Droidin v. 4+ is the next generation of the first ever LinkedIn Android application. Droidin is fast, native Android client (not a web app) driven by the LinkedIn Open API.
SECURITY PERMISSIONS:
Droidin does not and will never collect any personal information. All the settings that you accept are required by OS to integrate with LinkedIn servers and Phonebook. The messaging is fully controlled by the user, the application has no means of sending anything without user interaction and awareness.
FINE LOCATION setting: This is used in Job Search section to (optionally, triggered by user) obtain current location. This information is fed into query and is not saved or used for any other purpose
Moving to SD:
If you can't find a widget you probably have the app moved to SD. Unfortunately Android OS currently does not support widget for apps installed to SD, so if you want widget and notifications - move the app back to phone
LOGIN ERRORS:
* If you can't login due to the timestamp error please check your phone's time settings. Phone->Settings->Date & time. Uncheck "Automatic" option and verify that your time and timezone are correct
* If you get 403 error during login try to switch to wifi. Or if you on wifi switch to the regular network and try again.
IMPORTANT: Application is in very active development (BETA). Updates are frequent and you may want to reinstall after major new functionality is added to avoid possible compatibility problems between the updates. Problems? Scroll down for help and tips

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ:
As stated in the description Droidin is powered by LinkedIn Open API (http://goo.gl/diqN). This means that some important and highly desired features may not be available due to LinkedIn API current lack of support. Droidin is not affiliated with LinkedIn which solemnly decides what part of LinkedIn functionality can be exposed to 3rd party developers. Here is an incomplete list of features that are not (yet) available from LinkedIn:
1. Profile editing - not supported by API
2. No personal email syncing since LinkedIn does not provide it
We understand that the lack of functionality is crippling. Fortunately, LinkedIn API is in active development and if and when the missing features will become available we will be adding these to Droidin
TIPS:
* The app is in active development and it is heavily cached. If after update things stop working please try first to clear cache from Droidin->Settings->Clear cache.
If that does not help please logout then go to Phone->Settings->Applications->Manage applications. Locate Droidin. Clear cache, clear data and uninstall. Then install anew from the market
* If the app stops working and you get 404 error please check if LinkedIn site is up, Droidin is ultimately driven by their servers
* If app is seemingly stuck on your profile verify that you are using latest version (after 2.5.8). Clear profiles from the Settings if that doesn't help - reinstall
* Please do access menus, especially "Tips" to learn about app's capabilities

Every time I click for a job description, 2 ads appear on bottom constantly updated every 10 seconds while the info I request is in constant buffering/loading. Time is important and waiting for more info on a job using this app is very frustrating.

Even in beta, this app kicks the crap out of the official one, and without the continual privacy protection fails. For those complaining that the app is buggy, READ THE DEV'S DESCRIPTION - this is a beta version (early release). And for those who say the official version is better, don't make me laugh. It seems to have been created by an 8-year old.

One star just to able to put my following comment: How can i give my review if the app always reject me to login? "LinkedIn servers rejected your initial login due to invalid time on your device.. blah.. blah.. blah..." I did whatever it takes and follow the instruction and STILL.. LOGIN ERROR. Waiting fast feedback before I uninstall this app.

Where the official linked in app is slow and laggy - this really delivers. Nice and swift, great. However, views are simple and lack some basic functionality, like updates, where links are not possible to click, etc. I would love it if the links in linkedin invites would take me to the app, in my phone. I think doodle works like that. But maybe that requires a change in the mails that are sent...

I Installed Droidin for my Linked in account, however it worked for few days & the Sync isn't happening, while I try to add Droidin onto my accounts under contact accounts, it goes to the webpage & don't show up under my contacts. Is there a fix for it, Thought of 5 stars initially , will review once bug is fixed

Suggestion - when viewing discussions in a group, arrange the comments from most recent to the oldest. Whenever a discussion has over 100 posts, they don't all show, even when you click the refresh icon multiple times. I just click refresh a bunch of time in a thread with 300 posts and never could get the most recent ones to show.

Always had it as a widget on my desktop to stay informed. However I just noticed that it has stopped getting updates from the main user feed page. A message says "no updates returned"......can the developer have a look and fix it please. Would revise my ratings for it. Have tried it with same behavior on two different mobiles having android version 4.2 and 4.4.2, with same results. The main LinkedIn app is working fine.

This app is so much better than the official app it's untrue. It doesn't try to do everything but what it does it does so much better than LinkedIn's own attempt and is just fine for a mobile version of the website.

It loads VERY very slow on my phone, does not cache and since I'm on Linkedin ALL the time with 10,000 directs and am having more concerns with battery issues, this app is not going to be my daily LI tool - it does make it very easy to enter email or enter a contacts email to send invites which is cool, because the other day I needed just that with the engineer walking out the door.

... Hammers your notifications full of irrelevant nonsense, hourly ... For an actual professional, this is worse than useless. Uninstall. Anyway, there's always the official Linkedin App which is miles better and which I frequently use.
