Music Boss for Pebble for Android
Great app! I love the functionality. However... is Netflix support broken? It doesn't show up as an initial option for adding an app, and it doesn't seem to work anymore even when added.
As per earlier reviews, this now seems the only way to control amazon music via the pebble. It also works with BeyondPod, I now just have to get used to launching this app first then choosing either beyondpod or amazon mode ...
Downloaded for Amazon music controls. So far so good. Spent survey Google dollars on this. If everything still works fine. I would skip. Hopefully the app still works Jan 1.
After a bit of fiddling, is a wonderful program for controlling Audible and Smart Audiobooks. Flexible yet simple.
Performs beyond expectations. Great app, would absolutely recommend this to anyone who with a smartwatch.
Set up has been a breeze so far. Options can take a little trial and error depending on the apps being used but that's to be expected with support for so many different apps available. Poweramp V3 Alpha broke support for the native pebble app and this works great and provides much more customization. Keep up the good work. **Could really benefit from a trial or something to test 1st since there are so many different apps to use and going the refund route can be a bit bothersome in some cases. {{{{{EDIT}}}}}} Google is really screwing up stuff. Thank God I dont have my apps on auto update.
Really and indispensable app for the Pebble for anyone that listens to a lot of music or podcasts especially from multiple sources. I use it daily and it has been a necessity for me from the beginning. Thank you so much for the continued updates and support.
Terrific app. It's the main use for my Pebble and it's awesome to switch from Podcasts to Pandora without taking my phone out of my pocket. Thanks for this app!
Love the app, but I'm not getting any text from the classic view on Pocket Cast. Works good on Google Play Music, but no adjustments capture the artist or track title for Pocket Cast with the most recent update.
Great app! However, it's recently started to become unresponsive periodically. It used to be that I could simply hit the play button on my pebble and it would just start playing whichever app I had selected. Now it sometimes takes force closing to get it working again. Also, for whatever reason, youtube tends to not cooperate well. When selected as the app controlled on my watch hitting play will trigger one of my other controller apps instead.
Artist/Song data from the YouTube Music app doesn't show up. App UI is all over the place. Update: I figured out a way to display data from the YouTube music app. Changed app rating.
I found this much more useful than the stock pebble music controller. Typically I am switching between just spotify and podcastaddict. Occasional quirks but one of the first apps I install on pebble. I'll keep using it until the pebble system falls apart.
App works very well, response time between button press and actual commands is not much different than with the default music app. Only issue is with album covers. They work when a song starts, but once the next song begins the art goes away and I have to turn on the phone screen to refresh artwork. Overall still a very useful app.
Got it for jango radio since i live in Israel and need vpn for pandora. Could only control volume and see song played before the app now everything works, even likes. Highly recommand don't waste your time searching 10nis is dirt cheap.
I listen to many podcasts and controls Podcast Addict perfectly. Love seeing the podcast art on the watch too.
Nice apps on the watch, but whenever I hit the back button on the watch while on the player interface. My Pebble restarted itself. Please fix it.
This is useful for controlling more than just default music apps. It also can display album art if you want.
Use it for music and audio books, there are occasional delays but definitely a vast improvement over the default music app for Pebble.
We Pebble fans know graphics wise, a Pebble doesn't hit the heights of Android Wear, but Music Boss does a damn fine job of displaying your album artwork on the watch. Minus one star due to hit and miss performance.
3 different phones I've had a volume issue where I'd press volume up or down and although the device does change volume, the watch shows the same % making it impossible to really know the level you're listening to it at
Compare to build - opening players don't work 80% of time mean have to open app manually or using tasker.Pause/slow to respond so volume.Because of using tasker to start music loosing poit why I paid for this app in fist place.
First I can't choose the apps with my pebble, then if I have opened one of my apps on my phone it self it only can control the volume and play/pause button. If I want to go to the next song in play list I need to open the pebble music app. In other words this app does everything what the music app does it self. Kinda a waist of purchase.
I listen to many podcasts and controls Podcast Addict perfectly. Love seeing the podcast art on the watch too.
Love how I can listen to music without touching my phone please keep making improvements even tho Pebble have gone
Worked perfectly with the otherwise quite obscure Style Jukebox! Very configurable. £1.89 well spent.
Compared to the built one it can not handle with YouTube (no title nor artist).
And it's spamming me to rate it, "heart it", etc. I must admit, I don't appreciate being spammed by an app I already showed the highest form of praise: I pulled out my wallet.
Setting are too difficult to understand
Great
Used for years, heaps better than the default music app from Pebble
A must have for any pebble owner who enjoys music.
Beautiful
I'll be honest the stock pebble watch app works very well so I had a hard time figuring out exactly why I would want to use this app and what makes it better. I don't know if the stock music app used to be worse, but it works fine now. I tried to use this the 1st time and stopped using it. I tried it again and really tried to look into all of the features and what was better. Having the volume controls as the 1st option and automatic opening of the app when media starts make it worth it for me now.
I use this almost exclusively now. I listen to audio books with one music app and normal music with another. I like being able to switch between them. However I find that the app will freeze on my watch a lot and I often have to spend up to 10mins restarting my watch, turn the Bluetooth off/on and even unpairing the watch and phone and reconnecting them before the app will start to work again. I regularly update all apps on my phone and watch as well, so I'm not sure why it stops working.
I listen to audiobooks on several different apps and this has worked with all them as well as Play Music, Youtube, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. When I did have a question the developer responded to my inquiry within an hour with exactly what I needed to get things working. Using with a Pebble Time Round and loving the ability to leave my phone in my pocket...
It's definitely better than the default music app that comes with the pebble, and the features it attempts to employ are fantastic, but it seems to be hit or miss when it comes to actually executing it's actions. More hits than misses, for sure, but when it doesn't work it simply won't do what it doesn't want to. Sometimes it will play media, but won't stop it. Or sometimes it will adjust volume, but nothing else. Also, won't display album info, ever. Overall, hope it gets fixed up soon, could be a great ap
This isn't the complete media control solution if you can't switch playlists or stations. Side note: I had to reload the app to my watch after downloading the android app in order for other media apps to be switched directly from the watch-a minor inconvenience. Update: great communication from developer! I hope you implement this feature soon. Would update to 5 stars
Only thing this app does compared to the preloaded music app is that it allows you to switch apps. PLEASE ALLOW THIS APP TO CHANGE PLAYLISTS. That addition will make this app worth it alone.
** Update -- after spending several hours playing around with this app, I have finally gotten it to work properly. It would help if the descriptions for the settings in the app were written in English as opposed to complete gibberish. I therefore give this app 3 stars for the difficult set-up. Once it is set up, it does perform its functions as advertised. Erratic behavior and difficult to configure. I set up Pandora and my Samsung music player apps to work with this. Sometimes the Music Boss app on my Pebble Time Round will switch between the two music apps, and sometimes it won't. Most of the time, the music information displayed on the watch face is the opposite of the source that is actually playing (e.g., if Pandora is playing, the watch face will display the information from the Samsung music player; if the Samsung music player is playing, it'll display the information from Pandora). Using the Music Boss app on my device, I also configured it so that the middle button is supposed to open the Music Boss app from the watch face if I press it 3 times. It does not work.

Developer kindly explained it is not a bug. music boss sport read fitness data from supported fitness app not from pebble watch itself. works fine with runkeeper and runastics. _______________________________________ the music boss addon only show heart rate on pebble2, others readings show zero counts. can you fix it?
