planetary transits, are answered with this tool. Now, all the information about these events in your mobile thanks to this application.
This applicaction has the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya and Universitat de Barcelona.
Characteristics:
* Access to data of all solar and lunar eclipses and planetary transits between 1900 and 2100.
* Computation of general circumstances of the phenomenon, including global visibility maps.
* Computation of the local circumstances of the phenomenon for any place in the world (beginning, end, duration, altitude of the Sun or Moon above the horizon, ...)
* Simulation of the phenomenon from your observational point.
* Choice of observation place from a data base, manually or from the GPS coordinates.
* Available in English, Catalan and Spanish.
Wow! Excellent!
Great App
Well made app
Amazing
Very good app
It's good for getting the times, but the coordinates (at least for Mercury) are wrong and unexplained. Even Google and Wikipedia cannot tell me what a P or V is. But the azimuth is wrong whether based on North or South. Also it doesn't remember what location you are searching on, so you have to select it each time you start the app which is extremely annoying.
It calculated tonight's eclipse to be 8 hours later than it actually was. I'm glad I had other sources of info or I would have missed it. I suppose it can be used to get approximate date so I can Google it.
Lunar eclipse simulator doesn't work. Everything else is great.
Versatile and easy to use.
I thought it would be a partcial eclipse but it was actually a total eclipse thx to this app
5 starts for you
Good solid little app, simples
Minor irritations, cannot fix home position, always defaults to Spain. No explanation for the layman for map diagrams. Simulations work well.
It told me there would be a 3.3% eclipse where I live, when it's supposed to be about 90 % here in Norway
No graphics boring text display missing eclipse info
Great app, very handy. Easy to use.
Simulation uses UT, should use my tablets time.
Does what it says on the tin
I love mother nature and learning more about her always keep me happy I love your app
Can search by date or time, and info includes eclipse maps. Exactly what I want without extra fluff. I don't need.
I like it
Wow! Excellent!
Amazing
Works perfectly. Too bad the location cannot be taken from the GPS.
:) enjoyed using even if only for the day fairly easy to navigate would definitely use again
Wish it converted to local time
It rlly great
Completely perfect
...it's pretty clunky to use. Always resets to all dates between 1900 and 2100 so you have to input the dates every single time. The maps are good but the zoom feature doesn't work very week. It seems like the default location doesn't override very well because when I try to search by location I get the same results even after changing the location which is strange.
It's quick, easy and the simulations are great. My only gripe is that all the times are in Universal Time... I'd love to see a setting that would allow users to change that or - better yet - automatically adjust the time for the location :-)
Really useful application! Easy to use and very helpful. ..Thanks for the application guys.
It gives great data, but I don't see any shadow when I use the simulation mode, no matter where I scroll to in time.
We love this app
Timing is off and it always goes back to default location in Spain
Good,
Does what it says on the tin. Calculates visible eclipses from a given location. It's pretty ugly, though, and a 17 meg download. Seriously, folks, that's just nuts.
Excellent! It gets the job done with a minimum of fuss. Minor irritants: 17M? Really? Ergonomically speaking, it is so-so, and it could vastly benefit from results caching. And perhaps from an export to calendar, but this would require far too much privileges.
Gr8 app.. Shd add more features as, 1. Transit of one planet across other 2. Planet occultations by moon & other planets 3. List of locations from where the event is visible 4. Option to view the event time in local time m sure, adding these features will make this app the best... All the best developers..
It only needs an automatic location function from device GPS sensor and to remember last location query. Maybe a UI refresh would be nice.. But I liked a lot the idea and how its presented.

However, please add an option for reminding an event at certain time before it takes place. Also, add few additional details for the event. Please improve the map presentation for good viewing and zooming. Great job and good luck developers.
