특산물로는 운문댐의 맑은물과 푸른산에서 솟아나는 맑은 공기를 머금고 생산되는감, 대추, 복숭아, 배, 딸기 등이 있으며 전국 각지에 공급되는 최고급 육질의 쇠고기를 생산하는 한우고급육 생산단지가 있으며 감물체험학습 등 다양한 체험학습을 할수 있는 테마가 있는 고장이기도 합니다.

최근 저희 면은 산동3개면의 최고 중심지 역할로 건강증진센터운영, 금천어린이집, 동곡우회도로 및 새마을공원 조성 등과 동곡재래시장의 활성화로 인근 대도시 지역의 농촌형 도시로서의 면모를 갖춰 살고싶은, 살맛나는 고장으로 거듭나고 있습니다.
