Alberta Emergency Alert

The settings don't work. There's no doubt the app is important and the warnings essential, but once you specify an area to recieve alert you can't remove it. Changing the alert sound has no effect. The sound stresses me out, I can't remove areas I've accidentally 'subscribed' to, and I'm contemplating uninstalling even though I really REALLY want this app. I don't listen to TV or radio and this is the best way to recieve an alert.

I think this is a great service. To all those complaining they aren't getting alerts for windy thunderstorms, there is a setting for "critical alerts only". You probably have that checked. Or maybe you think this is a weather app instead of EMERGENCIES like tornadoes, dumbass.

Doesn't work!!! Had multiple severe thunder storms with hail knocking complete trees over! No alert at all! We had alerts from the news and environment Canada's website though. I made sure all alerts and areas were set properly. I guess nobody is manning this ap!

A safety essential for receiving government issued safety bulliten, alerts and tornado warnings don't be without this app in alberta Some people seem to think it's a weather app it's not. It all so displays alerts about riots, fires, chemical spills and situations of danger to life or limb of various severity6

Absolutely not worth the effort to download it. It is not being used by any agency that I know of. We have had several severe storms go through Central Alberta, with no alerts posted. Find a different app if you want up to date warnings.

When i first installed a year ago it had an alert sound I loved. Now it only let's me use my Samsung sounds (boring). Maybe Samsung's fault? Can I get the default alert sound back?

The one time there is a tornado alert in my immediate vicinity and it doesn't go off. Embarrassing.

Area near me has a tornado touch down as I am almost right under it. Did our "Emergency Alert" even go off? Short answer, NO. And No it was not a late alert. I looked almost an hour later and my phone just said "No current alerts" for present or past. Why again is this app around?

Version 2.0.3 is back to not allowing you to choose multiple areas to get alerts from. You'll be able to pick one or maybe two regions, but after that, every attempt to add more regions does nothing - no error message, no explanation why the selected region doesn't get added. This needs to get fixed. UPDATE: 2.0.4 is working properly! Thanks very much for this fix.

It doesn't alert you to any emergencies. Useless

Had to uninstall the app tonight, I have the notifications set to silent and to my area only yet the app keeps going off for an area located over 5 hours away from me.

It's a good app with timely alerts for tornados, gas leaks, abductions, fires, etc. I consider it essential for residents and visitors. But it shouldn't be draining my battery -there's a bug that needs fixing.

Despite all the alerts issued by radio. I haven't gotten a single alert on the mobile app. And yes I have wifi on.

Today there were no warnings and there were three cells in my area. A different app had a tornado warning that kept going off, checked this app and nothing. The other app said to get into basement where I live. This app isnt working, worked when I fist downloaded it.

WHY is the default sound set as Silent??? I can only select from my phone's list of sounds vs the AEA-specific one), which basically means next time I could ignore an alert, thinking it'd be an email or something non-urgent..

So fkin loud. I uninstalled because I couldn't find a separate volume control. I'll risk a unlikely tornado over the guaranteed heart attack this was going to cause. Jesus.

Horrible app. Southern alberta is under a huge evac due to fires and it doesn't even show a fire at All!!!

This used to be a useful app but lately it doesn't go off. The default sound is silent! Really? How helpful is that?? In June I was driving into the path of a TORNADO and there was no alert!!

It keeps giving me alerts for places far away. Glichen is not that close to Calgary.

Nice to have in emergencies, but a fire 4 hours away from me does not warrant 6 extremely loud notifications an hour and there is no way that I can find to turn it off. My settings are set to silent. Ready to uninstall.

Doesn't work. All I get is a blank screen.

This is great to have especially with the fires being so close to use right now.

Would be better if the app could be moved to an sd card. Gives warnings for events far from where I am.

I want to be able to change the alert sound for 'critical' alerts. Literally every other app lets me change all their notification behavior and I found out at 2:30am that I'm stuck with "horrifying klaxon" for yours. One can tell you don't need to profit from this app, because there's zero user friendliness built in.

I have friends and family all over the province. I hate how it only shows alerts in my local area now by default instead of the whole province, I hate that there is no option to select all alerts for the whole province, and I hate how when I go into the settings to try and add the places important to me individually, none of the changes stay. It still only lists my local area. Used to be great but now this app is worthless. I use the latest generation Moto X Play so an old phone or OS isn't the issue.

Out of several critical alerts in the past couple months, have received exactly one notification from this app, and ten minutes after the hour long alert was ended. Google alerts on the same device are far more reliable, and the data available to the app is reliable; just leaves the app itself being unreliable. Expect more from something this important.

In this day and age the app should be able to know where you are and alert you to things relevant to where you are. I deleted the app this morning after I got alarms all last night for an emergency 6+ hours away

Latest 'minor bug fixes' require added file access permission. Uninstalling app.

When there servier hail storm like that one happened calgary it was a funnel happening last one damage all houses and cars you should go.off too I saw funnel behind my house didn't go off the hail was so bad. Size of a golf ball but other wise really good app . ? I like it it does alert u all times

This app kept me up to date on the Alberta wild fires, I was actually one of the first to let my friends know they had to get out, even though I was in southern Alberta, all because of this app. GREAT JOB! And the Amber Alert is great.

Why does site say no advisory at this time when we are clearly in a tornado watch around Calgary (as per the weather network) actually this happened several times with nothing. Not even a response to this post... Time to delete and up date my rating.

It does what it's supposed to. There is so much more potential for it, though.
