Seems like a decent app but has a bug. If I press a backspace on my written regex, the symbols doesn't get removed.

I really like this app. I'm looking forward to new lessons. Bug: arrows on the keyboard don't work to move on the entered text.

one star until you fix all the bugs like digits and backspace not working.

Nice and quick Regex tutorial. I think adding a small dictionary of Regex functions would help with some of the later prompts.

The actual idea of the app was good but the running window was not well made. It doesn't have any tip for error and if you put an incorrect var/expression it let's you pass. Moreover, it let's you pass if it's a very wrong expression but would not let you go even if you give an alternative regex expression. It's nothing like regexat all. Very disappointed.

G70%
by G####:

Really well done especially for a free app. Could provide a little more feedback for incorrect answers but.. it's free. And just like the other guy said, I would definitely pay for more lessons if they are as clear and well presented as this one.

N70%
by N####:

I used to associate regex with terrible headaches and hard to read code. Using it when there wasn't any other way to get something done. That was definitely a mistake. After finishing the tutorial in Hour of Regex I was inspired to dig deeper into regular expressions and learn more advanced concepts. Thanks for taking the time to put this app together. Regex has definitely saved me a lot of extra keystrokes.

N70%
by N####:

Good little primer of the basics. Doesn't cover {} repeats, references or anything more advanced, but gives a flavour of the power regular expressions have.

N70%
by N####:

Awesome program, very clear and informative. Regex kinda confused me sometimes but this helped clear it up! Can't wait for the next update :)

S70%
by S####:

Bulldozed through this very user friendly app. Would be happy to pay for this app alone, let alone any future lessons added.

N70%
by N####:

Please place a line so that student using a tablet can see where to tap to bring up virtual keybd to start typing. Regex is text, after all; app text string is usually at least on a line as here for this review.

I70%
by I####:

I like the concept of actual input of Regex in this app. However, there are bugs that need to be fixed and new levels need to be added. The lessons keep repeating over and over, and there is nothing new to learn.

N70%
by N####:

Lacks content, contains only the very basics that can be learned in 5 minutes.

B70%
by B####:

I can't add numbers to expressions, so I used [:digit:]+ instead, which got a check mark for sentences with numbers in them, but it got the red X on the numbers-only strings - although the strings got highlighted in yellow. Quite big bugs.

S70%
by S####:

Great introduction to regex and it only takes an hour! Just one issu though: backspace wouldnt work for me so if I made mistake I had to select and cut which was inconvenient, please fix

N70%
by N####:

Very poor coding, arrows on the keyboard do not even work. Too much time spent figuring out how to enter the response. Trashed it.

F70%
by F####:

Great app! Was confused at first about how to enter my answer to the question, but after I found it, I breezed through it. Awesome app to help people starting out with regex.

N70%
by N####:

A lovely, if slightly buggy, introduction to regex. Great for A level computer scientists! Change to Google keyboard if you're having problems

I70%
by I####:

Neat introduction to the basics of regex. Only thing keeping it from being a 5* app is the fact that some keyboards don't work.
