like the side panel design, but plz make the 3dot indicators an option. 1) open file dialog allows to open files from external SD-card, but only when path is set to it. file browser does not see external SD-cards, thus browsing to it is not possible. 2) saving to external SD-card fails. 3) app stopps when going directory-up while in internal SD-card top directory. fortunately current document is not lost in that case. 4) set document path in settings needs a 'select directory'-dialog.

Very useful, basic word pad like desktop. Only since I've updated my phone to android 8, I can't figure out how to get wordpad to open files from my SDCARD? I have dozens saved on the sdcard but it keeps asking for the PATH and nothing I try works. It only reads from local storage which does me no good.

I think it is a good program but text and background color selections should be from a pickup table. The colors I need are not there. Also the options buttons are annoying to see always.

App Crashes I love the app, however whenever I edit a document and try to save what I've added the app crashes. I use this to jot down ideas for books and I lose what I write when I try save what is it I just wrote. The app would be perfect if you could fix this problem.

Yes, yes, yes!!! At last an app for editing simple scripts! A) It opens files with various scripting extensions, eg xspf, not just txt files. That means you can edit scripts directly, without temporarily giving them a txt file extension. B) It has proper Open and Save As features, so you can navigate to open an existing file and can save multiple versions edited from an existing file.

Despite the name, this is NOT a Wordpad RTF editor! It fails to open wordpad's *.RTF files properly for editing, all the RTF formatting gets garbled instead of being displayed properly. Also, it quietly truncates large files to only the first 64KB and everything after that is lost!

Very smooth and all, but i just request one thing, I request one little tweak... Can we set the text blinker to custom colors? I cant stand black backgrounds, so i changed it to white, and now I can't see the blinker and it gets irritating. Plus, can you give options for setting custom colors (or even images) for backgrounds? And those tabs on the left/right sides get in the way a bit, getting rid of those would be nice too. Thanks. Otherwise this app deserves 5 stars.

Open app. Tap right menu ... tap open ... tap parent folder icon ... crash ... tried several times, so cannot open internal storage. Uninstalled. Droid 7.0

I am a writer, so this app is perfect for me! Works amazing- slow someties, but rarely.

Can save Not a great app. It can save to the SD card if you type in the entire path. When saved and exported to a PC there are no line returns in the PC document, just one string of characters. Not useful.

It's all right. I prefer light background with dark text, and I haven't figured out a way to change the menu button colour. If you set the background to grey, they become invisible and I have to memorise their position or randomly stab my finger at the screen. It would be nice if the text colour change also changed the menu button outline. It's still my preferred text editor because there's no ads and no invasive permissions :)

The app is noted to be in beta but is very functional. Support for markdown would be nice to have some control over display but still effectively remain plain text. External XD card support would be a nice feature add. The "pointless" tab on the left as another reviewer noted is actually the "most recent" list, a nice feature to have this early. I did a force stop and the app still re-opened where I left it, double thumbs up there!

After the latest phone update for my galaxy s5 I can't see the cursor anymore, which makes this pretty hard to use. I like the setup of the app, but this problem makes it hard to continue using it for the time being.

This app is in desperate need of a menubar. Theres some little button hanging on the left side but clicking it slides out an empty drawer. Completely unusable for anything.

One of few plain text editors that are available in the share list when you want to copy a lot of text from the clipboard to an editor. The app is old and by the looks of it we wouldn't see any updates coming up, so what it is is what it is. It is good.

auch auf eine Bandbreite an Bearbeitungsmöglichkeiten darf man sich nicht freuen. Beim Bearbeiten von manchen Dateien helfen einem die vorinstallierten Anwendungen aber nicht weiter. Ich würde mich auf jeden Fall über eine Optimierung des Designs freuen. Ein Seiten Menü sieht zum Beispiel sehr modern aus wenn man es richtig verbaut.

This is Notepad, showing all the formating when opening a .doc file. Awkward to use of find the tools.

I am typing and suddenly keyboard disappears and a folders list fills the screen...every time...please, ain't got the time...crapolla!!!!

I love the app but when I went to go share the story im working on today it didn't give me the option to send to email instead it brought just messenger up. How can this be fixed?

Waste of time. ..write a letter and try to print it. ..the app tells you that the file is invalid !!

Whenever I try to save a document as save as, it always freezes and then takes me bsck to the home screen. It is very frustrating and I really need to use that function. How do I fix it?????
