ClipSync for Android
Great app! Doesn't need an internet connection and does exactly what I need it to do. Good thing for those of us on a metered data plan. Downside; can't get it to work through my phone's hotspot. Even though I've connected my PC to my phone's hotspot and technically, both the phone and the PC are on the same network, it won't recognize the server on the PC side. Unless I create the hotspot on my PC and as it says, connect the phone to it via wifi. Don't know why it specifically needs the connection this way when in effect all that it requires is for both the phone and the PC to be on the same network.
I first used this app on an android 2.3.5 device some years ago. worked like a charm. Recently I needed to use this on android M. I was not sure whether it will work or not because it was last updated in 2012. But it worked fine with some minor glitches. Sometimes it stopped syncing amd I had to restart the app
Had some weird behavior at first, after restarting service on PC it looks like it is working well. Hoping both phone and PC have "always on" settings where the service will always be running and connected as long as I am on wifi.
... (between Win7 Ultimate and Android 2.3.6). I need to do a preliminary exchange from Android to Win; until it pastes what i copied. Then it works vice versa; otherwise not.
I want to like this app, but there are problems with it. (1) the restriction that the phone has to be on WiFi to contact the server is arbitrary. Why shouldn't the user be able to use any network he/she wants to? What's wrong with 3g/4g ? (2) It is difficult to tell when the phone is connected to the server, because neither the GUI on the phone nor the server icon in the system tray give any clear indication that the phone is connected. It would be nice if the tray icon changed color or something to indicate the connection status, and the GUI on the phone as well. Thanks for listening.
Works great, except for some freezes when copying text. It doesn't always happen, and the duration varies, but from time to time my phone will lock up for a few seconds, saying it's syncing clipboards
It sometimes stops working until manually launched and connected to the server again. By some unknown reason I have to do it twice. Also I think it would be nice to keep an icon at the status bar so a user could see if it still works. Nonetheless, it's the very useful app.
Synced immediately without me asking it, and that what I was looking for. Also managed to sync UTF-8 characters "Arabic in my case" which other apps failed to do. A quick suggestion thought. I think it would be better to keep/show the latest 5 clipboard content for example. To review it, instead of using 2 apps for managing the same thing. If one app could that, Sync Clipboard, View/Manage Clipboard history that wold be wonderful. Thanks.
Excellent app.Notes given on the app to install is very clear. AT one stroke it worked nicely. Request the author to tell whether there is any security hole in using this app or not? CONGRATS for developing this useful app. K. SHANMUKHA SUNDARAM
When you install and try it out it works perfectly. It's simple and great. The problem is that when you need it later on it doesnt work. It loses connetion at some point and doesn't reconnect. Even when you connect it manually at this point it doesnt work. Too much hassle to be usefull
Working perfect on my phone till now. One problem I am facing is that when I copy large text, It doesn't support. Please fix it if its possible. Otherwise its good application.
it works on my home network, but it wouldn't find my computer on my work network. also the service would stop when I'd go out of range and require me to manually re-enable it every time. Clipbrd is a much better solution for my needs.
Was able to setup and copy very easily the first time. Second time I copied on the PC, it would not update the clipboard on the Android. I look, and it had stopped. Worked after restarting the android app.
I thought it will not work seeing the old ui. But actually it works :) . EDIT. Windows server client forcefully stop working sometimes. I have to restart that application from pc. It will be great if you update it with fixes
I've been looking for something exactly like this for a while now. I hate following links to websites that people text me on my phone. Now I can copy them to my browser on my pc. Great work. Thanks.
Forwarding Port 22983 in the new version allows connection but "Fake wifi connection" Xposed module is required. Would love to see an auto reconnect and a tasker integration.
When it works it's great, but half the time it will "sync" something I copied hours ago and ignore all new clipboard data. When it doesn't work it's faster to manually copy than to get it working again.
