Old books but other than that it's perfect..!! May be just add rewind and forward options...! Update : Thanks for your response. My apologies but I was referring to the interface on Android Auto as I listen to books while driving. There I couldn't find a way to rewind or forward. Please add that functionality or if I missed it please do let me know how can I do this. Thanks again

This app is relatively simple to use. Bookmarking is delightfully easy. The user interface isn't bogged down with unnecessary options. Additionally the ads do not get in the way or distract, which is a nice change from some other apps. I do have difficulty downloading multiple books without a cue. If there were some way to chose multiple books for download, this would be a 5 star app. There are great readers to enjoy here, and some books have more than one reading, which I consider simply brilliant

Love the app! The only issue I have is that occasionally while listening and I get a notification/alert/anything the audio will start skipping, sometimes it will go away after a few minutes but usually requires you to move your current listening spot to reset it... weird.

I love to read, but I'm just too busy to ever be able to sit down with a good book. This app allows me to go about my day while still enjoying the classic books I love. The only problem I have is that every time I look at the story reviews, the app has to restart for some reason.

Love almost everything I've listened to. Been a Sciences Fiction fan for about 40 years and there is so much quality books I never would have found without it. The other great thing is most of the readers do an amazing job. I just want to give thanks to the readers and the time they put into it. Thank you.

I really loved this app until lately it will not let me download any books. It tells me that it can't connect to the library and stops the download. It's useless. Yes I have restarted my device, and my internet connection is the same. It keeps telling me that it can't connect to the server. Yea I have tried different networks and also with my 4g. It does the same thing. I have reinstalled it 4 times, and yes its a new tablet, but all my other apps work just fine.

A good and pretty app with one flaw which makes me turn my back to it: no accelerated playback speed control... I can hardly believe it so much that I still think I must have missed something... In follow up to your response, I understand that high speed playback has some technical challenges however not something all other players have not solved. Smart Audiobook Player is a small player built by one person and which has great variable speed control. My point is, you may avoid having to reinvent the wheel.

Stops every 30 min. or so and skips to the next chapter. Real pain to listen to a book. No battery or data save is turned on. Seems to do it instead of running an ad or after an ad runs. Also the app starts up on its own after I have closed it and force closed it

Best! Just needs a better interface to move around easily. Edit: current layout is crowded, and navigation is cumbersome. If there were a side panel like what we see in some android apps, for accessing past search or favourite books, it will be perfect.

Just getting started with it, but I would give the content 5 stars at this point. I initially had some clunky issues with the app for some reason, but they were gone after restarting my phone.

Librivox is amazing, I truly do love them. However, this is the most unstable app I have ever used. It crashes, skips chapters, starts chapters over randomly. The service and volunteers are great and their efforts deserve better than what Librivox ha given them.

There are a few kinks now and again. I prefer the old radio broadcasts like X Minus Zero, Escape, Gunsmoke, and Dragnet. My main complaint is I can't figure out how to download single episodes. There are far too many episodes of Gunsmoke, Dragnet, etc. for me to download them all.

I absolutely loved this app. Use daily. And now for some reason it's decided it will no longer load books!! I have tried using wi-fi, then mobile data. I have shut the app down and restarted. I have deleted the stupid app and reinstalled and still nothing. Very very annoyed!!!

Eh. Only the classic books are free. I'm looking for decent books from the past decade, two at most. I don't mind paying for them, but literally every single paid audibook listed in this app is available through Audible but without the option to buy it with a free monthly credit (like Audible does). Why pay $25 for one good book when I can pay $17 a month and get any book I want? As for freebies, there's Nook and Kindle, plus most of the freebies can even be found at local libraries - and my local library even has online audibooks. So... Yeah, this app isn't really all that useful to me. Plus, the constant ads... Please.

I loved this app until I started driving a Chevrolet that has android auto. Now I can't use this app any more. It crashes my android auto. Reply to question: I recently instated this on a new phone. I went from a Samsung galaxy s7 to an s8. I am still having the same problem. I also tried un-installing and installing the paid version, but that did the same thing.

Free books? Yes, free books with terrible adverts. Who told those women they could sing? I will not be buying their album, and I will be deleting Librivox. These books are free. The narrators give their time for free, so why do I keep hearing terrible women voices singing awful songs? Reply from Librivox told me to buy the ad free version. As I said, the books are free, the narrators gave their time at no cost, and yet the creators at Librivox are trying to profit from us. They have paid nothing out, yet, they want our money. I will definitely not be paying to hear your substandard readings of free books. If you want to make money, please pay your narrators. You are trying to make profit from people who gave their time to educate and entertain for no gain.

