Express Plus Medicare for Android
Works fairly well to submit claims with one date. Horrendous duplication to submit claims for the same service over different dates. Unable to process more than 3 claims in one session before "technical difficulties". Would prefer to use desktop site when possible- if only that would process all item numbers and I could avoid this app!
Very clunky app to use. I have tried three times to process an invoice from an A4 sheet, the apps camera features make it unreadable and pixelated when selected. No matter how many photos from different angles I use. Hasn't worked for a claim yet. Did make it easier to update info.
Useless app. When trying to open Captured Receipts, App hangs and can't return to previous window on clicking on back key. Lodged a claim with captured receipt, but Medicare sent me a mail stated that receipt wasn't received. I checked the capture photo and I found that the photo was compressed too much resulting very low quality image and unreadable. Also you are not allowed to lodge claim from mygov website. Stupid Medicare claiming system. Wasting taxpayers' money on this full of bugs app.
App works fine mostly. Not happy with turn around for Medicare claims but I don't think that's the apps fault... Also, since some update, it only allows you to enter 8 characters for a service provider's number, but my service provider's number has 9 characters in it. Please fix.
Unable to use this app to make a claim. So pretty much useless. No way to upload an existing document or image to make a claim, and when taking a photo with the app it appears fine until you select it. The app then reduces the image to something completely unreadable. It generates an image that looks like it is a bad copy of a bad fax when the original is a VERY sharp 12 megapixel image. Please fix this.
I tried to make an online claim and was only given the option to take a photo of the form with my phone camera. I take a legible photo at a reasonable resolution, crop it and suddenly the app converts the photo to a much lower resolution to the point that the form is rendered illegible!! There is no option to upload existing photos or scans at a higher resolution. What were the app developers thinking?
Very odd app. Can't upload preexisting digital documents as it only allows you to take photos. Can't view status of claims just a mammoth pdf document that is way too big to view on a mobile device as it contains your lifetime of claims. It's also not in a chronological order.
Useless, I tried several times to lodge a claim, trying to get a readable photo was near impossible with the resolution set by the app, and after finally getting a photo the app always returned a failure to lodge the claim after submitting it. I wasted hours trying to lodge one claim. You would be better off dropping your claim in the box or mailing it.
They try to shift everything on line and automated, ok fine. More efficient and saves costs (so gov has more to spend on themselves) But then for certain types of medical services you can only claim via this s!@#ass redundant app? Bureaucracy for bureaucracies sake now with technologically enhanced red tape.
Absolute crud. Can't upload an existing document to process a claim, you must take a photo. I can't photograph a document on my phone. And no, talking a screenshot doesn't work, the only option is to print it the damn invoice then take a photo. Do we have to explain how the world works?
So I'm forced to use this app to make an online claim. I'm required to take a picture of the receipt through the app which is uploaded to my "vault". The app compresses the picture quality to a point that it cannot be read. Making this process useless! In addition, you are unable to do a two-way claim with your private health provider using the app. Forcing you to wait till you receive your statement from Medicare then claiming through your health fund separately. Resigned to completing a form "old school"!
What a waste of resources. Have to take a photo which is pixelated and unreadable. They sent a letter weeks later to advise claim not processed due to being unreadable. This has worked on previous occasions but is now a waste of time.
Lack of ability to upload existing documents is a bit silly, especially where most firms are only issuing digital invoices. Some design decisions are similarly quite odd - a few examples, why have a separate 'loading'/'processing' screen? Why call your number in the Medicare card an IRN some places but a number in others? Why ask for the same information (such as payment amount and claim number) twice when lodging a claim? Why have the submit button in the top right, not under the input boxes? So, there's a few issues. But when compared to going in store, it's pretty nifty.
All my details are correct, full strength Wi-Fi and i still am not able to log in to the app. Constantly says error in network, please try again. Been into my local Medicare and they can't work out what's wrong either. Please tell me what is wrong because I'm out of options.
So, I went onto my computer and tried to claim, but even though it's got my password vault all ready, and is more secure, it only takes limited items? Fine, so I'll download an app to my phone. Get the password off my computer and then download the receipts onto my phone. But wait... I need a hard copy receipt, really? I can't upload a PDF? Well, I don't have a printer, so back to the computer to load the receipt and try take a photo of the screen. Over and over til it's nice and visible. Hit the go button and it crops it til it looks like it's behind 10 layers of fly screen. Fiiiine. I'll just run with it now, because the alternative is driving to work to print a document to take a photo of it. Filled out the rest of the details and hope for the best. I expect that in a few weeks I'll be told they can't read the photo. In case I'm not being clear, this app was pointless, not well designed, badly executed and a waste of time. Much like this long review.
Impossible to use. Won't let you upload photos or scanned documents. Won't let you use multiple documents from the "vault", keeps throwing me out of making a claim. I keep gettting push back from mygov to use this thing, but it won't let me make the most basic claim. How am I supposed to get my parents to use this if I can't get it to work? Really like the idea, but stop making it so difficult!
