CBC TV

Useless app. Plays the commercials very loud and clear but will not play shows , Cornation St. Or Kims Convenience show. Tells me to install app which I have already done. Very, very frustrating and annoying. Would give no stars if I could.

Ad experience is terrible. Stream error boots user back to menu after ads, and when video is restarted, ads play again. I would gladly pay a couple of bucks a month for an ad-free version.

Frequently, the show I'm watching starts over from the beginning after the commercials are displayed. Does not handle fast forwarding well. Closed captions don't work unless you start the show over from the beginning.

if this is the best cbc can come up with, its not good enough. all the complaints are valid, and those who rated this app at anything but frustrating, must be plants paid for by cbc. what a waste of my time, and tax payers funds. William.

It was good for 2 days. Now it won't open. Keeps crashing. Ads are a bit too long but I'm happy as long as it works and right now it's not. I'll write a new review if it ever starts working again

Canadians pay over 1 billion to prop up the cbc every year, and you still have the audacity to play ads. As others have said ad system is horrible. If you want to jump to where you left off, 2 minutes of ads. If you need to jump ahead another minute, yup you guessed it 2 more minutes of ads.

Lots of potential but buggy. Messes up on video stream position where you need to reset position and watch more ads than you should.

Content is decent but the ads are ridiculous. They show up - loudly - at random times during the stream, and there are way too many. I'm out.

I want to love this app. but its just so frustrating . Half the time it won't let me see the end of a show... and what is with running the same 3 promos over and over again. Please fix this.

The shows lag all the time and make it very unbearable to watch a show!! They are pixely and the words are behind the show. The commercials are very loud to listen too. The worse part is it is the only place to watch some of the canadian shows that I want to.

Finally! this app supports casting to Chromecast. Now I can watch CBC on my TV without draining my phone battery. Great job CBC. This makes all the difference for easily getting Canadian content without paying for cable.

Great app, too many adverts. Why do they include 4 minutes of ads for other cbc shows in a 20 minute episode? That's not even making revenue, it's just destroying the experience for no reason.

The ads disrupt the experience. You can't go to different parts without seeing them. Needs fine tuning or paid version.

Streaming works well with Chromecast, but is broken on Android TV. Ads don't play on Android TV and when they do it resets the stream, restarting the show. Frustrating

Worked great for a few weeks but now it crashes on all our devices as soon we open it. Can't use it at all anymore :(

Chromecast now supported and works great. We can finally watch CBC on the TV again without needing to connect a laptop via HDMI. Not all shows show up when to browse but search works if you know what you're looking for. (And yes, every episode of Kids in the Hall is there.)

This app crashes multiple times every time I try to navigate to get to the episode I want to watch. The repetitious ads are also extremely annoying - forcing me to watch the same ad four times in a row is not going to make me inclined to watch the show you're trying to promote.

Terrible. Plays commercials whenever it feels like- sometimes 2 min apart. Super frustrating when your half way through and it kicks you back to the start of the show- then starts a new set of commercials! Get new commercials CBC it's bad enough it plays them at odd intervals but its the same 3 commercials over and over.

The app is rough. Commercials come abruptly and there is plenty of black space

Google cast works great but app stops show to interject commercials far too frequently

I cannot find how to cast from my Galaxy Samsung to Sony TV.

Very low def play and buffering on my reg home wifi. Sad because other TV apps work great so this one needs work.

It works most of the time. But lots of commercials that don't have anything new. Just visit Canada and the cbc. Thanks

Would be nice if you had the TV app for android Tablet and chromecast...

When I cast to chromecast, the ads only have audio, video is missing.

Please release this app for AndroidTV.

It's a really great concept and I would love it if it weren't so glitchy! The app crashes almost constantly, it has trouble once shows load and play, but cuts off after each advertisement and doesn't continue to play. Also, trying to load the next show is really glitchy also and content takes forever to load! Works well when the content is loaded through! Also it's very difficult to rewind or fast forward!

Works great but the ad system is hella glitchy. Random adds during the show, sometime the show goes back to the start after adds. I'm fully supportive of their being adds but if it totally ruins the viewing experience ain't no one going to watch!

garbage. im disgusted that i have to watch 4 ads back to back. i highly suggest u dont download this app because of the ads. you will end up throwing your phone at a wall.

Stable connections. Very rarely the app will stop and only once, yesterday actually, was the returning transmission very unstable. The ads are all the same, I believe there are only 5 or 6.

Way too many adds. At least get rid of the promos. CBC comedy isn't funny and these promos are not helping!

It works well and the shows are enjoying quality. But you will watch 7 sets of 4 ads within a 45 show, and they're the same 4 ads repeated over and over.

My first review for any app, just wanted to give feedback. Happy that you have Chromecast support its the only reason I use the app. Ads are a bit crazy though. I understand you need ads, but I'm watching dragons den and see the same ads sometimes back to back in the same ad slot! And if not that, it repeats the next few minutes when the next ad block starts. Also, volume on ads is much louder than the program, please don't do this. Last thing, say I finished watching episode 12 of dragons den. When I pull the app up again to watch the next episode, I have to search to go back to dragons den and search for the episode I want to watch next. If I click on the "window" of what I just finished watching, it starts the last episode I watched from the beginning! Very frustrating experience. I appreciate the free app and shows but can't continue to use it unless the ads get better implemented. I'm a little spoiled by CTV app which has commercials on your computer but when using Chromecast is ad free.

Ive been waiting five minutes for the first three seconds of an advertisement to play. It plays 1 second then wait wait .... I cannot watch a 15 second commercial prior to a show that will take a mathemagicall eon to load. I have awesome internet so this is just not acceptable. Boo app

I have a question. I recently purchased a Nvidia Shield TV and it has Chromecast but for some reason, your app's Chromecast button disappears. Can you tell me why? Thank you.
