About [ROOT] X Privacy Installer

This application will help you to install XPrivacy, the ultimate, yet easy to use, privacy manager.

✦ ✦ ✦ Root required ✦ ✦ ✦

If you don't have the Xposed framework installed already, the installer will help you to install this framework, since it is required to run XPrivacy.

Android 5.x Lollipop devices: you will need to install Xposed for Lollipop manually
See here for installation instructions: https://github.com/M66B/XPrivacy#installation

XPrivacy can prevent applications from leaking privacy sensitive data by restricting the categories of data an application can access. XPrivacy feeds applications fake data or no data at all. It can restrict several data categories, such as contacts or location. For example, if you restrict an application's access to contacts, that application will receive an empty contacts list. Similarly, restricting an application's access to your location will send a fake location to that application.

XPrivacy doesn't revoke or block permissions from an application, so most applications will continue to work as before and won't force close (crash).

Have spent hours reading researching but not 99% sure if i can install xposed successfully.

This app is one of the only reasons I root my phone(s) other than CrapWare. Lets YOU control permissions. Steve Job's Antichrist! S4 KK444 Rooted AT&T ROM

When relase update work in v10.all about framework not installed. Why i can’t download it through google play store, so many tHread and van make a easy way like before 4.0

Y70%
by Y####:

Sure it can be dangerous. It can soft brick your device. But you can't hobble the app because it's needs experience. Also needs all permissions block able/spoofable to be truly effective

Had to really jump around to get it and Xposed properly installed with ARHD's Lollipop, but once done, everything was a breeze. Good instructions and help links. Thanks to the Flashify and Installer apps here for their help.

Xposed installer not available for this version of Android. Sorry dev. Missed it. Would be nice if google would allow comment without putting stars on. Maybe an NA box. Look forward to this working one day.

The app works hassle free. The thing that really sucks here is the fact there is absence of material design. The privacy setup could be bolded better. If button for checking would have been circular rather than square, it would have added beauty.

Doesn't work for my S7. Unless it is being shot down by the spies who hate the fact that we are free citizens. They are controlling everything and they have to track evrything we do, even if you are a good guy... I like this app and would rate a 5 when it worked on my s4.

The installer for xprivacy. Both this installer and the xprivacy app are extremely difficult to configure and use but very worth it. If you can root your phone, you can do this!

Y70%
by Y####:

Wont install if your phones rooted with one of those rooting apps but your bootloader remains locked so do yourself a favour and use with kitkat on a samsung or a nexus 5 where the company supplies software to make unlocking the bootloader simple or comes already unlocked (samsung galaxy's)... perfect app stop programs talking to eachother behind your back (deny IPC) FOR EXAMPLE. check out the extra tricks it can do in settings too. This app is totally on your side if u want protection. Its nasty to NSA ;)

UPDATE: finally xposed is compatible with oneplus 3! Cannot wait to finally start using this app! Would love to be able to use this but sadly Xposed is incompatible with my phone... (oneplus 3). Might take a few months but once it has become compatible, first thing I will be doing is installing this.

Y70%
by Y####:

I have do complete root but this app requires Xposed to work, and not once does it say that in the description that you need Xposed to use it. The thing is that I can't install Xposed Unclear requirements listed and a waste of my time.

you guys can call me paranoid. iwas going to change my phone from Android to Iphone unwillingly since it has a better security and privacy, but this app made me change my mind and stay with Android. iam not fan of Iphone though. with this piece of art app i can have 100% control over my apps. thank you dev from making our lives easy. By the way i dont get it why some people give 1 star is this how you appreciate someone when your privacy is his major concern and priority this app deserves more than 5 stars

This awesome app is in google make me doubt about "Privacy", tho i download the xprivacy app from xposed installer module directly and is not recognice by goolge market.. Weird.. Rather stay with the xprivacy app from xposed site.

Instead of this useless app I would recommend apk permission remover. Works well and doesn't require to install dodgy and buggy Xposed Framework in order to work. P. S. Sorry to hear that but this what happens. Your app doesnt work on Android 4.0.3 galaxy S2. Consider to spend more hours on it.

Love that it restricts information to apps that have no business gaining access to data and functions such as call logs, location or being able to record audio or video without my knowledge. Thank you for your dedication and vigilance.

Having the ability to decide what I want to share with apps is priceless. Xprivacy should b stock in android. I'd like to thank Marcel for his countless hours of work on this and also for providing great support. I hope to see this continued on android m once xposed is in working order. Thanks again to the dev!!!!

Idiot-proof way to install this excellent module - if only everything was this easy!! Thank you! Due to running LP, had to manually install the Xposed framework via recovery (Pro tip: Stock LP Samsung ROMs + Xposed = bootloops, you need CyanogenMod), but that has nothing to do with this app.

Changed my rating from 1-->4.. Not 5 because it was unavailable at a time I needed it the most..and apology for such a bad review earlier..but I have seen this app doing wonders..and I really needed it that time.. Although now I realize that it takes much of your effort..and it should be appreciated anyhow..so thanks a lot for such an amazing app..! (Y) I loved it.. The best privacy app ever.. !!

The "XPosed" & "XPrivacy" "Installers" apparently have to be installed so this ensemble can work as some sort of stealthy package. However, I found that neither want to "talk" to one another & the culprit being the "framework". Why does this app need another app to work? How can this be deemed "easy"? I'm hoping these two "apps" don't wreck my new phone that I bought yesterday & rooted today! Maybe if you like spending an hour making a complicated situation easy, then you'll love XPosed-XPrivacy.

I'll try installing it again when I have more time. The Google play description says manual lollipop installation information is at **github link** which doesn't have a "lollipop manual installation" text at first glance. There's a very large readme file, a quick search for lollipop and manual doesn't look useful either. Easy documentation is important, hence the 2 stars. Even if the manual installation is difficult that's fine, but it shouldn't be a wild goose chase.

I've been using this for about 48 hours now, it is truly the most useful Xposed module out there. Although I wouldn't recommend using this if you don't know what you're doing, as it is pretty advanced.

simply put .. number 1 privacy app, number 1 app to install on your phone before you start using any other app to have total control of your phone, you will be amazed of what goes on behind your back on your android that this gem of an app reveals and control.

It would be a lie to say this is everything you could ever want from an Android app... its far more than that! Mucho respect, thanks :D

Don't expose, when snoopy eyes want to know everything about you. Just take a step back wards. Don't trust anyone or anything else that wants your own info. I always tried to layer my cellphone with as much of the best of what security had to offer. Now, all apps that want to know. I've closed (if not ) slammed the door shut on snoopy apps, once and for all.

No idea why would you choose to install it separately since you've still got all the risks of modifying rom

Your are the freaking bomb. To deface this instead of blocking is genius, and you are too. A app "jodel" is though able to get my location through - isProviderEnabled. I believe.. is this something new in lollipop+ api? (Ofc I got the licenses when they were in .txt's)

this is by far the best app for privacy on any platform, no other platform has real alternative or equal app for privacy then xprivacy. those who don't understand how to use it, please go to xda forums xprivacy thread to ask questions rather than rating it low for your own lack of knowledge.

Come on I want to gain my privacy back. Actually I want the last version of Android. Your comment is dumb. I'v been waiting for 8 months and your program flat out says you have not programed it to work on my device. So it will stay at a one star.

This app has me wanting to ditch Android 6 (Marshmallow) because I can no longer use it or the Xposed Framework! It sucks because this needs to be included with Google's OS designs. Thanks for all your great work and just the best to you dev!

Currently nothing rivals this security app, but beyond that an ingenious licensing system. I hope other devs will not be lazy and follow Marcels footsteps.
