About Text-Tone Customizer
Set custom sounds (MP3/WAV/OGG/etc) for your contacts' incoming SMS and MMS messages so you know exactly who's texting you before you look at the screen.

Please note: the app ships with a neat selection of sound effects. If you like, you can have the app copy those files to your Ringtones folder so that they can be used.
HOW IT WORKS:
When a text message is received, the app cross-references the senders number to your contacts. If a match is found and an "Individual" Tone is set, then that sound is played.
If no "Individual" Tone is set then the app cross-references the senders number to your contact groups, and plays a sound if assigned.
If no group is assigned a tone, but a "Default" tone is, then the app plays that.
PRIVACY POLICY:
This app does *not* collect information about you or your contacts! This app does not read your messages!
PERMISSIONS:
To be able to function, this app must receive notification of an SMS message and the sender's number (which is cross-referenced with the contacts in your phone).
For advertisements only, this app requests access to the internet.

If you come across a bug, or have a suggestion to improve the app, then please send me an email. If the app crashes then report it so that Google sends me the crash report.

Seems to be a good app in general, however it does not recognize contacts which have no phone number. I am looking for something that will play an alarm to wake me up when I receive a text from specific work email accounts.

Love this app so , but having issues with it , everytime I go to either change or set someone's tone I get a pop up of app not working and it closes . I even uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck same issue. This is the first time ive ever had this problem I've had this app awhile now and on diff devices .

I hadn't attempted use of this app since 2014, so when I was contacted about its bug fix I really didn't remember it. Well yes I can assign any media to all tones.... Sadly though, you cannot modify the audio. Not even a simple cut, so the intro to a long song that is like to use for a text, has the likelihood of making noise for 10 minutes from just one text. However, if you have the already edited sounds, perfect. Baby steps, as long as every step forward is in the right direction, you won't lose!

At first, I would get two tones at the same time even though I had muted the phone's message notifier. Then after rebooting my phone it worked. BUT then it stopped working after two days. I've rebooted, nothing. All the other notifiers work except for the sms. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. Not worth the headache.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3. HELPS WITH: Only playing a tone when a text message arrives. You can block unwanted notifications from all other apps & system notifications in your phone settings, good so far, right. PROBLEM: Eventually turns out I did want notifications from one app... however I can't pick that one individually. Only if I turn on notifications from all apps. SUGGESTED SOLUTION: Make it possible to "whitelist" certain apps, so that they will generate an audible notification when selected or specified. Even when all other notifications are selected off.

Install, select default text, and it tells me there is no sdcard......... I do have a 32bit formatted 64gb sdcard...... but still I doubt that's the issue!

The app worked perfectly for a couple days, but all of a sudden forgets where/what the file was. I re-chose the file and it worked for another few days... but then it does it again and COMPLETELY stops functioning. This is where when you go into (re) choose the file, all it says is "SD Card Not Detected!" ... My SD card works flawlessly and I have the text tone file on each storage bank. Idfk why it does this, but this app does NOT work (at least longer than a week).

1. Assigned sound to incorrect contact. 2. Despite uninstalling & reinstalling the app, could not get the sound to the contact.Therefore all in all a waste of time and money, Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F)
