Zephyrus Lite works as a proper anemometer, just using your smartphone microphone!
Dynamic and Average wind speed measuring modes (m/s, km/h) with real time charts, wind direction display (compass) and easy calibration. Last but not least, it is free! Simply the best.
The typical wind range is 1-16 m/s (max 20 m/s): the full scale is limited by the internal mic maximum SPL No sensors required.

When kept two mobile side by side (Asus zenfone and MI4). app on MI4 is showing wind speed as 2-3 m/s, app on Asus zenfone will show 7-8 m/s, which is quite impossible at ground level, when wind is not speedy

Using LG G4, very poor accuracy, gives a reading of 10 knts when blowing 20... Readings only in m/s on free version.

Would not recommend this app. to replace a real anemometer. The wind measurement was off by over half of the realtime airspeed measurement. It has possibilities if it could read realtime airspeed measurement.

That is so cool ! I just saved 20 bucks. This will be good enough for me to know the wind speed when I fly my Rc Helicopter ! Thanks for this great App !

I sail and use a Speedtech WM-200 to measure wind speed. I though would be ghood to have a backup just in case, so I installed this app. Tested it by running it simultaneously with the Speedtech WM-200 and I'm less than impressed.When the WM-200 was showing 1.6 meters per second, the app was showin 7.8. had it been 1.8 would have been acceptable, but such big difference is way too much to consider it a serious measuring device. it is being uninstalled.

Cool app, would be even better if there was an option for the unit to be put in mph (miles per hour)

No listing here states that it cannot work with Samsung. I bought the app ,waste my money. Cannot even test temperature becos it does not work with my phone.
