READY QLD is a collaboration between Volunteering Queensland and The University of Queensland. The project has been made possible through the joint State and Federal Government funded Natural Disaster Resilience Program (NDRP).

The development of this smartphone App is a result of participatory engagement with the community from disaster affected areas throughout Queensland, from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and key industry representatives from disaster affected areas. Particular emphasis was placed upon meaningfully targeting and responding to youth needs.

Recent events, both globally and within Australia, highlight the importance of natural disaster resilience and the dynamic and Increasing role that new media technologies such as smartphone Apps have and can play.

READY QLD is specially designed for enhancing the resilience of Queenslanders to natural disasters. It contains information, resources and services, checklists, advice and real-time updates to help you make informed decisions.
