Bullshit-O-Meter

The Bullshit-O-Meter is a highly scientific* tool for the analysis of texts, websites and wikipedia-entries.
It measures the percentage of bullshit (defined as common nonesense, stopwords, euphemisms, etc.) and returns the exact value in MilliGaucs.

One Gauc ("Generic Astronomical Unit of Crap") or 1000 milliGaucs equal the percentage of bullshit that one high-ranking politician can produce in an average speech.

To achieve this, it measures diverse statistical factors (e.g. repitition of words, comparison with common euphemisms and stopwords, structure and length of sentences, etc.).

The Bullshit-O-Meter is calibrated by political speeches and texts of crappy journalism. It is programmed for english and german texts.

A value below 500 Milligaucs signifies a decent text, everything above can be seen as utter bullshit.
The known "record" for the worst result in english texts with 17 Gaucs (17000 Milligaucs) is held by the comment-section of a very popular youtube-video. Please let us know if you get a worse result anywhere on the internet.

*The term "scientific" is to be understood in the sense of "not scientific at all". Of course no program can realistically tackle the complexity of human language. It's still quite a lot of fun, though.

This permission is neccessary for the analysis of websites. As usual, no data is being collected by us. This app runs strictly client-sided and HTML-requests are only used to get the HTML-Code of the sites you want to analyze.