Why do we have to download an app to take photos of hard copy invoices/receipts when high quality images are either already available on the laptop or can be scanned to it? What is the point of the website if we can't use it for claims? Once the claim has been submitted on the app, there is no indication of how long it will take to process or how much i will receive. Like most government initiatives, this seems to be forcing us to use a single, lower quality service rather than providing a valuable alternative. I'll be deleting this rubbish when (if) my receipt has been processed.
Totally useless. Many errors. Bad pictures quality. No possibility to upload docs. Hard to use. I wish to be able to use the computer for this and not the friking phone. Waste of public money as ussual
Easy to submit claims. Wish it didnt ask for information to be typed in which is on receipt. Also annoying that you need to take photo of receipt and app doesnt allow you to access saved documents.
Archaic. Photo image quality is awful, and the app won't accept uploads of documents. So, if I want to submit a pdf invoice, I need to print it and then take a photo of that, or take a photo of my computer screen.
This app is clunky and could be so much better. For claiming please add an option to add receipt from gallery to allow users to submit a screenshot of an emailed receipt - many low income people do not have printers, plus you will receive higher quality images of receipts this way.
Good idea, glad there's no claim limit on mobile app unlike the Medicare online of $75 per day and $150 in a 30 day period, not impressed with the only option to upload receipts is via camera when I have a 100% good quality pdf on my phone. My camera is terrible but their app only allows for photos to be taken, we are in 2018,but this app is stuck in 2004 where the only way to digitalise documents was to take a crappy photo and internal directories weren't accessible
Only way to submit a receipt is using the phone camera. But due to low resolution of my phone. Its not acceptable. I cant use mygov as it wont accept the item numbers i want to claim. So back to old fashion forms.
Submitted my claim successfully, and I think the card image popping out when I rotate the device is pretty cool - but god does it look like it was built in the heyday of Android 1.0. It offends my aesthetic sensibilities.
I can't seem to get past the license agreement page for some reason. No obvious way to accept ect. Don't see how this is usable to the average user
The in - app camera pixelates the receipts horribly, no matter what light or angle I use... and I have a high mega pixel camera phone! Have just had 2 rejected claims posted out to me saying the receipt image quality is not clear! Have tried again, no luck, the app ruins the image quality every time, & there is no way to upload a pre-existing PDF or photo, the app forces you to use their horrid camera. Am now forced to mail my claim the old fashioned way in the post! Oh also, how about looking at these reviews... many people have already said the same!
Cannot even access this ap as it continuously says "internet problem try again later". There is no internet problem!!! Useless and very frustrating!
Terrible user experience for this day and age. Clunky. Not intuitive. Just logging in was painful. I've clicked submit on my claim but do not have total confidence it will work.
What is the point of forcing everyone onto mygov, than, having the apps using legacy logins that no one can remember. Can't login to app because there is no forgotten username or password.
Really frustrating given have to claim certain things through the app. If I could I would give this zero stars
I managed to claim an entitlement using this app. There are many, many recommendations I can make for improvement. My top recommendation is to allow files to be uploaded into the Vault rather than having taking a photo as the only option. I received a pdf receipt for my appointment payment, yet I had to take a photo of the pdf displayed on my laptop screen to submit the evidence of claim! If I had been able to go through a local file browser and select the pdf saved on my phone, then this would have been a much better user experience.
Worst app on my phone. It provides no feedback on input or submission. The UI is all over the place and inconsistent. Terrible design. Also why are you compressing a photo for a claim to something like 240p. Ridiculous
Cant even log in. LOOK AT HOW MANY ONE STARS... Who is in charge there? You need to SACK the developers and the team within medicare who is supervising them what a DISGRACE.
Followed all instructions. Photographed receipts from within app, which is the only way allowed. Had claim denied because the photographed claim was not clear enough. For crying out loud people. Let us scan receipts elsewhere and upload from the pictures on the phone at the least. I will be ignoring the app and queuing up at centerlink, as at least there my claims are accepted.
The app doesn't allow me to attach an electronic invoice. I even tried screen capturing the invoice so that I could upload it through my photo folder, but my only option is to take a photo of my electronic invoice. And by reading everyone else's reviews, the quality of these uploads are unreadable. Please fix this.
Unable to upload receipts from device storage. Can only be captured via the camera. Obviously flaw.
It is okay most of the time but often comes up with the message 'Oops! Unable to connect. Please try again later' even when the actual mygov site is working. Takes several re-downloads to get it working again. Very annoying. Hopefully it works this time; the ninth time I've downloaded it today. Aghhh
Since your last update, i can't sign in. Asking for my username which i don't know and it doesn't give you the option to reset it. I don't get the pin code screen which i used to get access before. Plz help. Don't know how to access my medicare app since it's not giving me the option
I'm happy with the direction this app is going however fingerprint scanning support is needed as a login option. Also the app icon could benefit from Android Oreo's adaptive icons to help it look more Android appropriate.

It seemed to work for 6 claims I did today. I will have to wait and see if the claims go through. If not, I will downgrade the rating! It had "technical issues" for a while. When that happened, it lost the claim info I just entered, so I had to enter it again. Not good. It made me enter the same info twice for each claim (item number and amount). I entered 6 claims one after another, hoping to save time that way. I had to type the same info over and over again, it would better if I could select from things I entered before. It was easier than filling in the paper form for me.
