The GPS is set to update every 5 seconds or 5 meters by default. This means lower battery consumption but also the speed display etc may not update as frequently as you like. If you wish to change the delay, edit the last figure in the settings file from 5 to a lower number. 0 means update constantly.

Only offers MPH. so pretty much useless for many countries Thanks for advise. Will give it a try next time out.
