Carrier® Côr™ Thermostat for Android
Crashes a lot and sometimes just doesn't respond. Bare bones features too. Expected more from carrier
If you're stuck as a DIY you're stuck there is no technical support over the phone you will have to get tech to come out so I would not recommend their products to any one they are not supporting the carrier products as other companies support theirs products. THERMOSTAT IS GOING BACK TO STORE.
Landscape view only, not close to honeywell android app
Forced to turn to landscape mode. Some buttons take 5 or 6 touches to work.
Considering the amount of data this app should have available to it, it gives very little access to that data. For instance, my old thermostat could give me a report of how many hours the system had been on in a given day, the previous week, the previous month, or the year. This should have all of that data, but there's no way for me to get it. This makes it impossible to gauge how efficient the system is being at any given point in time. They could do better.
Web site for thermostat control is pretty good, but app is lacking. Interface mirrors thermostat, but should have some app-oriented functionality, like using the Android "back" button, instead of finding the right on-screen button. And having portrait mode. And like not logging me put of the app about once each day for no reason. Ugh.
The app certainly looks like it would do what I want it to do. Unfortunately, I own an LG-Enlighten I haven't found an app yet that works correctly with this phone. The Cor Thermostat app only give me the ability to see what the thermostat is set on. It does not give me the ability to change anything... sigh... I will never own another LG product.
Just installed this app and it does a great job of providing the same information and control as the thermostat itself. Yes, its only presented in landscape mode on your phone but that seems to be a small nit. It does not allow you to look at the reports which are available on the web app either but again, seems like a small nit. What it does well is allow you to monitor and control your HVAC remotely.
Update: now the forced landscape screen orientation seems minor compared to things just not working. Changing temperature takes many tries for it to stick once, maybe. Changing "hold until" time never works. It may make the change but the mobile app UI never updates to reflect it. It needs to be confirmed though the Web UI. Please fix this. Forced landscape, seriously? Very basic features compared to Sensi thermostat app. Hope they fix this because the thermostat itself is great.
besides the landscape debacle, key features are missing. it also won't allow saving multiple schedules. and today, it won't let me log in. lastly, no forgot password option.
Small differences from thermostat, shows "cooling" when it's "dehumidifying", doesn't show anything initially until you go into the app then back out, can't adjust all settings, like dehumidify degrees, but overall nice to be able to check your system. Don't like the forced landscape.
This app does everything one needs it to do. Can adjust temperature and humidity. You can change your presets. You can create or change profiles. You can do everything you need to from this app for keeping your house at the correct temperature and humidity. It works anywhere and it always works. I think it's perfect. Others complaining about no energy report obviously haven't been on the website that gives you every single detail about how long your system's been on and in which modes etc. Great app!
Like most complaints, it needs to autorotate the screen, keep you logged in and be able to use the back button on the phone to exit the app. I assume Carrier didn't write the app and doesn't read these posts or they would have fixed it. Not hard to fix. Big corporation can't be that cheap. They're just lazy. Good app otherwise.
If I go into the guided schedule on the application and set up different temperature for different times of the day at different times. It just copies the temperature and will not let me do that.
First day the blue cooling indicator quit. After 2 weeks I can't log in.
Needs more options though. Landscape and portrait mode would be nice.... Not just one mode.
Fake app
Love it, works just like my thermostat !!!!
Looks just like the thermostat, which is OK I guess. Forced into landscape mode, which I dislike. It's a bit slow and non intuitive. There is no way to interact with this or the Cor via an API, at least not one publicly available. Running Marshmallow, every time I reboot I have to re-enter my email and password, major PITA!!!
Forced landscape, seriously? Very basic features compared to Sensi thermostat app. Hope they fix this because the thermostat itself is great.
Works pretty well, would give 5 stars if not for a forced landscape mode and inability to exit app in a normal way. I would also like to see more of the functions from the carrier portal on this app.
App functions as described on a galaxy s4 active. They could have a little more detail on the status display, which only tells you if your system is heating or cooling. Those of us with hybrid systems can't tell what is running remotely on the display of the stat and the app. Also, how about a share button for social networking?
App works well, and mimics the actual thermostat. You are forced to use landscape mode, which is not a big deal, but would be nice if it worked both ways. Also, you do not have access to reporting through the app, you must use the web interface. Would be nice to access in app.
This app works just like the thermostat. I'm a service tech who works for a heating and air conditioning company. I can do everything on my phone that I can do on the stat it self. And the response time between my phone and stat are to close to even count. 5 star's. Galaxy S5 Active
Like most other apps, you hit the "back" button to exit the app. Not happening here. Galaxy S6.
This app needs to be able to be in both portrait and landscape. The app is dated. I previously had a nest wish this was more friendly like the nest
Do NOT like being forced into landscape mode. Also, would be nice to be able to control temperature swing.
This app has an interface identical to the Cör thermostat and it's much better than the other carrier Wi-Fi app. Some of the features could use some work but a decent design overall.
So far I love it. My only complaint is that there are no widgets. Please add widgets!
Since I cannot get any email response from carrier, I am forced to report a bug here. If system is set to off, and the fan is switched from auto to on or from on to auto, the app hangs with the spiral wait cursor. Nexus 7 2013 version. Other than that, things work pretty well. Screen orientation is fixed in landscape.
Does the job
I love it but it would be great if you update the GUI to allow portrait use and add a Wear app for watches
I need the apps URL
Hate the fact that I am forced into landscape mode only. Lazy programing!
Super
The developer needs to learn how to use android layouts and map to buttons better. Looks like something a bad Jr engineer would build. I expect(ed) better from Carrier.
I love that not only does it work well and gives the same feeling as the hone thermostat, this app gives me the forecast. How fantastic!
After setting up my new thermostat, getting it registered, anticipating using the app on my Samsung S5 - F A I L - tried downloading for hour; nothing. Shutdown, tried again - nothing - What's going on? What's the use in having COR without the app to run it ?
DOESN'T WORK Downloaded App Click on App -- Blank screen. Supposed to work on Android 2.2.3 and up

The inside temperature, outside temperature and humidity differ between the app and the physical thermostat on the wall. This difference can be 9°. That's a huge difference.
