Bible by Olive Tree

I have been using Bible software for over 20 years. This is the best so far. It is major plus that I can have the software on my android phone and tablet plus my Windows PC. (PC software is free too) The PC version shares a very similar interface. Updates to Android are much more frequent than PC. Lots extra extra books available for purchase. 5 stars for Android. PC Version 4 stars due to no way to adjust the search results font size.

I use Olive Tree and Logos free app. I like the Bible options available but I would also like to see more study freebies. I am more into studies series, especially the Precepts series. Would be a blessing to see 1-3 John and James in the PuP Series here. No reason why an otherwise top notch program can't access those studies!

So many tools to bring the Bible alive and put it into context, all in one place. The two window approach (works fine on my old Samsung phone) means that I can compare the same story in different gospels, and /or see the echoes from Old Testament fulfilled in the New, and even bring up the same passage in Greek or Hebrew. Keyword allows me to bookmark and find a theme later. How they fit it into such a small device I have no idea

I haven't anything major happen with this app. I tried using other Bible apps but this one seems to work best for me. I guess that is why I keep going back to it and have it on my phone as well. I have even downloaded the free books which were good as well. This is a good app and I have recommended it to others. However, I always tell them to judge it for yourself. March 13, 2017 Didnt realize I was using this app this long. Seems to work fine for me. I do really like the fact I can use it offline. Which was a big thing for me. Will continue to use app as much as I can.

It's nice that the bibles and resources can be tagged to one app.. the notes and the icons for the notes are the ones i love. :) however, it takes some getting used to to highlight per verse. You cant just select multiple verses and highlight (or at least inhavent figured out how to do that). But overall a great app :)

Have been using this app for a fair few years now. Easy to use and search. The only thing that I am not as happy about (compared to the older version) is that if you want to check a verse in say Matthew Henry, it doest take you directly there, it's close, but might be half a chapter out. I can cope with it, just have to remember the verse and chapter. Lovely and quick for searching and everything can be used offline

So many things can be said of having a Bible that's always with you, always handy, and the fun this app provides, gives great incentive to read, study and memorize something every day... The resources feature is especially wonderful, allowing so much more to be added to the basic Bible; maps, commentaries, dictionaries, study guides - well, that list alone can go on and on. Easy learning curve and intuitive interface, with all the versions you could ask for, make this a fantastic companion and blessing!

I've used this app for over 2 years now. The bible study tools are amazing and very powerful. For example with Strongs dictionary you can search for almost any word, and it will show you the Hebrew or Greek word and where else the exact same word appears in scripture. Note making is easy and you can tag to topics. Some bibles are free to download. My only slight negative is that ebooks aren't cheap (about £20 I think e.g. for the ESV study bible), but I guess they use income to support and develop the app. Highly recommended!

This is one of them best electronic Bible readers I have used over the past 25+ years. I started using this program when the first Ipaq devices came out. Olivetree upgraded the software and features as technology changed. I now use this as a primary Bible Reader for my daily Bible reading. There are now several free versions one can use. The split screen feature when used with the different versions, help one understand God's word better. I highly recommend this program to all seekers of God"s message to us

Very surprised how useful and easy to use it is. I been putting off reading the bible for year's. This app is helping me stay closer to Jesus, being able to read one version and refer to a different version to get a better understand/meaning of what i'm reading all at the same time with the split screen option. I have another app that's better in different ways but for reading this is surely the best one Olive Tree

Fully customisable font sizes & colors, which is great. Not recommended if you don't have a newish phone - on a slower device it's nigh-unusable it takes so long to startup or load the dual pane (which is otherwise a very useful feature). Comes with an online account and store that you're probably not interested in.

