About Toronto Beaches Water Quality

If you are heading to the beach, pack your sun screen and download Toronto's new beaches app. This free app provides you with the latest information on beach water quality.

From June to August, beaches across the city of Toronto are tested for water quality and are staffed by lifeguards. Water samples are taken daily and tested for E. coli bacteria. Toronto Public Health uses this information, along with other indicators, to assess the risk of infections resulting from swimming in the water. This app will give you updates on beach water quality as soon as they are published.

Features

- A list of supervised beaches in Toronto
- A map of Toronto beaches
- Daily updates of E. coli readings and swimming conditions
- Past E. coli levels in beach water for the current year

Please make one for drinking water quality. It's time to clean up the toxic soup that is growing worse daily. You name it, it's in there!

This app is just what I wanted. My family lives near a Toronto beach & having an app that quickly tells me if a particular beach has safe water conditions takes the worry out of my head. Thanks for this app Toronto!

Z70%

Nice simple design and user friendly. However e-coli results are often published a day or two late, which makes the app redundant if you're trying to plan your swim on the same day.

Great start but needs a refresh button so that user can manually activate update to ensure that data is most current.
