ABC iview for Android
waste of tax dollars. It's not 24hr live streaming! only 23hrs30min!! Where's Spicks n Specks at 7:30? No reply on FB so bad review here I'm afraid. *update..Thanks for your reply. Wikipedia says Spicks and Specks is an ABC production, filmed by the ABC at ABC studios, you show Rage and Classic Countdown. Could you please put somthing else on from 7:30 to 8pm...i suggest the Original Monkey Magic.
Chromecast streaming improved greatly, still randomly crashes out though just at longer intervals and isn't as jerky in between crashes. Easier to view via ...er... other means than put up with it conking out every dozen of minutes or so. PiP not supported.
To the people whom have the problem with the app not loading: 1. Try un-installing the and re-installing the app 2. If 1. doesnt work check your compatability, is your phone up to date? 3. To those who to use there 4G/3G make sure that you have allowed the app to use your data as your phone might block it from using data automaticaly. 4. If none of this works then contact them or as most people do write a bad comment. Ps- I realy wish i could comment on some of the other reviews ????
This is by far the best free app for catching up on shows and interesting content. All the other apps bombard you with stupid ads. Yay ABC keep up the good work. ????????????
It still won't work with chromecast. The app works fine on its own on my Samsung, but on my chromecast it plays for less for a minute, then image stops while audio continues, image catches up to sound and 30 seconds later image stops again. I've turned everything on and off and even bought the newest chromecast but it won't play continuous audio and video. Please please fix it. My review is from a few years ago. It seems that every few updates the above problem just keeps happening. I'll wait for another update and hope that the audio/video problem gets fixed again. Luckily my kids don't mind the picture pausing.
One of the most unstable app which always hangs and does not work on any platform The performance is so bad and can not stream most of the video and will hang chromecast and the phone.
PLEASE can you include buttons for going BACK 20 SECONDS and FWD same. This is INCREDIBLY necessary, because it is FAR TOO FIDDLY to try to use the timeline. I constantly go back/fwd too far or I just can't be bothered to rewind even tho I missed something, and I end up dissatisfied. THIS IS BASIC: sbs on demand app has it, as do other apps. Your app is an embarrassment for not having it: it makes it looks like you got year 9 students to design it. 20 Seconds is a good length by the way. Instead of being scared that it's unconventional because it's not 15 or 30, realise that 15 is TOO short and 30 is TOO long. So 20 is ideal.
I love the app. My only complaint is it doesn't work overseas. Living in the US, I really wish I could access my programs from back home.
Tried it a few years ago and chromecast functionality was rubbish. Now works smoothly, still room for improvement, but you can now watch shows on chromecast
I am very scared that my family will go through my phone and see the recently watched stuff...
The interface between ABC website is woefull. Links to iView programs open in Google Play. I expect them to open in the app, ready to play. Rather like YouTube.
I Like This App But The Only Thing Is That It Hasent Got Landscape Mode
Can't make the videos go fullscreen and landscape format on my phone, good selection of shows though.
Thank you ABC As I don't have regular access to TV this allows me to catch up on shows like The Last Leg
Chromecast not working again. Why is it so difficult to test before release?
I think it's awesome that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) provide content through the iView Application. We have it on numerous devices and predominantly use the Google Chrome Cast function to view the content on a TV. ABC Kids is mostly watched, but love being able to catch-up on news, current affairs, talk shows and also the documentaries in the convenience of our own time. The iView Support Team provided excellent service recently which I wish to acknowledge. The application wouldn't install on one of my devices and within a few days they fixed the issue. Highly recommend this application.
Terrible app. Wont even open on wifi or 4g without giving connection error message
It worked at first on my TV via Chromecast, I watched 1 episodes of Rosehaven season 1 & came back an hour later to nothing happening & just a blank screen... ??? Dissapointed muchly ???????? (I did uninstall & re-install btw also, still staring at a blank TV screen ????????) #GoodNews...I've sorted the problem & am now #HAPPILy enjoying my ABC I VIEW... I uninstalled then waited 24hrs & reinstalled & wahoo its going great ????????????
Doesn't autoplay next episode on Chromecast. Request play next/random from inside watchlist. Display by date still groups by name, I want to see all the latest on my watchlist
Useless. Does not operate ouside Australia. Unable to watch NYE. Very, very disappointed.
I gave it one star for the one program I watched before it crashed and locked up
Just kept getting an error. Could not get it to work.
Hey everytime I go to watch a show it keeps telling me to make sure my date and time is correct and it is correct and it still wont work ????
sorry I found out that I just had to reset my phone and it was fine
I watch this ev everyday its awesome...????
Chromecast icon not displayed
I love this app but it has stopped working with Chromecast which I'm a little devastated about. Hoping it is fixed soon.
This app is awesome but so annoying that when I go out of Australia , I can't view anything
Brilliant. Chromecast steaming working perfectly.
Not every one lives in the eastern states, Live streaming should include all time zones
Content will not play; tells me to check the time and date on my device (galaxy S2)
.still will not play anything for me.
The abc app is great but not as great as this app
Can't watch it outside Australia. What do we expats do?
Great. Chromecast much better, no buffering. Stable and great application. Tax$ well spent
1 star to 5 star just by fixing Chromecast.
Really good for documentaries and shows that you've missed
Chromecast????

Other Aussie tv channels should learn from this app. Its so easy to use. SBS on demand and tenplay are horrible to use. iView is one of the first apps I download on a new device. Only problem is sorting my watchlist on Android. On ipad episodes are grouped together by date. On Android episodes are shown in alphabetical order by name of the series. Its annoying coz some series have dozens of old episodes I have to scroll past to find a series on my watchlist which has a new episode. It has a show by date option but it doesn't work.
