About Brookfield Soundscape
Brookfield Soundscape was created by Year 9 music students, working with composer-in-residence Benjamin Mawson (http://benjaminmawson.com/). It’s a huge geo-located, interactive musical experience, accessing invisible sound via satellite, that celebrates creative writing and performance poetry.
The Soundscape Project is inspired by Turner Sims Concert Hall’s 40th anniversary and based around a series of events exploring sound in wider contexts: acoustic and virtual instruments, musical forms and the science of how sound works. It comprises nearly 90 audio tracks and allows visitors to walk through the school’s landscape encountering breath-taking imaginary sound worlds.
