I used the PC version in its early days, years ago. It had many good features, notably it's strict adherence to GTD principles. But it was always a nerd's tool, slowly developed, very poorly laid out and often incomprehensible to a mere mortal. Years later I discover an Android app, only to find that little has changed. The desktop version, which is essential, is still nerdy and amateurish. I gave up at the point where I was required to input the IP address of my wifi server and couldn't even find a reference in help to the Dropbox sync.

Z70%
by Z####:

I especially like the Dropbox sync - it worked perfectly first time for me. The user interface seems much improved to me too. I've been using Thinking Rock itself for several years now, without ever being tempted to change. I do take some time each year to look at competing apps, but I've never seen anything more complete or more effective. The learning curve is steeper than other products but to me that goes hand with the depth and breadth of functionality

Your latest update ruined what I had, and I had a good thing going. No more sync. The USB sync has never worked, but the WiFi sync DID work...until the latest update. Please fix. I am stuck using the desktop version only, as the phone app is currently worthless. If you fix, I can give more stars.

The sync with my Samsung Galaxy S3 is not working anymore.

Needs development. The desktop version is extremely powerful, everything you could want in GTD software -- except the interface is so cluttered and clunky. And the mobile app is very weak. I used the software for a while, but eventually switched to EveryTask because having a functional mobile app is more important than having a full featured desktop program. UPDATE: I've been watching TR in the hopes the developers might update it, but it seems to have been completely abandoned. Use EveryTask instead.

Timed out. For dropbox . ... and wifi does not work even for 1 project.

Why is even here?

The program crashes before it even creates the syncup.txt file in Dropbox. Any help getting the sync to work would be appreciated!

It seems this is an odd on to a desktop version which should be the thing pple should be able to see. Had been wondering how to use the app found it finally. Useless on its own..

U70%

I am a long time user. Dropbox sync means I can bring it back into my work flow. Clearly heading in the right direction- towards being able to do all processing on my phone. Once that is in place 5 stars for sure! Edit - it still requires my TR to be running on my desktop for the sync to work. Very frustrating as my desktop is a light laptop which is usually WITH me. Can control when sync happens, so not too big a deal.

Better than TR on IOS. the UI is a lot more modern than the screen shots shown here.

Took a while, but this version is getting there! Wifi sync seems to work well, USB looks scary to setup so I didn't bother. Now this app. is becoming a worthy companion to the desktop version. Looking fwd to putting it through its paces. 5 stars when they make interface slicker & make a widget... maybe cloud sync...

U70%
by U####:

I love the desktop app. But the Android versions limitation of synching only over Wi-Fi (which can be difficult to setup through firewalls) the mobile app is of no use.

H70%
by H####:

The very basic filtering and task display make using this app pretty tedious for anything besides jotting down an idea to go in your inbox. The LAN sync would have been sufficient in 2007 but not now... Lack of any support for cloud storage means way more work than there should be. Looks horrid on a tablet but I suppose that there weren't a lot of them out there in 2009/10 when this was seemingly last updated. I suppose that's the final thing to complain about (I swear I don't mean to troll) ; stagnant/abandoned development. IMO the desktop app is the best one I've personally used and it's a shame they dropped the ball so badly on mobile. Don't buy the pro version just to get mobile sync.. it's just not worth it.

For those having problems... did you purchase a subscription? Works great for me. Looking forward to more functionality.

Just installed on HTC desire and sync'd with linux PC desktop version. First impression - UI is plain but has plenty of features. Would be good to have ability to move to SD card.

If you use the desktop app this is nice. Unfortunately it assumes a smaller screen than my photon and just leaves about 20% of the screen unused.

U70%
by U####:

Very happy to see the android counterpart for the highly capable desktop gtd application. I am able to carry all my next actions when I am on road.

U70%
by U####:

Improvements I'd like to see: + More filtering options - only being able to filter by a single topic is quite limiting + More sync options - as I already sync my TR data with Dropbox, Dropbox sync would be excellent. + More view options - I rarely use the "Today" view on ASAP actions but can't change the default. + Usability tweaks - for example, make the text entry field for "Collect Thoughts" shrink when the soft keyboard comes up, so that the Add/Cancel buttons can be hit without hiding the keyboard

U70%
by U####:

Not really usable without sync, and that's not available in the OSS version.

Nice companion for the wonderful ThinkingRock app. Please add sync for reference & someday lists as well... makes it even more useful
