Thought things were saved to my tax account online. Turns out data is just stored locally. So I've lost it all. Pretty mediocre.

I like how the ATO now wants to read my emails by trying to be the preferred app to open then... As well as videos and telephone calls. Yeah like that's going to happen. Someone's seriously screwed up security permissions. Uninstalled. edit: Developer responded and basically admitted app wasn't properly tested. Staying uninstalled.

Needs: OCR, ability to crop and clean up images prior to storage and sync with a PC app so can also use scanner as well as other ease of use features only available on PC.

Bring back e-tax!! This crap is useless, how can you split the functions up separately and think it will be MORE easy to use?? E-tax you do one lodgment and you send it, so easy. This?? I have to load my deductions via this stupid app?? The app won't log into mygov and keeps looping back to the login screen after I enter my security code and try to login. The mydeductions wont backup my file and upload to tax returns. I hate you idiots for making my life unnecessarily hard!!!!

Isn't able to upload deductions to website. Help desk people couldn't help me, told to fill out a paper form. Seems like it has just as many bugs as the old software it replaced. Typical Hipster software - nice user screen, pity it doesn't work.

Now you need both your computer and your phone to complete the tax return. Why? And the app is shocking. While trying to login to myGov from within the app, I was asked security questions different from those on my computer. It made me feel like an idiot. Bring back e-tax.

Even the centrelink one is better than this, I can't even upload my evidence! Neither the browser nor the application will let me because "an error has occurred"

I wss very happy about this app, by then disappointed cos I thought I couldn't upload my backup. Eventually the app developer contacted me via email and gave clear simple instructions that solved my issue. Thank you so much.

this is the first time I have done my own tax. I have no idea why as I try to log in info telling me that it can identify my information. I have already rang and corrected everything and I still can't get in hopeless and I still haven't received what I was getting back from my tax

Wouldn't save any entries. My next step is to delete it immediately

Overall the app is fairly useful, however after the last update I've found the GPS trip tracker for travel deductions totally unusable. It crashes or the app freezes every time I try and use it. Can this get fixed please?

It includes deductions as you go calculation which is handy and awesome, however adding trip by GPS tracking does not really work on my mobile phone which is HTCone with OS of Android, so it's worth investigating for the app developer, thanks heaps

When I reset the phone I lost all the data that I enter. There is no back up option. This is very bad

Deductions are cumbersome and restoring backups doesn't work because the ato app doesn't register it's own .ato file extension

Only downside is that I can not upload deductions as they happen; would like to see integration with MyGov.

I did an off device backup (OneDrive) per their suggestion. When it came time to restore it won't work. I followed all the instructions and even logged a support job with the ato. Hopeless if it won't restore from the backup files. I backed up religiously, I still have my backups but they are useless because they cannot be restored!!! Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

Have added in deductions and am ready to upload to my tax return but cannot login. What can I do?

Would be useful only if it allowed back up via USB... No other option is suitable for my situation

You removed the private use option from the log book. That was a not a very helpful change. Please put it back asap.

Not able to see past tax returns, totally manual process need to go to mygov and request in person and wait for about 2 months to receive. Then why this app is there if no basic functions are available

Why does the app request access to confidential information in the calendar, and "send email to guests without owners' knowledge"?

NAB has a better app. I waited so long for this and what a letdown.

I can't add deductions to my tax return; type in all the details and click save, then BAM it's gone, again! Cheers for another useless attempt at making all your government-related things into 'simple' aps... Not making life any easier. Bring back eTax.

I have had a response from the ATO to tell me how to restore the data but the options are not available. Even if I click on the saved file it says no app to open this file. Screwed coz I have to start all over again. Just as well I keep a record in Excel.

I dont think the ATO needs access to my media files or the ability to record me, and the app wont function without those permissions. I'll pass on fulfilling your voyeuristic dreams thanks.

I entered one deduction and upload and tried to add more I cannot add as no edit is allowed. No message when upload about no more add. terrible app and I dont want to use small screen. Why I have to use this app??? Now I dont know what to do to add more deductions. Simple? I dont think so.

Crashes, won't backup, won't email data, and now after 2.5mths of putting in data it is refusing to let me add new deductions. Should have used a piece of paper for my log book instead.

I trust you agree this app holds very important data. It's pretty standard for most apps to do an automatic/scheduled backup... would be nice if you guys did too

Can't view my prefill deductions on My Gov and don't want to use the app. Stuck !!!!
