Now you can watch TV anytime, anywhere with Shaw’s FreeRange TV app -- from live sports to on-demand movies and shows, all rated and ranked. You can even download kids shows to watch on the go without an internet connection. And it's included with your Shaw TV subscription.

Requirements & Restrictions:
- Android 4.1 & up
- Playback on rooted devices is not supported
- Available to Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct residential TV subscribers
- Two devices per account can actively stream video on FreeRange TV at one time
- Five devices per account can be registered for download-to-go functionality. Ten unique titles can be checked out per registered device for up to 30 days.
- Based on your subscription and content restrictions, only select on-demand programs and TV channels are available
- Streaming is available anywhere in Canada while connected to a WiFi or cellular network (data charges may apply)
Functions:
Using your Shaw account and WiFi/cellular network information, the Shaw FreeRange TV App will:
- Enable streaming of live or available content in accordance with Shaw’s License Agreements, content agreements and regional restrictions.
- Synchronize to the schedule in your current region and effect blackout requirements through use of approximate network location and device.
Using your Photo/Media/Files permissions, the Shaw FreeRange TV App will:
- Temporarily store, modify or delete the programming content stored on the device.
- Test access to protected storage for the purpose of facilitating user data retrieval and use of content for registered devices to facilitate technical assistance should network access be denied and to increase the application productivity.
Using your Network access permissions, the Shaw FreeRange TV App will:
- View connection information and see available Wi-Fi connections to enable the app to connect to the Wi-Fi network;
- Detect the network state, read the device status, detect running apps, view app history and identity to implement network preference.
Other permissions:
- Utilize local notifications for download progress;
- Read and utilize device accessibility features
App access is only available to Shaw TV subscribers. Channel availability is based on customer’s TV subscription and Shaw’s mobile distribution rights. Subject to internet connectivity.

Great app, use it all the time when out of the house. People complain about it not supporting Chromecast but I assume this is so that you don't give your password to all your freeloading, non-cable subscribing friends to watch cable at their place for free

I only use this app when my satellite is down and it is really annoying that I can't cast it to my TV using Chromecast. I pay a lot of money for Shaw satellite and I EXPECT to be able to this app as an alternative. What is the problem Shaw?

It's weird... watched a show yesterday, now just a black screen App works on the IPad, but not the Tab A..... something has a glitch.... uninstalled app and reinstalled, but no results.....

It works and it's great on my phone and android box. However. On mobile networks it can use up to 600MB in 30 minutes without a way to change the quality of the stream. Will be 5 stars if this is implemented.

Please add support for 18:9 aspect ratio for newer devices that support the taller displays such as the Pixel 2 XL, Galaxy S8, and LG G6. Also please consider enabling stretch to fit for video playback on these taller screens. Thank you!

I can watch my shows wherever there's wifi or you can use your data. Extremely convenient for people on the go and wants to watch their favorite TV show / news. Works perfectly on my Android.

The streaming works pretty well on WiFi but I'm already paying Shaw for my cable service so the lack of Chromecast is unacceptable. People don't mind watching on a small screen when that's the only option, but we have big screens with Chromecasts, let us use them!