Content is good. App itself is a little buggy. EDIT: For instance, it doesn't terminate properly. If it is removed from the recent apps and isn't in the notification tray, it will re-insert into the notification tray on Bluetooth events. Also, a couple times it seemed to stop playback in between tracks while running in the background, but it could have just been a large delay, as I have also seen.

K70%
by K####:

it used to be good. now it crashes all the time and cuts off during playback. I'm stuck in the middle of a book that it won't let me finish listening. reinstalling didn't fix anything

Good app. Use friendly and always nice to have a free selection to listen to. A few issues with the app losing my place, and missing some titles I would have expected exist but I can't blame them for that last bit.

K70%

This is one of my favorites! I love listening to my favorite authors (Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott, Lucy Maude Montgomery). It's my go-to to help me get through housecleaning and other slightly tedious tasks.

Great app for freebaudio books. I paid a small amount to get rid of the ads, which think eas worth the price. App works great, and there are now a lot of good readers, all volunteers. A few not quite so good, and thus not quite a 5 star rating. But all in all, a great app.

F70%

Probably the best free audio book app out there but far from perfect. Just the changing of readers throughout some of the books can throw things off but other then that I mean your looking a gift horse in the mouth

I used to love this app but now it doesn't work. I have it on two different phones and on one phone constantly pauses at random intervals and on the other phone the app always closes randomly while im listening and when I reopen it doesn't save my place. So frustrating. Please fix these issues!

I'm so grateful I can listen to all these classics. The only problem I run into is that it shorts out if the Wi-Fi connection isn't strong.

In the world were creativeness is dull and leadership is parroting. Access to great minds is made possible. This is the dawn of new era. Generation riding on the wave of this awesome technology will hold the powerful-master- key to elevate and free their peers burdens. Dont hold on to such info it is not a secret, let everyone know. Help is good investment.

I have listened to several books on this device, but frequently I have issues with the app crashing when trying to find new books. It's a great app when it works and I have even paid to remove ads. Now I'm thinking I might try a different app and drop this one, if I keep having issues.

K70%
by K####:

Good app. Some readers just aren't good, nor do they speak very well into the mic... But for free listening can't complain too much. The app doesn't really "close" without restarting my phone though. I can close it, force stop, all of that and it will still pop up where I left off on a book. An annoyance.

K70%
by K####:

I like it but I would love to have the function of speeding up as it is on iPhone. I just changed to Android and I miss that part of the app since some of the readers are a bit slow for me. Hope it can be added. Other than this it is great

K70%
by K####:

Good good app, but make sure you check more than one reading of a book, because you might like another Reader's version better. I prefer to have books written by Men read by men, and books written by women read by women. There are some very good versions of stories in here, but they're also some mediocre readings that would just annoy you.

Thank you for decreasing the amount of audio ads, but now it tends to open itself randomly when I'm using my phone. It opens in the background and on my Taskbar. Yes. I have rebooted device. My next step I think will be to delete all data for the app and start from fresh.

Love this app! Books and lots of classic Old Time Radio (OTR). But... deducted one star for the limited ability to download. Seems it only permits a few. I travel a lot and this is a real limitation.

K70%

Some of the readers are rather bad, but they are all volunteers and the app and most of the content are free. A good way to pass the time until your next audible credit becomes available. Go catch up on some classics!

Didn't want to waste data hearing ads so I paid for the ad free version and the app stopped working. It's now useless. And yes, I tried restarting my device.

Great app, thanks! Unfortunately the contols keep popping up in my notification area even after I have closed the app. I end up having to close the app several times each day. (This is on a Samsung Galaxy S7)

I love listening classic books and they have some great recordings + chapters are downloadable but I find that quite often the app has problems opening the book and resuming the chapters from where I paused. It attempts to load the book and then says could not load the book. How to fix this?

F70%
by F####:

The app is ok. However it does not allow me to listen till the very end of books. Just shows an error message "cannot load book. " That's the disappointing part. Otherwise it's a good app

K70%
by K####:

I loved this app so I'm going to rate it 5 stars for my experience with my last phone. My current experience although is difficult. When I tried opening a book the whole app would freeze and then crash. If a friend with an older phone I would recommend it though. Sucks I have to say Goodbye to this app.

This is a very useful and user friendly app. Many great books to hear and in many languages. Although reader quality is hit and miss, the good outweigh the less good. Ive been a fan since librovox started many years ago. They take their work seriously.

Ads are quite intrusive at times.Confusing interface. What a pity. Don't know if It is streaming or downoaded or where it is downloaded to.Volunteers are of course marvellous.

I like the application. I gave it a 2 only because I had to disinstall it. I don't have room in my internal memory and this program like a lot of others, for some reason, will not allow us to move it to the SD card! why would programmers do that???? beats me
