Freedom Wi-Fi for Android
My "fully compatible" phone won't connect to any of the Freedom hotspot.
It works! Provides me with wifi
I'm a Freedom customer but this app doesn't work for me.
Most of these hotspots are just freedom mobile stores I think...
Wow this works great, connects well. Happy to be with freedom..
awesome works great for me.
Freedom is owned and operated by Shaw
Good Canada
Easyyyyy
Works great
I've been with Wind for years. The change to Freedom introduced this feature, and I won't lie, it's super handy. I don't have to worry about finding passwords for wifi, as it just automatically connects anywhere I need it to. I never really go over my data in the first place, but when I do, this app saves me. 5 stars for sure
Just switched to Freedom and couldn't be happier. Smoking sweet deal on a 12 gig plan and this wifi app is great! Connected in the gym flawlessly. Definite glad I signed up on the tail end of when most of the LTE is up and running in the city. Now just got to wait for better coverage out of town.
If I could give this app or company 0 or a -10 I would. The app never works even if I'm right beside the freedom store. The company is the worst. Roaming always comes on even if I'm sitting in my house. Don't go with them.
l can't make it work so l keep beind told to pay for more data and l already pay over $100 per month for phone service. WIND was better. They gave me unlimited service for 40$/month. My phone is so glitchy no matter how often l take it in for fixing.
Don't you love it when people give one star reviews to an app then uninstall? Y'all should stick with the big 3 if you're that impatient. This app is rough right now, it's a good idea to have hotspots but the app is not exactly optimised yet. I'll keep it and definitely hope for updates as the idea for hotspots is an excellent way to save my data for when I really need it. (Driving with gps).
Had this app since it come online & have never been able to hook up to any WiFi.. Very disappointing! Make sure it works before you offer it!!????
Still sucks. Still a lot of places where you can't get connected to the internet much less cell coverage as well. Christ, even when I'm just outside my home have this problem. They advertised better coverage on the Canada Line which is false. I still have problems getting connected between Langara and Broadway Station. I think the only reason for the name change is because this network had established such a bad reputation under their previous name: Wind, they decided to disguise themselves under a new name ( Freedom ) in order to draw in new clientele.
I cannot forget the network on my phone. Very annoying when riding the ctrain in Calgary, connects at every stop and then disconnects as u depart station. Nice service when waiting for train but not practical
I live in Toronto, so it's useless to me here, isn't it? But thanks for letting me delete apps to make room for it.
Can't connect to a correct network. I'm sitting inside where I am connected to a Shaw network in location noted by the app as having Freedom Wifi but because my GPS says I am 100m away, the app says no freedom wifi is available
Should auto connect. Limited hot spots. When I'm successful it dies a really good job of auto disconnecting me. I have to remember to open app to connect or else i waste the opportunity. Should resemble shaw or Telus.
The app doesn't even work... Everytime I try to connect it says "unfortunately, freedom WiFi has stopped" every time never had any other result
It's horrible. I should of stayed with the company I was with. What a complete waste of money. Even Rogers was better then this.
I think it's great to have access to the Shaw hotspots, but why do I have to open the freedom Wi-Fi app to connect? Why can't it automatically connect to the WiFi when I'm in the area. I use to have Shaw internet and it would do that so why can't freedom WiFi do the same being it is owned by shaw
I have been a customer for many years so needing to be a customer isn't a factor for me. When I try to connect it just says to hang tight while it's looking for closest server. Then it times out. Have tried multiple times with no result. Currently not in a weird it rural location, right by Lougheed mall at the moment
Freedom WiFi app is like a back door to access Shaw open. Some ppl misunderstood it. Chances are, it works when Shaw Open WiFi signal is within range. If you are not in a Shaw Open hotspot zone, you will not be connected.
I can't believe a ton of people gave it one star. If you want it to work #1. you need to be a Freedom customer you CAN'T use the BIG 3 with this app. #2 if your phone isn't compatible that's YOUR problem. This app is 100% legit 5 Stars for Freedom!
No value pnly shows stpre locations and never connects to anything in hamilton or burlington. Silly useless app...just like SHAW taking over our great phone company and running it into the ground with inferior service and options...delte app
Can never get wifi connection
Its bad idea its not working at all
Where ever I go it said me not availiable still i am a freedom customer my be it works only when I use city Train shaw has to work for it to save more money from our data usage.
This app blows I'm not even ten ft away from hotspot an not in range this is how it is with every apparent WiFi location I'm a freedom/wind mobile user an if ur partnered with shaw all these options should work but they don't wanted give no stars but it not an opption
Very bad app
Very simple and easy to use. No complaints automatically connects to shaw hotspots. Freedom and Shaw are the same company so makes sense.
One star cuz when things should be technically easy it's sux that much more when it doesn't work
I sat just beside the freedom booth, it tells me no wifi in range.
out of range...
Not much
Great concept but nowhere near useful at this point. I should be a prime customer to utilize this app since I work in Vancouver but live on the island where there is no freedom coverage but Shaw connections everywhere. However, there are no hotspots in range anywhere at my home but again many Shaw Wi-Fi spots are picked up in the area. If I have to drive to a hot spot, what's the point of this app? I may as well drive to a coffee shop and use their Wi-Fi for free instead of using my monthly allotment.

It always says I am out of range.