I have bern using Olive tree bible reader since I had a blackberry phone, the ease of use, ability to keep your library on different devices and the amount of different study bibles you can own is phenomenal. When I switched to Android I stopped carrying my paper bible and now carry the word in my pocket and on my tablet, my tablet has become my study Bible, and with 9 different study bibles I can cross reference alot. The item is exactly as described, extremely useful, and easy to use. You can connect to the app with or without the internet/WiFi services. It runs really fast in moving between the books as well. :-) #ImSatisfied, it's been a blessi g to have this sort of app while being in the go. It's great for the phone and tablet usage. I thank God for whoever came up with it. :-), I love it!

Update 3/17/2017: Has a glitch when coming back to the text after device times out: it won't load the texts that were already open. Olive Tree works smoothly only if staying in text. This is the only Bible app that has this issue--please fix! This happens on my Android tablet and phone. Marries the worlds of reading and studying pretty well! Glad it contains Greek and Hebrew texts. To be a 5 star app it needs: 1. More affordable Greek texts and tools. Accordance actually offers way more for less money for original languages package. 2. Smoother interface when scrolling tandem texts...little slow. Tecarta Bible has nailed it perfectly in this area. 3. More thorough search features for tagged Greek and Hebrew words. Thanks!

I've had this app since the old PDA days, circa 1999. The store options have grown tremendously. The offerings of study Bibles is first rate. Being able to look at several different Bible versions of the same passages is great for better biblical understanding. I love the sync feature. I sync my Android phone and tablet case well as my Win 10 laptop. You can bookmark passages, multi-color highlight words to paragraphs, and great notes imbedded in the text of the Bibles and resources (study guides), as well as put personal tag categories. Plus there are a "gazillion" books available for reading and study. Did I mention they have great customer service? Yes, I do love this app.

STOP STOP STOP!! FINALLY everything is running smoothly and the "Resource Guide" button is back. PLEASE developers STOP and leave well enough alone. NO MORE TINKERING! No more updates! I don't appreciate not being able to use what I paid for. As of now it's fast and smooth, please stop experimenting. All is well. Don't let the new tech guy try and proove himself.

I use this app more than anything else on my phone. Starting with free and inexpensive Bibles, I soon realized that I could expand my studies easily (I'm all about easy) by hyperlinking dictionaries, maps, and Strong's. The search tool is a must and quickly directs me to where God prompts me.

Have been using this App for more than 10yrs. Used to be very interactive and no problem with cross references and flipping from each bible books to another. However, in recent few versions, seems to take a v long time to move from one book to another. Keep spooling. It jus keep hanging. Have been using it w my Samsung Note 4.

This app has helped me a lot especially when I find myself not having a Bible (paperback). It has a simple and interactive user interface. You don't have to worry about it taking time to boot, It starts instantly. Great app. Would recommend it to any Christian seeking to be encouragement from the Bible.

I like this Bible study app very much. But, after my motog4 got nougat update this app force closes when opening books. Also when I go to the store all my downloads are not marked as installed. No idea what's with this app and the nougat update. I did a phone reset with no improvement. Very dissapointed with olive tree.

I got a code to redeem the NIV Zondervan study bible. I successfully downloaded the app, and then the study notes. I have tried a dozen or more times to download the nivzsb from my account, and it says it has completed downloading, but doesn't appear on my list of items downloaded. On top of that, I can't find how to contact olive tree for help. Really bummed.

Is there a lite version of the App? I simply need a reader for my purchased titles. This App is so poorly written, which makes it resource hungry, thus crashing a flagship phone. Surely reading text offline shouldn't require an 80MB App? Why does it take so long to load? Are you data mining?

This is an exceptional Bible study tool which has many very good Bibles and resources available for free. The app functions in an intuitive way, so using its many features are easily accessible. However, I have been having many issues with the app - things like the screen blacking out when switching between apps and then returning to it, resources not installing properly, as well as Bibles and books failing to load at all. And there should be away to look at my purchase history within the app.

I've played with nearly all the bible apps with downloadable libraries (a must since I fly a lot) and this one has the most professional looking & feature-rich UI as well as the largest library of bible versions and Christian reference books for additional purchase. The books aren't cheap, but reasonable compared to their hard copy versions. There are also many free expired copyrighted materials. But the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is it's slow to open as well as slow to jump to different verses. [updated 5/1/2016 - upgraded phone from HTC Sensation 4G to LG G4. Loads much faster. Now a pleasant experience using this powerful/flexible GUI.]

