BBC Weather for Android
We use this a lot and find it's pretty much always accurate for the first 3 days and close after that. I'm aware that that is about as good that can be predicted for the UK given our peculiar location in the N Atlantic! There are 2 "wish list" items which would give it 6* :) Access to the shipping forecast for nearest area, and tide tables. It would help those of us on the coast to make educated guesses about river depths, currents etc. Could save lives!
When one considers that the earth revolves around it's Axis at Approx. 24,000 miles per hour, and then around the Sun through all sorts of conditions, not forgetting it's axis of inclination to the Sun, what more can one expect from our weather forcasters. .....
Brilliant app and I would have given it five were it not for the fact that it spells the name of my village wrong . Have emailed twice but to no avail. It's Hernhill, a small Kentish village on the slopes of The Blean, three miles from Faversham. Hernehill is an area of South London famed for it's velodrome. Very different places. Please delete the extraneous E!
Great app, better than the one already installed on my HTC10! It works quickly and smoothly and the displays are very user-friendly, like the Beeb on tv! Any chance of a rain probability percentage?
I find the information to be accurate a lot of the time. I like that you can look at a whole week, even though it doesn't give the full info for the latter part of the week.
App looks nice and it's is easy to navigate through, but very inaccurate forecasts. They keep changing every hour and seem to simply be predicting the current weather - I'd be better looking out my window!
I like the app. But the BBC cannot forecast the weather in our area. Maybe it's due to staff cut backs or out of date forecasting . Last night there was no rain until Sunday of I left the garden furniture out. Woke up this morning to wet. sort it out!
It's easy to use and I like the ability to save regularly visited places as favourites which makes forecasts easy to look up. It's been very accurate during the short time I've been using it and it does exactly what I need.
I had to reinstall it to get it to update again after a month when it wouldn't. It amuses me to have 4 weather apps; the BBC's tends to forecast somewhere in the middle. There hasn't been a single day in two years where all have agreed!
Generally useful and pretty accurate for coming 24hours but app stops updating after a few days and has to be uninstalled, then reinstalled. This keeps it running until it seizes up again, v frustrating. This problem has occurred for last couple of months and becoming more frequent - the app only ran for 3 days without a reinstall in recent days...
Still one of the best weather apps I've seen. One or two bugs such as the day occasionally freezes and flood warning sometimes don't clear but on the whole still a very informative and accurate app. Loving the new next hour feature.
Very accurate and you can lock in places you want to check instead of searching like other apps. My son travels for his job and depends on it. Told me about it. GREAT APP x
The weather widgets are broken on the Lenovo P2. Tried clearing cache & restart, no fix. Otherwise its a good App which I use on several Samsung devices with no problems. On them the Widget works fine.
HTC u ultra, nice app Tho very inaccurate toDay say heavy showers yet been sunny in ls26 0ly. Not impressed. As BBC ment to be best on show. Please sort.
Very intrusive. Even after editing the settings so it does not show info on locked screen I can still see the weather background on my S8
Good WHEN it works. Frequently stalls and fails to update. Also not sure why apps like this always want to know my location. IRRELEVANT. If i want to know the weather in Westshire, it does not matter where I am right now!! Update: still freezes and fails to update. Reduced to 1 star because I can't give it zero stars. Uninstall and use the Met Office instead.
Weather forcast is fairly accurate but VERY changable. Seems I get a new/different forcast every time I view it. Its rain forcast would be better as a % chance of rain, many times its forcast heavy rain and we just have a lot of cloud.
its the most useful weather app i have used it always seems pretty accurate for local daily weather and pretty good for a several day forecast i know nothing is 100% with uk weather but at least it gives you some warning
Nice UI, today weather sorted by hours. Can look at days in advance... and is simple wich is a nice thing. Regarding any forecast mistakes, they happen always, no matyer BBC or any other forecast station.
I gave it 4 stars because it can only predict maybe a couple of days and sometimes that can change or is not entirely accurate. Two weeks is way to long and often changes so I don't bother looking at more than three days ahead. If you use it as a guide, that's OK, take a raincoat, because I've been caught out a few times, despite rain not been forecast.
