About BlueputDroidPro

*** Root required ***

This application will allow to use your device as a remote mouse and keyboard for your PC/PS3.
Since low level apis are used, there is no way by now to ensure 100% compatibility with all devices (because of different bluetooth implementations of some vendors): if the log says "invalid or inactive bluetooth device" your only option is to try a different ROM like Cyanogenmod (if available).

Look at the video tutorials for more info:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU2Gwv3YmzA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQiCy46KCTE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfF6Qp1CUQU

Quick tutorial:
- Open the application and click on the start button (top/left button ">")
- Check for errors in the log window
- IMPORTANT: if you got the error "invalid or inactive bluetooth device", your device is not supported and your only option is to try a different ROM like Cyanogenmod (I cannot fix that because the problem is at "kernel" level).
- Pair your device with an host of your choice*
- Once paired, click on the lens button (secondo top/left) to refresh the available bluetooth devices
- Click on a device of your choice to establish a connection
- Once connected a green screen should appear
- Single press to simulate the left mouse button (the background should change in blue)
- Double press to simulate the right mouse button (the background should change in red)
- Hit "menu" to show/hide/change the keyboard

*Tested hosts:
- PS3: works
- Linux: works (tested on Ubuntu 10.10)
- Windows 7: not working yet
- MAC: ? (not tested)
- Vizio Internet TV: works

NOTE: please try before the free version to check the compatibility with your device! Once stable, this version will be upgraded without any other cost.

I have to start off by saying that the app is indeed great. Extremely handy to take full control of your PS3 (I have a phatboy). Works with stock release of Android, but will NOT work with custom roms. Because custom roms are not endorsed or supported by Google, it should not be a negative against the app. The issue is only that support is poor altogether from the developer's end. That is why the 3 stars. Support is a must in this day and age if you are charging for a product or service.

Tried this out on my Asus Transformer Prime with ICS and works great. Like others, would like to see the PS button but works flawlessly as a keyboard.

My Xperia Play on if I could make this into a PS3 controller, Don't seem to be working yet with PS3 Any ideas?

Just purchased because I was basically wanting a remote control for Amazon Instant video so I did not have controllers all over or purchase the stupid bluetooth remote for the PS3. Got all synced up, only to find that there is no PS button, nor does the X button seem to work. Please, such an app is sorely needed by the Android community, and this is the closest I have seen anyone come. Please fix these issues, and will be perfect. I bought the pro version to support your efforts.

This is exactly what I need for my ps3 instead of using a hard keyboard. Works awesome on my Galaxy Note. Will seriously recommend this app to anyone with a ps3.

Stopped working with Jelly Bean. Developer did not respond to inquiries.

Easy to hook up. More or less plug and play if u got the right phone I guess. Voice typing would be cool though. So get to work. :)

The interface is really showing it's age now and better controls are probably easily adaptable.

you need to root your phone for this app to work, I'm using a Galaxy S2 and flashing it takes no time atall :) got it for the playstation and works nicely. This app has great potential and i can't wait to see when it's has more compatibility. only problem I have with it is the ps3 keyboard compatibility, used it fine to navigate through the PS3 menus and start netflix. started typing fine but when it came to using the @ key in the email i couldn't find the correct key to press :( i tried the @ key but it brought up " do i tried switching the language to american english but it was still the same... and then i noticed quite a few of the other symbols were muddled up. dunno if it's just me/my phone or if it's a bug? TLDR: Great app for PS3 5*, but have the controller handy just in case ;)

I love this app, it's working perfectly for me. I would however like it to be more polished. I.e. the possibility to go fullscreen and more subtle colors for the touchpad screen. Update for people having troubles connecting: note that you must pair the phone with the PC AFTER having started this app! If they are already paired un-pair, both in the phone BT setting and on the PC, start the app and pair again. The PC bluetooth must know that the phone can work as a BT mouse, or it won't accept it.

I've been looking for a way to use my phone as a mouse for my tablet. I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and a Moto Razr. I just bought a bluetooth keyboard/case and didn't even think of it having a trackpad on it. So I started searching around the internet about using a bluetooth mouse with my tablet. Many websites suggested I purchase an adapter for a mouse. I bought one from eBay, but it hasn't arrived, and I don't necessarily like the thought of having to drag around an actual mouse with my tablet. This app saved me from that. I tried the free one, but I loved it so much, I bought the app to support the developer. I gave 5 stars because it suits my needs very well. But, if I were to make a suggestion for improvement, I'd make it possible to scroll without the long press and flick. Perhaps program the trackpad to have the sides and bottom to allow you to scroll easily.