What a great work! No greater works can surpass McAthur and the inspiration I get from ESV.The Lord reward the the team of OliveTree Study Bible immensely. How unseasonable are the depths of thy word. Yet my soul will cleave evermore to it.

It was great until they removed the Exit button. An Android device slows down considerably when you have several apps hanging in memory. The developer's recommendation for exiting the app is to "long press the back button twice, then force close". What a clumsy and brutal way to exit an app! Force-closing an app is something you typically do for a misbehaving app!

Got it? good. Fully customizable in appearance. Takes a while to load on older devices, but nothing else looks this good. Note that I already reviewed it after installing a custom rom. It's gotten even better since the latest update. It's more stable now. Split screen work on the right side of my tablet, but doesn't work on the left side. Get to work on that.

This app has helped me understand the bible better. I have recommended this app to several people. The availability is awesome. Waiting at a doctor's office or a friend allows be to read and research my word. I have challenged people to show me that in the bible then I whip my app out and read to them from the Bible. I love it thank you may God continue to bless you.

I don't know what's gone wrong with this once great app. But now it takes so long to load. Then continual buffering and finally freezes. The last update has wrecked it's use for me and I have a big library that I can't use. I have had to find alternative app because of continual malfunctioning of this one.

im an indian army. im foundless of God n readless of God words. i forgot that He is helping n caring me till now. i read no bible even thought i have my Bible. more time at phone games. but by this app. i start reading n spend even a little time to read God words... thanks u so much... n hope i will live peacefully from now... n u made it great of this one..

By far the best bible study app on the market. Being able to sync between Windows, Mac OS and Android is the bomb. NOTE TO DEVELOPERS: Please add a "verse-of-the-day" widget!!!! I hate having to install a 2nd bible app just to get this.

I'll keep say the same thing about this application! My life has been blessed by this wonderful application! I want to thank the developers for it! This new version is even better than the last one. May God continue to use you all!

This app is a blessing. I read two languages and I like where you can read both without having two paper bible books opened, let alone, both versions are synchronized while reading. And by adjusting the size of the words I am able to read it more clearly as I increase them, if needed.

I enjoy this app and get to use it regularly. It opens quite fast. I am giving it 4 stars because it often removes my bible reading plan thus I have to uninstall and reinstall it for me to pick up where I left off which is quite bothersome.

I'm quite amazed that two years ago I loved this app so much and now that I have a new phone the app is actually better! I can't really list all of the incredible help I've been given by this app, but bless everyone involved, thank you all so much! Be prepared for a massive amount of free reading content. Learning curve is very small now. To new users intimidated by digital resources, remember Psalm 23! God bless you all.

Some software, you welcome updates as resolving bugs. Others, you dread updates because experience has taught you the devs will be introducing more bugs, because their focus is mainly on gimmickry. Firmly in the latter category here. Keep your money out of Rupert Murdoch's hands and use a different app. Addendum: note the automatic template reply to any critical rating here - sure sign of an organisation that doesn't really care.

Newest update causes crash almost every time I try to highlight. :-( This app is definitely getting better in general though. It's good that they're responding to users. Still haven't fixed the toolbar hide/show. Copy controls in editing notes does not show the typical android tools. It still doesn't act like an Android app. Also cannot copy text of a title in notes. And the new notification thing is not useful, just annoying.

I've been using this app for years, but the latest update keeps crashing and is very difficult to use. Searches don't load and then the app crashes. The app even froze and crashed when I tried to use the "request help" feature.

In general the app has great features that makes it stand above other Bible apps. The only thing I have noticed is with each subsequent release, the loading time has gone up and up. It now takes about 30-60 seconds for my Bible to come up on the screen. This is the reason for the 3 stars.