BBC weather is my go to weather app for any place in the world, I love it. Wouldn't mind a barometric gauge over a few days to be visible somewhere as I am a weather induced migraine sufferer....
Downgraded to 1 * because it doesn't update. It is stuck on 30 May. It keeps saying Updated on 30 May 17. It used to work fine, now suddenly stopped. Please fix!
Nice looking and stable. app. However, since the idea is to forecast the weather where I am, this is near useless. Terrible accuracy. 3/10
This app is accurate. I like being able to see weather for today and the next few days. I also like seeing sunrise and sunset for each day. An added bonus is being able to view other areas as well as locally.
Love the display, great widget, worked straight away. Really fast, don't have to wait for hourly reports to log up. Weather at my fingertips. Much better than the stock app on my phone.
Probably the best weather app. Simple elegant design. Doesn't give a probabilistic forecast if that is what you want. Don't like the new "tomorrow", prefer name of day.
Every time I enter the app, it has the Warnings Issued exclamation mark on the current day. When I click on it to view the warning, it's for ice, in February 2017!! Once clicked, it disappears, but it is there every time
But only 4 stars... Will be 5, if in the night time I will see dark sky, and stars, and lunar fase... Now what I see?! Is 1:30 in the night and I see blue sky and shining sun... Stupid!
Found this app as a replacement for the met office one?( no longer compatible with my device) it's a good one but could be more accurate, I have to agree with John Phelps of 6/6/17ap says cloud but no rain out the window is rain. I live in the south West peninsula.
I list all my favourite locations. Instant access to the weather there. Still using it daily gives upto date information for local weather. Excellent. Unsure why but keeps failing to connect correctly when using the widget. The normal app works though. Odd
It has been raining now for 5 hours. The app didn't forecast rain and still maintains that currently we have light cloud! Over the last few months the forecast accuracy has got pretty poor. What's happened BBC?
Its a joke they tell you in advance that weathers fine and then its not....all the millions poured into predicting it and this nonsense! ...go back to wee pics and no satellite guff...older was reliable way
Not that accurate! Cannot entirely rely on the forecasting. When it says it will be sunny, it usually rains. And when it says it will rain, it usually doesn't. In summary, to me, in Calderdale, it always rains, and when there is an exceptional sunshine, it's so humid that one is wet anyway. The worst weather here from all 8 places I ever lived around the world - England = no real snow in winter & no real sunshine in summer. I cannot wait till the time I'm finally dead.
Addicted to this app I am checking every 30 minutes. One star missing because from the last 72h the app is not uploading as fast as before.
In landscape the tabs across the bottom show ONLY the days of the week, no weather symbol or data. This is at variance with the screen shots shown on the app store. Given the acres of screen space available on the Note 4, something of an annoyance. Portrait display is OK.
Had the app a few months and it appears as accurate as others used. Expect a certain level of service from the BBC and they have delivered
I love the fact that it's localised, the met Office app now only has London for where I live, that's too large an area to be much use. This app is really good.. So far.
Nowhere near as good as the previous app. I think our forecast comes from a weather station 40 miles away - on the other side of a mountain range.
Very handy app, mostly accurate and frequently updated forecast, but occasionally way off, for instance it can forecast heavy rain for the next two hours but the sun keeps shining all day. I definitely wouldn't be without this app, though, much more accurate than AccuWeather

You really do need to sort out the app updating weather info, as it showed today it hasn't updated for 11 hours! It's set to update hourly! When I check it, it sits there spinning away, saying it's updating. It doesn't do anything of the sort at all. Getting really annoyed at this, as in my job I need a reliable weather app, as I work outside all year round. The only way to get it to work is to force stop, or reinstall it. Downgraded to 2 stars because of this annoying issue. Before this problem it worked fine with no problems at all. This has been a frequent issue for about three months now. Also I have superb 4G and broadband connections outside and indoors too. All my other apps work without any problems.