Connects beautifully to my Linux desktop. Very handy, especially for viewing movies. Suggestion: I'd pay for a barcode scanning version acting as a Bluetooth keyboard

I thought this app was a cool idea, and new it was not complete... I bought pro, thinking it was going to be improved upon... kinda waiting for the controller for PS3 to work, with all the buttons The ease, abd functionality works wondeefully for the touch pad, as i connected to transformer prime, as it was hooked to a 50 inch plasma TV. Please update.. great idea, keep it going, touch pad, six axis, and maybe a play stop remote.. would be neat. Z

It appears that the developer has stopped development for this app. If I understand correctly, Google incorporated a different Bluetooth driver in the latest versions of Android which requires a complete redesign of this application. The app worked very well on my older phone but I haven't been able to get it running on anything running jelly bean 4.2. Also, I'm disappointed that it never got the PS button for the sixaxis mode. That's a requirement for the PS3 as far as I'm concerned.

Would like to use it, it would be great if you could fix it. It used to work great. Now it takes a long time to start. When it finally does, I get warning that it requires root privileges. It does not seem to request them properly, though. Next it reports that Bluetooth stack is unsupported, and suggests Cyanogen. If this is true, application description should note this issue.

This is exactly what I've been looking for for a while - a straight up bluetooth HID app that doesn't require installing drivers on the receiving device... Works great once you get it working. Two comments though: (A) blueputdroid-daemon is causing extremely high CPU load averages on my Galaxy Nexus and on my Galaxy Note 10.1 (load averages as high as 50.00 - as I understand it, anything over [# of cores] x 1 indicates a problem...); and (B) installing is a bit tricky, but here's how I got it to work for anyone else having trouble: (1) unpair the devices; (2) start up blueputdroid, then pair devices with blueputdroid running; (3) connect devices; (4) stop blueputdroid, and restart it. It worked for me after doing that.

Keyboard works on my PS3 but when I go into the amazon video app the dpad works but not the X, triangle, square or circle. Not sure what the issue of could be but I bought this app so I could watch videos without needing a controller. Disappointed.

New update is really great buddy, thanks. Really like the UI improvements. A slightly smoother swap between sixaxis and the keyboard would be amazing. Is there any way to emulate the ps button to switch on the ps3 from stand by?

Enabled me to use my galaxy note 1 as a keyboard and pad to controll my note 2. All the those other wireless remote apps should work like this. This way you dont need any client server bs software to install on the other pc. Only thing missing is way to controll menu, home and back buttons on the other device. And pinch and zoom aka multitouch would be nice

Had been running the free version for awhile on my AT&T Captivate and I love it! It works great for DCUO on PS3. Just add support for the Android Hacker's Keyboard so the F keys work and you'll get all 5 stars!! I admit i haven't touched the Sixaxis control function, but since I have a Logitech Harmony One there's no need. Add support for the Hacker's Keyboard & you're golden. Stopped working after cm10.1 update which is annoying since the error message states to 'use a custom rom like cyanogenmod. Keep up!

I was able to pair my old Epic 4g with my new Galaxy S3, epics hardware keyboard works too. Now with my GS3 hooked up to HDMI to my living room tv, I can control it with my Epic 4g. Pairing was super simple too, I was up and running in less than 1min. A tip for anyone wanting to use this combo on a TV, get another app called Null Input Method by Apedroid, this will keep the onscreen keyboard from poppin up on the android device that hooked to the tv. Requests for the developer: 1. Softkeys for android; Home , Back and Menu, possibly in a custom keyboard type fashion. 2. Tap zones for left and right click, small tappable areas; the single and double finger long taps, are tricky to use consistently. 3.The track pad feature is awesome, great work, it's super responsive.

Really loved this app but it doesn't work with android 4.2. Android changed the Bluetooth stack so this app needs to be updated to be compatible. Nexus 4 on cm 10.1

Didn't pay just so it can be limited to some phones. I tried every custom ROM on the nexus n doesn't work. Even on cm10.1 it says doesn't have the right BT stack. Wth :( used to love this app
