About Network Monitor
Network Monitor is a diagnostic tool which periodically tests your network connection and logs the results to a database on the phone. The goal of the app is to identify which cell towers around you may have connection problems.
It tests the connection by retrieving the main Google page (http://www.google.com) in two different ways:
* An HTTP connection (the type of connection used by the browser and other web apps)
* A basic socket connection (a type of connection used by other apps)
It also logs other information about your device and connection status, such as:
* The network type (WiFi, mobile/EDGE, mobile/HSPA, etc)
* The WiFi SSID or APN
* The device's location (latitude, longitude)
* The cell tower's ids
* The signal strength (from 0 to 4)
* Other information...
You can send yourself a report of the collected data, in several formats (Excel, CSV, HTML, KML, Gnuplot, the raw database). The report will also contain a summary of the success rate of the connection tests, per cell tower.

Great app and it provides functionality not available elsewhere. But, put an option for the notification icon. All apps have such an option and the user chooses if wants to see it. Here the notification is enforced, it is not useful and takes space from the task bar. It is possible to have notification without icon on task bar (low priority). Please add this option.

I love the functions and reporting. But reading (download speed) error by -70% compared to Ookla. No upload speed data was collected. Tested few times.

Updated: After several reboots and switching back and forth between data sources, my WiFi stated working again, so now I can see if it performs as hoped ( make a record of Comcast Internet outages, which we seem to get a lot of).

Only issue is that log file can contain only 100 rows. Earlier this issue was not there. I tried it in many phones but in vain. Pl resolve it

Includes a built-in email server to send highly detailed logs & spreadsheets. Not much help on that feature, but it does in fact work very well. Highly customizable data recording, built-in repetitive speed testing, general all around awesome app. Wondering if you're losing your connection? This app will definitely tell you. Had an intermittent issue with Time Warner that was very hard to pinpoint. This sweet little program was exactly the solution I needed to prove that the issue was with TW and not with my WiFi network.

Could use a length setting for the speed test. Enabled it and got distracted. Later I decided to run a log in the background before driving as I was having data issues... ate up over 500mb in ~20 minutes. :(

This is a great app - one I've been looking for for some time. Straightforward and easy to use but lots of options if needed. I really like the notifications for failed tests - very good way to highlight lack of connectivity. Great work!

Works well. We have used it to check network signal stability.

Really great app. But I am finding the signal accuracy for my mobile data not accurate(signal bars always 3 even in zero network, dbm & asu ranges not changing)
