When making espresso coffee it is important to monitor your extraction time, but it is awkward to use a stopwatch while operating your machine and watching your extraction quality!
This App allows a timer to be triggered by the sound of your espresso machine pump. Simply train it to the sound of your machine (up to 10 different machines can be trained) and it will time how long the pump runs for.
Basic preinfusion timing is also supported.
Please note that this app is a hobby project, so no guarantees can be made that it will work with all phones and Espresso Machines. It has been tested on Samsung Galaxy S, SII and Nexus phones and works well with vibration pump machines such as Rancilio Silvia and various Breville and Sunbeam machines.

Runs well on a Galaxy S2. Remembers the sound of my espresso machine during extraction so that it can reliably start and stop the measurement period. Has the ability to remember the extraction sound for ten different machines. Impressive performance, and the price is right. Sadly 2 years later, upgraded to a Galaxy S5 running Android Lollipop and all the Coffee Timer Menu functions are no longer accessible.

Has the ability to remember the extraction sound for ten different machines. Impressive performance, and the price is right. Set up menu is harder to get to on Android Lollipop and later OS versions due to the function reassignment of the lower left button. Click on the area just above the lower left hardware button area to access the menu.
