About First Off The Tube

First Off The Tube helps you board the Tube, Overground, and the DLR in order to be closest to your exits and interchanges at the chosen station. It incorporates a detailed database of each and every exit and interchange found on the Tube system and works perfectly well while you're underground as it needs no internet connection or GPS information. You can search by line, or just by the station name to find the station you're looking for.
The app also provides information on the closest stations to a number of London's tourist attractions and the Olympic venues. Enjoy!

ps.: if you have queries as to how to use the app or comments, do drop me an email, especially before leaving negative feedback. Thank you.

pps.: People, this app is not related in any ways to Tube Assitant or any of the others. I don't care if your v6 android phone can't work with TA, it's not my app. Contact the author of that app if you have issues with it.
pps2.: I know the design is outdated - there are numerous screenshots and a video on what it looks and how it works, if you find it okay, buy the app, if you don't, then don't buy the app only to tell me it's ugly.

What happened to Tube assistant? It stopped working that I need to pay 99p for this crap? I done know if I'm travelling eastbound or westbound. The app should ask what station I'm getting in and off at and tell me the best carriage to get on. Just like tube assistant. This piece of crap appears to ask your destination but not that you'd know and then asks what direction your coming from?????? Why make it so difficult? Will be looking for a refund I think. STAY AWAY if you don't own a compass!!!! RUBBISH!!!!

My old phone had this great app called Tube Assistant which believe was free... couldn't find it when i got my new phone but this looked promising... wrong! Its just a really poorly laid out app... If this is supposed to be the sequal to tube assistant then you've massively dropped the ball. If this is just another related app then its kinda ok -tough to figure out direction of travel and quickly find the stop you want to get to. Also gives you no additional or alternative option. BRING BACK TUBE ASSISTANT

Needs a a makeover to Material UI. Very ugly looking.

Love this app. Would be great to have a brief description somewhere explaining what the numbers mean. I assumed the carriage 1 meant the fist carriage from the front. That seems to be right but had to use trial and error to check. Also, I would assume that door 1 would mean first door from the front but based on one station I think it might mean first door from the left (which is the fist door from the BACK if the train is traveling to the right!) Thanks again for the app.

Very simple app, but just the trick. You can feel so smug to be able to head straight out of the station :-)

I use it regularly. Data can get out of date (ie Bond Street during its renovations) but it's usually spot on.

Excellent idea, well executed. Could be better if after checking a station - line - direction, Back button took you one step back rather than to the beginning. Favourites helps though.

Well done for creating the app i thought of but never got round to.

...in favour of Tube Assistant. It has a route planner, doesn't do that ludicrous and unnecessary upload of stations EVERY TIME and shows the direction that the train travels in.

Only been using the app for a few days and find that Piccadilly Circus on the Bakerloo line is missing.

I have one problem though which you have refused to change. The Watford line within the Overground group is North-South. Offering Anticlockwise-Clockwise just results in that use being abandoned.

A very useful app especially when travelling on the tube at rush hour & handy to know which side of the doors open for that particular station also saving hassle to push through people when the train's full. Thank you!

A good app and worth having, but the iPhone's tube platform app outclasses this by miles. So slick and easy to use while you're running for the platform. You enter your route and a diagram of the train shows you exactly where to get on. I wish it was worthwhile for the developer to bring it to Android.

Great app & best thing is that it works when u'r on the tube without a connection!

Works well, does what it says. Found a couple of small errors which I emailed to developer and received reply within 6hours and update issued with 48hrs. Highly Recommended.

Very useful and there's no other app similar to it. Developer responds to suggestions promptly.

Not as good as the iPhone 'tube exits' app. With this app you need to work out you're route first then select which station you want to change at. With the iPhone app, you can type in your location and destination it will tell you your route and which carriage saving you time trying to work out which station on what line you need to select. But overall it does the job.

Would be great to have a guide showing what the numbers refer to.

Does what it says on the tin. No more wading through the crowds.

I love this app. Although I visit London only as a tourist, and therefore am not (usually) in a hurry, it is still handy to reduce "um...er..." time on platforms - whether it's getting a connection, arriving first in the queue for a lift or carrying bags less far. The data loads fast, and the different ways of accessing station info make it so easy to work out. Simple, clever and useful - what more could you want?

This is something I have been looking for, for ages. I have been using it for a couple of months and generally very good. Found a bug today. The option to travel to Kennington on the Charing cross branch, southbound is missing. To be able to put in multiple journeys would be a great improvement. Last thing, the layout and general view of the results could be a little nicer. Then it would get 5 stars.

Y70%
by Y####:

It's completely useless if you don't know from which direction the train is coming from in relation to the platform, which is often the case. Also, some of the information was just plain wrong (e.g. Ladbroke Grove westbound)
