Barretos, em 1986, ganhou um veiculo de comunicação que em pouco tempo iria se transformar na principal rádio no segmento FM da cidade.

Em 7 de junho de 1986, o Grupo Jornal de Barretos Comunicações coloca no ar em caráter definitivo a JORNAL FM, com um jeito de fazer FM que até então Barretos não tinha, com uma super equipe, plástica diferenciada das outras, muita criatividade com vários programas e locutores que em pouco tempo caíram no gosto dos ouvintes, fazendo a rádio virar líder de audiência e uma grande febre na cidade.

O forte da rádio no início também foi a parte musical, que através de uma parceria, tudo que saia de novo em São Paulo, em uma semana já estava tocando na JORNAL FM, e só depois, muito depois, as rádios concorrentes começavam a tocar. Vale lembrar que na época não existia a facilidade que hoje temos em baixar uma música pela Internet, tinha que buscar mesmo ou esperar os divulgadores que passavam a cada três meses.

O slogan da rádio era “Jornal FM, a sua rádio” e durante anos a grande atração era o TOK BIZ, com participação ao vivo dos ouvintes. Mas como tudo tem que mudar e avançar, o Grupo, almejando novos rumos, acertou a parceria com a Rede Transamérica de Rádios.

Em 11 de agosto de 2000, às 12 horas, a Jornal FM passava a ser Transamérica, se juntando com muito orgulho a essa rede de comunicação. E daí para frente começou a se escrever uma nova história. A Transamérica já era uma rádio de grande renome, e coube ao Grupo Jornal de Barretos Comunicações empreender esse projeto para a cidade e região de Barretos.

Hoje a rádio mantém a liderança na cidade, com uma programação diferenciada e sempre cheia de novidades. Os grandes hits do momento aparecem com frequência por aqui. O ouvinte sempre tem prioridade. Pediu, tocou!
