Concept on What It Does?
- If your display screen is off, it toggles the mobile data to turn on/off every few minutes.
- If the display is on, then it wont turn the data on/off
- It detects if 2g/3g/4g is on as well

What's the difference between this and tons of applications out there that turns off the automatically turns off the data when the screen is off?
- I have unlimited internet bandwidth on my phone but limited battery life. I rely on the internet for my instant messaging and work emails. If I use one of those applications that turns off the data when the screen is off, then technically I wont be able to receive those emails until I turn on the screen. That's how the idea of creating Auto Data came from. Basically I want to be able to receive messages while the screen is off without heavy battery usage.
Why Create This App?
- I'm looking for a way to extend battery life of my phone (HTC ONE X) without me having to turn on and off the mobile data manually since I have unlimited mobile data but limited battery life
- I want to learn how to program even the simplest things on Android for my own use

This application requires that Mobile Data is initially turned "on" in Android System Settings to make it work.
Battery Still Draining Fast?
If you flashed a new ROM, you have to give it a few charge cycles in order for the battery to normalized and be calibrated. Usually, 3 - 4 full charge cycles before you'd notice the difference.

Donation can only be done through PayPal at the moment, as Google Checkout doesn't support the country where Im at so until Google Checkout supports comes, no choice but to use PayPal (Sorry about that).

It's a great idea in theory, but it has not been implemented properly. If I disable mobile data once I'm home and on wifi, it keeps turning data back on. Even if I disable the app, it continues to toggle data with the screen. Also, it never turns on data periodically when the screen is locked.

Many apps running in the background using your data connection for updating or collecting info! So this is a solution for that! Data connection turns on when screen is on!

Was going to write something like this app yself until I found it was already available. Biggest battery consumer is the wireless radio, this app handles that problem well. It would be great if the developer would add wifi in similar fashion. Great app.

Great app, it does it's job. Only If the mobile data would not switch off when using wifi tethering, it would make it perfect for me.

Only seems to work when power saving mode is enabled. If power saving mode is disabled the app doesn't turn mobile data on or off at all

Well it seemed to work fine on my droid..... Little slow at starting things up, but it did do it.... Thanks for making one that actually works... We need more developers like U.... Well after a few times of the screen shutting off n back on it stopped working.... It wont start or stop data ofr wifi.... So il changing the stars to 2... Maybe it works fine on newer phones...?

Dear developer, I was happy to read the concept as I was in need of something similar. But this app isn't doing what you claimed. The data turns off once screen is turned off, but never turns on until you turn on the screen. I expected the data to toggle on/off in certain intervals while screen is off but alas, it doesn't! Please let me know if I'm the only one with this issue, or it's the app.

Perfect app would be custom control on each email or social app individually for occasional checking, and to switch off all other apps unless phone switched on. This app only good for power saver which switches all apps off until phone on. Will keep app on phone, wait for update, will use then because I have faith this dev may achieve perfect app.

After leaving screen off for about 15 minutes, on multiple tests, test emails came thru ' instantly'. Power saving feature was set on. Worth trying again after bugs are ironed out. Good concept.

After downloading and testing almost every battery life saver app from the market...this is the only I haven't deleted after 2 days...I swear on everything I love, my battery use to last 4-6 hrs...now it last 10 to 24hrs depending on usage...last changed my phone at 10pm last night and its now 8am in the morning and I have 61 percent of battery left...this app is the best...about to get the donate version