Worked very well a few times. Since then, it crashed often and then froze my Win7 clipboard, eventually crashing explorer. Excellent idea, but ultimately non-functional on my Win7 64bit PC. No saving the world from meteors for me :( I will wait for updates and try again, and hopefully give these clever devs a better rating.
great app! Very very handy, especially when you need to do a lot of data entry directly from your phone, for example when you get a new phone. I use it on Windows PC with a free clipboard manager (Ditto) and Android with another free clip logger (Clipstore or Clipper or QuickCopy)
I'm at Android Marshmallow paired with Windows 10 and I like this program very much. But, I will be really happy if the ClipSync Server will be more stable and understandable, by clicking this desktop icon I always get the message "ClipSync Server has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" and nothing more, even then when it seems everything works. Thanks for a good work on probably the best copy/paste multi device app. I wish you success, please don't give up.
I have a digital diary on my laptop which ( sadly)does not have an android version yet. This simple app saves me. thanks devs.
Please keep developing this app. I would buy it if it was better, easier to use, sync over mobile networks also and made with material design. It is a really great opportunity to sync clipboards! I use ClipX on my pc, and Clip Stack on my android to keep my clipboard history. It would be really great if I could have all the sync and history functionality with only Your apps! Thanks!
2-3 seconds after connecting to the server on my PC, both the app and the desktop crash with no error messages. Uninstalled.
Simple & no sensitive data being transmitted anywhere remote, which is exactly what is necessary for security. Needed something like this since Pushbullet decided to be douchebags & put universal copy/paste behind a paywall suddenly & without warning in new updates! Thank you for this, it's invaluable. Would seriously appreciate the ability to add my 2 other PC's to the mix, like I had with pushbullet. Really miss it & need it! Maybe a companion for desktop to connect in the same way as the app? Please!
Works perfect when my mobile (Andriod) is connected through Wireless and PC through LAN. Doesn't work when I connect both PC and Mobile through Wireless network. !!
It was perfectly working on Windows 8.1. But now after the OS update to Windows 10, the server could not connect to my devices. Please fix this bug. Am using Asus ZenFone 5.
Would give 5 stars if you could enter computer name rather than ip address
Exactly what I wanted! Works on Two of my lollipop devices. LG G2 and Samsung tab s.
Have been using this app for the past few days and I really like it. Works and runs well so far.
Instead of a tiring notification each time I disconnect from network I would recommend watching for a network connection and when it is known and established check for known server. The app could and should work in background with minimum to zero user intervention. Like pushbullet
I cannot make it to connect to my clipsync server in Windows. I recently bought a Note 4 and I'm using Android 5.0.1. Some time ago I had a Note 3 (upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 too) and it worked very well. Is it a known problem?
When I copy something non text like a spreadsheet, the server in windows 8.1 crash! pls fix as soon
from ClipSync server running on Win8.1 Pro 64-bit. Couldn't get copy or paste to work with Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy Note 2. I did have success with Pushbullet.
This is one of those apps where you are sitting there trying to do some stupid thing on your smartphone and you're like "why isn't there an app that does this simple thing?!". Then you Google it and then somebody already made the app and it works perfectly. Then you keep it forever because it's super useful. The only downside is that there's no Bluetooth, but I managed to get the same functionality by making my laptop host a Wi-Fi network that my phone can connect to.
Nessasary fundamental too, there will always be something better, but that's in the future and this is now
Worked great, other than having to put in the IP, but I alway have to do that. thanks
I don't recommend this software for folks running lollipop android 5.0 I've done everything I can to try and make this thing work will not work at all crashes at startup of your phone over and over and over Samsung galaxy Note4 SM-N910V Verizon. Sorry dev I've submitted many reports I really really wanted this to work for my needs, I was hoping to sync this with my desktop using ditto on desktop Clipper+ on android ban prefect way to sync them up. for now one star and one star for the idea so total of two stars. Hi5 Justin Cram dyingjedi
Good app however the Windows ClipSync server could've been written in native code, not .NET so it takes less memory. Also it crashes when I clear my phone's clipboard.
Used my phone for hand recognition keyboard and all i have to do is copy the text when i am done and paste it on the document on my laptop. One thing to note is that the connection will close after a period of inactiveness but all you have to do is open the app and press connect and done. Its up and running again. Looking forward to bluetooth support in the future tho.
